I've commented once before appreciating your unerring commitment to quality. Something to the effect of everyday people becoming far more than ordinary in their quiet pursuit of excellence. I have to say you've stayed the course, and how! Well done sir!
Gracias! Hey when the tape bug bites you let me know! I represent this fabulous Metaxas product - which is the finest analog source I've ever heard, bar none - but I also have access to highly-curated pro level tape decks such as top models from Studer, MCI, Otari, etc.
@@LetThereBeSound1 I only need one thing to get this-win the lotto! But then I need the associated equipment, the house to play it in, a proper car.....
Oh God no! Not from digital. I have been told this came from a 1:1 dub of Mr. Benson's personal tape. So this would be 3rd generation from that original. The machine is a very special edition Metaxas & Sins Tourbillon T-RX "Two Reel Founder" edition.
I know the answer to this, but I'm going to ask it anyhow. How does this compare to your MFSL master recording on vinyl played on the Basis 1300 turntable(which I couldn't find again)?
Tape is better! But oddly enough that MFSL LP played on a reference quality turntable wouldn't be miles behind! Even though vinyl, the tape was fresher back when they mastered that LP so! I am still a huge fan of that Original Master Recordings reissue.
@@LetThereBeSound1 Thanks. Confirmation bias on my part having to do with the expense of a new format for me, is the point you make about the tape being fresher. I'm going to run with that. I definitely agree this is better, though.

i could stare at that machine for hours even before pressing play lol...
thanks pal. you always bring the good stuff
Was this an original reel release or what was the source? This sounds a lot different to other masters I've listened to
Is this a dub off of the digital copy? Gorgeous machine. What is it?
