    Suggest sth to sb- that is a new one. I have never used it before.
    Can we use "should" in the that-clause when we talk about the present /future? For example, I suggest that you should ask your teacher

      Thanks very much! Great question. The answer is no, only use 'should' if the suggestion was in the past. This is because 'should' is also used by itself to make a suggestion - using your example, "You should ask your teacher". If you put both words in a present or future sentence it is like saying the same thing twice.
      "I suggested that you should ask your teacher" - in the past would be correct because you are reporting the suggestion that was previously made, not repeating the same thing.
      It is also fine to leave out 'should' altogether in a past statement - "I suggested that you ask your teacher". With American English they don't tend to use 'should' in this way.
      So, to make your example correct in the present - "I suggest that you ask your teacher".
