  • In this episode I'm replacing the front wheel bearing on my 2003 Lexus GS300. The process will be the same for all the 2nd generation (1998-2005) and the Toyota Aristo JZS161.

Damn good job. Done a ton of these over the years but still nice to see a clear video on it.

Thanks Ernesto! I really appreciate your support man! I'm all about fixing all the cars myself. I know people might feel overwhelmed doing a job like this but it's not expensive to get the tools to do it and it's an investment. People can even use it even to make some money on the side. I'll be happy even if I just manage to help only 1 person to get the motivation to fix their own car!

I'm glad it helps you, that was my main goal. Everyone can do it in the shop with access to every tool in the world but for guys like us we need to do it with what we got!🤜🏼🤛🏼

A word of caution.. The Toyota FSM states never to use any abrasive sheets to clean the inside of the knuckle bearing bore nor the wheel hub. You DO NOT want to remove or shave any material in those areas as the wheel bearing and wheel hub are both interference fit..

Is supposed to spin easily after the install or does it spin sluggish??

I think I know what you mean, if you packed the new bearing really good with grease it's going to be tight when you spin it by hand, it's not going to spin for days like a fidget spinner hehe but it will feel perfectly smooth when you put it back in the car and start driving it. I hope this helps you! Thanks for watching 👌🏼

Tell me about it man! Also there's 2 giant trees in there so there's tons of leaves on the floor and when it rains the floor gets all muddy. It's no great hehe. Thanks for watching.
