Well it all depends on what you want to play and what software you use for music production. I would need some examples to speak more to this. Probably 16GB of RAM as it is DDR3.
Just an FYI for anyone who reads this: some of this exact model has mSATA but you can't see whether it has it or not without dissembling the whole thing.
Hey! Hope you can answer this question for me. I assume that Kingfast SDD you used in this video is 7mm thick and (as I'm sure you know) HDD in 7537 is 9.5mm thick , and watching this video it seems like you didn't use any additional spacer for the difference in thickness - is that correct? Spacer wasn't necessary?
From what I remember, the way it fits in the caddy and then gets held in place by more screws on the case, it is secure enough to not worry about a spacer. It will fit fine into the SATA ports and will be suspended by the caddy.
Was the laptop working before this? can you explain more as to when the SSD is not being detected? During Windows install? Is it absent completely from BIOS?
What was the specific SSD product that you used to replace the old hard drive? I’m a first timer in replacing anything beyond a wifi card and have had this pc sitting around since 2017 when the hard drive failed. Let me know!
It is a KingFast 512GB 2.5" Solid State Drive. Any SATA III SSD 2.5" SSD will do. Feel free to send me anything you are looking at and I can give some feedback :) I will say this laptop runs very well with an SSD installed.
@@HaisteComputerRepair Miigwech (thank you) so much for the tips! I am mainly worried about the SSD fitting in the laptop and getting one that is reliable since all of the other brands I find are only sold on Amazon. I honestly don’t know what to look into to determine what works for this laptop since I cannot boot it anyway. I would love any recommendations and links if you could spare the time :) The brands I am looking at at this moment are the one you installed in the video, or a Samsung Electronics 870 EVO 500GB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-77E500B/AM) - found via Amazon. The Amazon one is cheaper but I am not sure if it is reliable because it is Amazon. Let me know what you think and Thank you so much!
@@Sushe64 If that Samsung SSD is in your budget, go for that. I only use this KingFast brand because I get a good deal from a vendor. The KingFast drives are good, I use one in my ThinkPad and one as a portable game drive for system testing and benchmarks. I've installed on many systems. But if I got a deal on any brand of drive that performs well, I would go with it. Try the Samsung drive out.
I suppose you could slow down the video in settings. That would be odd to have the SSD riveted into the case, unless someone did that for some reason. If you like you can reach out to haisterepair@gmail.com with pictures if you want a second opinion.
Hey, I too want to change my HDD to SSD of the same laptop. The current HDD I have is of 512GB. However I'd like to upgrade it to 1TB SSD. Would be okay to jump to 1TB Ssd with this laptop?
@@HaisteComputerRepair thank you for your reply! I'm willing to clone the HDD as I've some important data and stuff. Would you recommend to install fresh Windows though?!
@@Vipulsolanke98 #1 back everything up that is important. Then, you can try Macrium software for cloning drives. Cloning a drive is a free feature and it's good. If you don't get the experience or performance you desire, then try a fresh install. Remember to get an SSD that is similar in capacity (GB) to the HDD it is replacing. Or, at least similar in size to the amount of space used or the largest partition on the HDD.
I just want to say that this was a very helpful video for the Inspiron 7537. Thank you for taking the time to do it. Much appreciated.
My pleasure!
Hi, please will this laptop be good enough to handle gaming and music production?and can I upgrade the ram to 32gb

@@HaisteComputerRepair I will use it mostly for music production with cubase. I won't be gaming on it
@@MuzeInspiration Ok, I think you would be fine with an SSD and 16GB RAM. Good luck!

I was not aware of that. So it's a WWAN port that you can also install a mSATA SSD into?

I believe you are limited to 2.5" SSD's
Bits of video were too fast . Especially putting the ssd in. My hard drive appears to be riveted into the case.
