Chicken Tinga Tostadas:
INGREDIENTS
850g chicken breast
225g onion, diced
10g garlic, minced
4g salt
4g smoked paprika
2g cumin
2g Mexican oregano
8g avocado oil
397g fire roasted tomatoes
105g chipotle peppers in adobo
9g Better Than Bouillon chicken base
2 bay leaves
Refried Beans:
230g pinto beans
800g water
5g salt
6g bacon fat
100g onion, diced
5g garlic, minced
Small pinch Mexican oregano
Small pinch chili powder
Small pinch cumin
Tostada Dinner
3 baked tostadas
170g refried beans
250g chicken tinga
30g avocado
20g lettuce
20g tomato
6g cotija cheese
I just made this dish. Had to cut the recipe in half because I was low on chicken, and I opted to just make the chicken portion and have air fryer potatoes for my carbs and Brussel sprouts for greens on the side with kale. It is BOMB AF. Easy 10/10 recipe. 🔥
Making this recipe today, wild seeing myself used as before and after photos. I 💯 support E4CM and can confirm that if you stick to the plan and stay consistent in the kitchen and find an activity you love doing, the lbs will fall off. I legit never thought I could look how I do now, and it’s more than a year after those photos and I’m still on the path and looking/feeling amazing.

You can also make your own tostadas in your oven with corn tortillas. I buy the mission extra thin ones that are around 40 calories each and toast them under the broiler.

legit food prepping. Gave this (at least the chicken part) a try last night. Was a little worried I overdid it in the instantpot, as large pieces fresh out of the heat felt...not very moist. Might have been my fault for adding a 1/3 can of water to make up for the volume from not putting in enough onion (ran out). But I blended the mix after a little straining (and took out half the chipotles for spice control). Put it up in the fridge and went to bead.
I heated up some mission street taco-sized tortillas in a muffin tin and made little tinga cups. The moistness of the chicken came back full force from sitting in the fridge. Letting the salsa permeate the chicken really does mean this meal gets better toward the end of the week. The heat was good but not painful and some wonderful flavor! It allowed the tortilla to be as plain as it wanted (no needing to "fix" the plainness with oil or salt), but also let the textures of the other toppings take over the mouth feel (the crunch of lettuce, the give of the tomato).
You may have suggested this as a fat loss meal, but it really lends itself for experimentation of the beginner chef willing to try other profiles (citrusy, fruity, xtra hot) and presentation (soft taco, shell cups, as a spread, over low-carb pastas). Lack of variety is a diet killer, so given it's flexibility, I'd nominate this as a staple recipe, especially for anyone settling for lean cuisine for lunch every day at half the calories and a third of the portion. Not to mention these don't taste like freeze-dried sad.
I now have the important task of working through this batch so I can try another recipe (maybe bust out my cast iron for one o dem pizzas)

you can just make chiken tiki-masala with the genric mix you can find at your store unless you live in the middle of no where like me then you have to make the tiki sauce your self. still very protein dense.
If you can, try to get a pressure cooker so that you dont have to keep the stove on for hours and you also save money on the electricity bill.

@excercise4cheatmeals I started noticing a trend with your meals, though they look delicious they are starting to get higher in calorie and carbs outweigh the protein. I thought the idea of this method is high protein lower calories recipes. It’s starting to get difficult to eat 3 meals a day with snacks on from your cook book.
The meal prep before this was 600 calories 70g protein...

It is a pdf so I am not sure if google play books doesn't want to add it because of that. I am sorry about that. You may just have to add it to androids version of the files app. if android has one. I can add it to books or files on my iphone.
tostadas are just fried yellow corn tortillas you could just bake your own if no one near you sells them.

When you drop 500 calories to be in a deficit, how can you meet your protein goals?
If my maintenance intake is 2000 and I don’t use that number for protein but 1500 then I’m going to loose muscle either way. So you’re going to lose both muscle and fat unless you want to stay at maintenance and just try to burn more than you consume, or am I confused?
Just pull from carbs and fat. If you have enough protein and are resistance training you shouldn't lose much, if any muscle.

.6 grams of protein per lb of LEAN body mass is considered sufficient when in a calorie deficit. Carbs are protein sparing, so they save your muscles from breaking down as quickly. And resistance training will help you keep the rest of your muscles.

@@nataliaspinelli9747 if you’re referring to me? My maintenance is 1440, I just use 2000 as a reference. But no big deal, our bodies are build to handle deficits and/or fasting for days. Do you have a goal or what are you working on?

You should be able to get every ingredient on the list at the grocery store. For amazon, it depends where you are located. All of the links worked and were able to ship to my door when I posted this on Friday.
