Nice but why not use USB4 / TB 4 by now? They're much faster and actual protocols for this kind of product I think.

      1. 20Gbps is enough speed for 90% users. In fact, 10Gbps is enough for many users. 2. The cost will increase, and the selling price will increase. 3. The heat generation will increase dramatically, so the final product will be large in size and inconvenient to carry.

@@boli1852 not really. Proof is that they just announced their first TB5 nvme case. And it’s great for us professionals.

Would love to see this have the ability to change the RGB to a specific color when tagged in MacOS and be able to blink the light to quickly identify the drive and have it turn off when the it gets ejected.
And have the branding be less present

so theoretical 2500 MB/s read writes? The previous gen Sabrent enclosure would constantly overheat and cause thermal throttle. I imagine this will throttle faster, since it's just a hunk of metal for cooling. I switched to one with a built in fan, now I don't run into that issue... when is sabrent going to make on of these with a built in fan?

Given that it’s June 2024, it’s surprising to see technology that seems quite outdated. Why are older technologies and chipsets being used instead of USB 4 or Thunderbolt 4? Could you please provide some clarification? Otherwise, everything looks clean.

I love it, but I need you to make an enclosure with a cold shoe or 1/4 20 screws. The camera industry is waiting.

As a consumer, it often feels like a trial-and-error process with no clear guides available, and decisions are largely based on opinions anyway. I have tried Selore, S-Global, Mokin, and Hagibis 40Gbps / USB enclosures and they are a heat coffin to kill your drive, some even burned, read reviews on AMZ. Also now trying the GODO 40Gbps M.2 NVMe SSD enclosure will see where that leads seems well engineered, but only time will tell, what looks good on paper can just be smoke and mirrors. Not to mention many are also super overpriced, many where 50% or less during Prime Day.

For fashionistas. I just need a solidly reliable USB-C 8TB SSD in 8K video shooting territories. Plain vanilla. We use FOSS.

Throw in one of our 8TB Rocket SSDs in this enclosure and you will be ripping through 8K footage 💨💨
