  • SOLD: Spectacular, low-mileage, original black plate Southern California car with 50K original miles, always garaged, straight rust-free body, two-tone deep ruby red metallic and cream paint with complementary pink cloth and gold vinyl upholstery. Excellent chrome, pot metal, stainless and details inside and out. Optional factory-tinted glass and scallop side trim. Powerful 354 “semi-hemi” V-8 with push-button 3-speed Torqueflite transmission, power steering, and brakes, radio, and heater. Interesting Route 66 backstory. Drives as nice as it looks. Quick and tight ride. Very rare find. First time ever advertised for sale.
VERY RARE FIND: This 1957 Chrysler Windsor, with just 50K original miles, is a very, very rare car. Few remain in existence.
ICONIC DESIGN: the 1957 Chrysler is among an elite line up of classic cars manufactured by Chrysler Corporation between 1956 and 1961 promoted as “THE FORWARD LOOK.”
SPACE AGE STYLE: The styling is among the finest and purest of the Forward look designs. The 1957 Windsor’s one-year-only optional stainless scallop is arguably the most inspired and distinctive side trim scheme on any forward look Chrysler.
NO FEAR OF COLOR: The deep ruby metallic paint is the most desirable color Chrysler offered in 1957. Extra points for metallic, which enhances the lines of the car from every angle in every light. In the sun its glows like candy apple red. Also, extra points for the pop of pink upholstery!
BLING BLING: Another outstanding feature of this car is the beautifully preserved quality of the chrome and pot metal.
GET YOUR KICKS ON ROUTE 66: The original owner of this car was the matriarch of Bono’s Italian Market and Restaurant, a classic Route 66 landmark in Fontana, California for decades. The car remained in the family and garaged on their Route 66 property from 1957 til I purchased it from the estate two years ago.
VROOM VROOM: Mechanically it drives a nice as it looks. Its powerful! The brakes are sure and steady, transmission shifts strong and smooth, and the ride is tight. And of course it has Chrysler Corp’s torsion bar suspension providing superior handing and agility with which no GM or Ford product of the day compares.
This rare 1957 Chrysler Windsor is MORE than an American classic … MORE than mid-century modern masterpiece, it’s a WORLD CLASS NATIONAL TREASURE!
FIRST TIME EVER ADVERTISED FOR SALE

It is amazing how Chryslers base model car Windsor. This was Chryslers' least expensive offering in 1957, and it was so luxurious.

Holy crap, what a gorgeous car! Such a difference from the fashionably cheerless “colors” of today.
I hope its new owners treasure it as much as you have.

Behold the glory of the Forward Look! Mid Century art on four wheels, with a Jimmy Hoffa sized trunk. Ol Walter P would be proud!

In 1957 Chrysler's entire line was given the Motor Trends' "Car of the Year" award and the Industrial Design Institute gave Exner and his styling team a gold medal. But it wasn't just the styling, 57 saw Chrysler use for the first time Ball Joints, Torsion bar suspension, and Vynl wiring with plastic connectors. The Chryslers were lower, the suspension tighter so they handled like sports cars. I know because I had a 57 DeSoto Fireflight in the 70s and I was the terror of L.A. freeways!

What a beauty! The 1958-only Studebaker-Packard "J" body bears a remarkable resemblance to it.
This could be the nicest '57 Chrysler in existence.

Volocars have a couple of '57 New Yorkers and a 300C but they are all north of $190000.

That is a real beauty. My Uncle Tony drove the 4 door version of this car. I can't remember if it was a hardtop or a sedan. It had the 2 headlight design, since the 4 headlight system was still illegal in NJ at the time he bought it. It looks much better with 4. It met its demise in 1961. My uncle had it parked at his country place in PA, but had not set the brake. Someone had leaned into the trunk to get something, and the car started rolling, and went right into the lake. Remember, these cars did not have a 'PARK' position on the transmission. You HAD to set the brake, which my uncle failed to do. He replaced it with a 62 Chrysler 300 Sport 4 door HT. Black with red interior. It was sharp!

Beautiful. Original CA plates in 1957 would have been yellow with black letters. The black plates came out in 1963 and everybody (almost) tossed the yellows in the trash. Maybe new owner will put yellows back on.

The 1957 Chrysler Windsor is a Royal classic. ( The only thing I would change is the straight steering column. I would substitute it for a safety rack and pinion steering system.)

We had a '58 Windsor 2-door from 1964-67. Ours was blue instead of red. It had been mostly garaged since new, but by '64 it was ragged. The front seat was replaced, the build quality was terrible. The paint was nothing like what you see here. Even with 50K on the odo, I'd be amazed if this car hadn't been completely rebuilt. The carb on ours was terrible - the electrical system was a disaster - the neutral start switch used to break. By the 60's this car looked like old hat, style-wise. BUT...in retrospect, a rolling piece of art? Agreed.
