42:40 "I don't really care about the Jace ultimate." That's generally a reasonable statement, but the Jace ult looks very real to me from this board state. You're ahead, but without a huge amount of pressure or any hard permission locking up the game. The ult is close to an on board kill between your cards in hand and Shelldock.
The problem I have with the way the cube changes seem to be turning out is that, while I love the cool synergies, it's similar to the type of composition that originally spawned all the "LSV y u always draft blue?" comments. Hmmm... do I take this busted card that's great in basically any deck, or do I take this narrow card that could maybe be busted if I get these 7 other cards and the stars align?
The nice thing about mtgo is they can experiment with this stuff and get some great data on how good it is. Sure there's a lot of misses, but for example the domain stuff came from an mtgo experiment and are considered to be pretty sweet
The p1p4 Retrofitter Foundry ended up in the sideboard, but fortunately our round 1 opponent was here to keep the "How does Retrofitter perform in non-Academy decks?" streak alive. Let the record reflect that it was turn-1'd both games, and was activated once in each game: a 3-mana Mons' Goblin Raiders. (Though it did draw out Loran to blow it up in game 2.) It's a combo piece in Academy decks, a sideboard tool against controlling decks that are loaded up on counterspells + creature removal, and otherwise unplayable.
Is there a way for you to index your videos to make them searchable? Like if you put a bunch of identifiable hashtags, would this make it easier to find all the related videos? Example: today’s VCube draft could be #vintagecube #modo #control #espercontrol, etc. So, I want to search up examples of control decks you’ve drafted, then this one would come up. If I’m interested in Esper Control decks you’ve drafted specifically, I search accordingly and my results are more refined. I’m asking because the longer you keep doing this, the more valuable your library becomes as a learning resource for others. So, you could even identify how to pull off specific combos by including #brainfreeze (for example). As a high school teacher, this could be really valuable.
Esper Tempo is such a fun deck. Kaito is honestly one of the best PWs in Magic. Obviously Oko, T3, and W&6 are better but after that I think he's as good if not better than Dak in many decks. If only this deck had a Raffine for the standard hotness.
Ah the old 9th pick reanimate, just MTGO league things. It's so hard to draft in pods where half the table is just blindly forcing their preferred colours
Counter magic (and cheap interaction in general) is what makes this game good. That's like saying remove duress or thoughtseize from the game. Oh, and let's remove swords to plowshares, too. You know, while we're making the game bad.
@@bradleylovej do you ever question your decisions in life when you play blue counterspell mirror and you both pass with mana up for 15 turns straight?
@@Gobblesthepatient I actually love it. Those games are very cat and mouse, very calculated, and a lot of fun to me. I usually win those games. Sometimes patience is interesting and fun, like a defensive-oriented team in football.
I really like Kaito. It was cool to see you draft a deck that really allowed him to pop off! :D
Watching LSV destroy opponents while eating tortelloni right out of the pot. The luncheon of champions

He had counterspell under sheldock?
@@swiftdragonrider Yeah, also he doesn't have many spells in hand, so drawing more cards that turn I'd guess is more likely to win you the game.
Luis’s distain for looking at what they scryed with palantir is so nice
Lovely deck. Esper Control is so nice when you are ahead on the board and just coasting. Frustrating to play against :)
Congratz on your Pro-Tour run!! Maybe you could give us some details about it, especially due to Kai and everything that was said!
Love you, bro!
The ranking you give the Lurrus is getting me to literally shake my head at you "Time Walk, Sol Ring, DT, AND Lurrus!" Hahaha. Thanks for the vid.
Tbf, he was pointing out Lurrus as a potential wheel, not as being as good as the other 3.
@@Marksmaan He most certainly wasn't pointing it out as a wheel. Lurrus is in the top 20 cards in the cube according to LSV's rankings.
He has it ranked above DT
When did people start getting gaslit into thinking Lurrus isn't one of the most busted cards ever printed?
@@aidennoir597 The drafted a bad deck and lurrus didn’t make it into a good deck so they decided it sucks.
Fantastic draft, a favourite of recent memory.
Passing Sparra's Headquarters for Darkslick Shores felt suspicious.

why would you care if people make such comments

"Ponder is like Vamp tutor for the top 4 cards of your deck" LOL

this deck showed once again how busted cheap interaction and threats can be
Thats why I love drafting lurrus decks lol, literally nothing but cheap threats and interaction.
@@iankane3732 it's still crazy to me how lurrus's deck building restriction is just building a good deck lol
The luck one: Damn... some dude passed me a sol ring! Oh... lsv... i guess time walk already gone.
I can’t believe he passed academy with a retrofitter already. What world is this

This one draft pod =\= the population at large
LSV opens Time Walk, hits record button.
Yaaaaay it’s not Winston, I’m ecstatic!!! 🎉
Any thought to play Loren in that last game to start drawing extra cards to trigger Bowmasters?
"Yoink."
I also don’t like the summoning sick thing
Would party Jace be a good inclusion again with the advent of things like bowmaster?
Old or new time walk art? Sure the new one is dope and better from a “technical” standpoint, but the original is just so classic
dont like the darkslick over headquarters pick. I think you need the white fixing more and it also fixes for potential tamiyo splash
Great deck! A shame you faced really soft opponents :/
Yeah, the first two opponents were basically identical bad decks that fell into the green trap
How is six not good with timewalk? Giving time walk retrace seems pretty solid to me lmao
How would your opinion change if you read the card?
I swear he's used this video title before haha
Just started video and if you pull a ischron scepter
Did you play drc at the pro tour?
He played storm
@@MarkChaney-b8k some storm players didn't play Drc although it's a great card in that deck.
Seems like you're maybe undervaluing Ancient Tomb a little. That card is pretty nuts.
We back!
do more arena cube draft
but winston? :)
I hope you tell your buddy at daybreak that the new summoning sick animation is a big downgrade in terms of readability.
Mtgo graphical effects :'(
Sir 3-0? Normal.
i thought you would have.
first?

you got it, champ
15 counterspell deck is very boring. PLEASE nerf blue in vintage cube and remove counter magic from the game!!!!
i'll get working on it
No, I'll counterspell your suggestion, thank you
