As for your prebuilt ship ideas I think they are spot on. We love the game, but sometimes it feels like the people at Frontier has lost touch with how the game is played.
they should fix and tighten gameplay loops instead of offering a "skip the grind" option, that just incentivizes grindier gameplay.
I'm worried about new content, I just hope it isn't worse than the grind it already is.

And regarding streamers early access to the python mk2. It was clarified that they are getting an early build version of the game for a live demo to the community. They are NOT getting the ship in the live game a full week ahead of everyone else

You basically got it. Now only are the prebuilds NOT really Pay 2 Win, which is bad enough, but what IS being offered is an absolute rip off

What can you win in Elite Dangerous?
Those ships used for anything bypasses ship loss mechanics, bypasses durational accumulations, bypasses skill allocation in the seat, is accessible outside of solo, it is accessible outside of starter location. Its exploitable. It does not follow the same measure of success and fail removing play and replacing it with pay. Deny it but the definition stands. You pay to win based off of the mechanics that have been in and remain measured within the gamespace that is ELITE DANGEROUS.

I think the pre builds are a great idea, and so are the early access ships. It's done the right way, no A rate grade 5 ships to be had. Just a handy foot up, and for just 10quid. No £1000 ships P2W here.
For years the forums have been full of "I'd pay for a new ship, if frontier would gives us one". And now it's full of "it's gone P2W!" This is why I stay away from the forums.
It's not about the ship or the build it's about the financial model precedent this pay for ingame Items sets... It's is a slimy dirty game of phycological manipulations for money. People generally don't like being manipulated for money when they are spending their free time.
It's more pay to participate in the end game content. The ships are still inferior to manually engineered ships after all.

Just buy a real PC for games, instead of overpriced toy... Desktop more powerful than any of this nonsensical devices you're playing at can be build for fraction of the price.

The new ships they want to sell are anything but pay to win. If you would like to understand what pay to win really means, go play World of Tanks or War Thunder for a month
Frankly I think it's a mistake to call this "pay-to-win" at all and we should stop referring to it as that. The term "pay-to-win" is relevant to competitive games where paying for gear that helps you defeat other players plays a role. In Elite Dangerous this would only be relevant in pvp combat, where we all know that simply buying a ready made ship will never help you win any battle. For all of the other in-game mechanics like exploration, trading, etc. there is no winning involved at all.
So please, stop perpetuating this term. It has an unduely negative meaning that does not belong in elite dangerous.

OMG all these people talking about pay to win 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ there is no skill boost to it at all and it is trying to raise some money (by skipping a tiny bit of a grind) and everyone looses their S*** its NOT pay to win you doles, who previously wouldnt stop complaining about the grind. I want to see some engineering material packs. I would spend real money on that for sure.

@kudosbudo there is only one way to have anyone redesign anything or even add anything new to the game, and that's to bring in money. Without a revenue stream coming in they can't do anything. And to do that they need to sell things people would buy. And I have done the grind already. Spend a weekend hanging out playing the game and you will have enough for quite a few projects. It's just repetitive and kinda boring ( for the engineer materials especially) and I would very much pay to skip that. It's not like I haven't done my fair share of the grind, I have quite a big fleet of engineered ships. But to make life easier I would for sure take my butt to a material trader and 0 out the categories I was buying and refill my matts. Personally I don't see anything wrong with grind if there was an option to buy the matts that I need.

Playing smug about people not liking the concept of ARX-bought ships is ignoring the precedent it sets. If you're fine with the game selling you ships for real money, and you're fine with them selling access to pre-release builds of new ships before anyone else gets ahold of them, you're opening the door for other "great" ideas FDev's money-grubbers will salivate over getting out the door instead of having their devs fix the numerous broken, jank, and unbalanced parts of the game that still don't work and still have little to offer. Don't believe me, look at the entirety of the games industry and all the god-awful trash that publishers and business parasites inject into games instead of focusing on actually making those games good.
This channel has been entertaining in a lot of ways in the past, but this isn't what I'm here for.
