Beautiful car. The rear window knob on the left side of astrodome was used to roll the rear window up and down in the station wagons. We have a 1960 Chrysler Windsor wagon with the Astrodome gauge pod.

I remember this beauty from 1960. One of the professors in our Economics Department bought one and drove it to school. To a young fellow like me this was a dream come true. Those wings were something else!
I remember when these first came out... started a morning newspaper route in 1957. In my neighborhood lived the senior manager of our local Chrysler Plymouth dealership. I got to see the brand new Chrysler autos before most of the folks in my small town because he drove home the first arrivals from the factory every year!!! Thanks for the memories!!!
What a beauty! Grandpa always had 300 letter cars. He would replace them every two or three years. Recently I found a lot of old slides with them, his first 300 B was white and everything else was red. If I'm not mistaken I believe they call that radio signal seeker?

I think this is the finest ‘60 convertible I’ve ever seen. It’s absolutely gorgeous…the design and the restoration. A car as beautiful as this, you’d think it would’ve been very popular with many units sold.
1960 Chrysler, one of my my favorite memories as a kid. My parents owned a 1960 Chrysler New Yorker. So many similarities. From memories the New Yorker was a 4 door, no convertible. Different engine. There was no center console but I thought I remembered fender skirts. It had swivel front seats too. The dashboard was identical and the front and back ends appear to be identical. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
Fabulous restore. Those were the days of spacious, comfort, style and gleam; now gone with the wind. Must cost a small fortune these days to cruise, but the cruising must be a fantastic ride.
Kudos to the restaurer. What an absolutely perfect restauration on a masterpiece of a car. The late-fifties-early sixties Chrysler 300s are of exceptional design. I generally hate red for cars but this "Toreador Red" is gorgeous.
🇨🇦🍁🇨🇦Absolutely Stunning .. Rusty Mike is a legend in my view. Regardless of the convertible top colour change, in my mind it scores as high as it gets. Much respect indeed.🇨🇦🍁🇨🇦
PS: This is a great video bc you guys documented the restoration. Your Resto mechanic is the best I’ve seen - car is flawless. I agree, the top looks better in tan. Who cares what the stuffy judges think. Boring out the block was a great idea bc you can source more parts and you get more power. Good luck wish I had a car like that!
Wow, what a spectacular car. Love the paint job. The colors are beautiful too. Yes the tan top goes with the body color. I did the same when I restored a burgundy 1964 Corvair convertible. It had a white vinyl top originally but I put a tan vinyl top on it.
WOW! Such, a beautiful restoration of a such a historic work of art. The dash alone is literally spectacular, the lighting and design are right out of the bright future that in fact turned out to be a dystopian mess of stunning technology without soul. A restoration like this is a gift to future generations. Unless they become the Borg. I’d wager on the latter. Bravo! So excellent!🎯👏🏼
What skill and expertise it takes to restore a classic car back to life. A Chrysler 300 from 1960 did not bounce cheap. Rich man's car by a long shot. Masterfully done.😂😂
One of the first cars I ever fell in love with was my Uncles '60 Windsor Chrysler, I think in some respects the Windsor was prettier than the 300 F. It was terracotta in color and even had the toilet seat spare. I had the opportunity to buy it from him but opted to buy a '63 Thunderbird instead.
Beautiful car! Exner excellence! Designed entirely by Virgil M. Exner Sr. Based on the 1950s Chrysler Ghia concept dream cars created by Virgil M. Exner and Luigi Segre at Ghia. Absolutely fantastic! Amazing sports luxury high performance car! 413-V8 with push-button Torqueflite, dual quads with Cross-Ram induction!
These were the sorts of cars Detroit was building when I was a child. This, the 1963 Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado, the 1965 Pontiac tri power Grand Prix. Those days are gone.

Be careful probing around the electroluminescent lighting transformer under the instrument cluster with a test light. The power coming out of that thing is like a bolt of lightning. Don't ask me how I know. Also remember the turn signal switch was awkward to operate.
That is a fine VIP car. Only Chrysler and Virgil Exner could drum up something that good. Any company president or CEO would have loved something like that. Take the state governor on a joy ride.
Yes according to the research I've found online you could get the cross ram with AC. The cross ram manifold is wide side to side but it doesnt encroach forward towards the front of the engine so the compressor and lines should have ample room

This car was what the Europeans wish they had … This was Super Fas & Super Kool and did not Need a Shoehorn to get in it . Imagine cruising in Europe in the 1960’s with a car that was this Beautiful , and made for men taller than 5.6 inches ?? I can see why so many Euro’s hated Americans . ❤❤❤❤ 100 years from now this will be one of the greatest cars this America ever made 👍
1960 the year I was born, I remember great cars as a kid, standing on the seats while my parents drove, the only problem was those pesky buckle things under my feet that nobody used, and I mean nobody, I drove a rig for decades, I've never worn a seatbelt in my life.
One of my uncles had the 413 Cross Ram in a 61 Dodge and I dont have to tell you how fast that damn car was....andvyou could down shift into second and look.out.....
Beautiful car! That dash is absolutely stunning. However, I can't help but think that all of those buttons and switches would be very hard on one's knees in a collision, and don't even get me started on the potential terrors of being eviscerated by that seductively bladed steering wheel.
Unfortunately, the newer 300 series along with most Chrysler products became unreliable, ugly pieces of crap. My daughter had a newer 300 and it left her stranded more than once. I owned a 1967 Coronet RT and the engine and tranny were bulletproof, but, the doors wouldnt shut, and it fell apart in every way within 100,000 miles. I should have restored it, but, in those days who knew what classic cars would be worth?
