@@watchartsci yes, I was referencing an earlier model, the first time it featured an automatic movement. I liked the look; I prefer dress watches to sports watches.
I too like black and gold. The price of gold reached an insane 2400$/oz last week, reflects the state of the world my father told me when I was a teenager. What I want to know is why platinum watches cost more than gold watches when pt. is so much cheaper ? When my ship comes in I am going to get rid of my VC Ultra Thin gold watch and buy a PP Elipse with gold bracelet.
Hi Bill , I think the cellini like is largly over looked. The Prince is also great watch. There are even some models in platinum that are a real bargain.
Just discovered your channel, best watch content on RUclips, learning more from your recent videos than all of wristwatch RUclips last seven years.
Hey Jason, thanks man! Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Take care, Bill
I always loved this model, ever since it was featured in the magazine Watch Time, when the watch first hit the market.
Thanks Russell! For me it was new, but I liked. Take care, Bill

I have a weakness for black and gold and squarish cases, two counts in its favor. I’m not a Rolex fan, but I would wear that.
Yes, CT, that Black & Gold has a certain sophistication without looking flashy nor cheap. Take care, Bill
Great value watch ! Great Watch !!! Nice video mate 🥃
Hey Tim, Thanks man! Take care, Bill
Great finds Bill. I have never come across this particular model Cellini. I do like the line though.
Best regards, Brian
When I compared the Danaos with my Fabergé Alexi; the Danaos was still a second choice even though I like it. Take care, Bill
Hey,Bill, unrelated to the video but could you explain a little bit about how the star and flirt mechanism produces a dead-beat second?
Sorawas, I not sure what a star and flirt mechanism is. Take care, Bill
I have always liked the Cellini range, thanks for sharing Dr.!
You are so welcome Haaa Veee, the man! Take care, Bill

VelviaMan; platinum is harder to work with than gold; so it takes more man-hours and therefore costs more. Take care, Bill
It looks very similar to the Peseux 7001 but I could be wrong. My preference is the shaped movement of the Cellini Prince.
I had not thought of the 7001, Truman, but there are similarities. Take care, Bill
Looks great, very underrated model from Rolex. Thanks Bill for the video.
The pleasure is mine Abdul. Thanks! Take care, Bill
in your research did you happen to find the weight in gold content it has?
No BR ... do you know? Take care, Bill
Nice one! Completely forgot about these.
You and me both Anders! Take care, Bill
hey bill thanks for the info as usual! i was curious if you had any knowledge or opinions on Perrelet, and their in house movements? thanks!
Hi Zack, this is a brand I would need to find out more about. I've heard of them but have not yet really looked into them. On my list. Take care, Bill
Excellent Bill. The black on gold dial is charming, and not overly expensive. Cellini is dead...long live Cellini.
Every watchmaker kills off the models I like best, Tuna! Take care, Bill
Every watch brand has a habit of killing off the models I like best, Tuna. First the Prince and now the whole Cellini line. Take care, Bill
@@watchartsci Great minds think a like Bill.
The Danaos is currently the go to cheap gold watch on the second hand market.
I don't know whether I'd call any solid gold watch, "cheap" but they are certainly "affordable," Mike. Take care, Bill
What is the reason of hiding the movement in solid caseback?
Seba, I believe it's part of the "oyster perpetual water-proofing." Take care, Bill
These look excellent, not at all like your typical Rolex.
Not ... another sports watch., Lex. Take care, Bill
Great watch, especially in yellow gold 😊
Yes, very impressive watch Christian. Take care, Bill

Don, they have them in platinum? I did not know that. Thanks. Take care, Bill
No second = not for me
Ok, "No solid gold Danaos for Eric." There you go. Take care, Bill
