건강을 지키기 위해서 하는 거예요.
Rather than saying because I like cooking,
I am cooking for my health.
영어가 꼭 필요해서라기 보다는
그냥 좋아서 공부하는 거에요.
Rather than saying because English is definitely needed,
I just like English, so I'm working on it.

Question: How can I improve my listening skills? I'm getting decent at reading but I still suck at my listening comprehension.
Typically getting better at listening requires lots of... well, listening. I recommend that alongside your regular Korean studying and practicing, listening to things that you can follow along - even if you're not able to understand them. Some good ideas are Korean variety shows, without English subtitles. Just try to listen and watch them as much as you can. Being exposed to a lot of Korean will also help your studying go more smoothly :)

So I made these two sentences:
고양이를 싫어한다기보다는 강아지를 더 좋아해요.
12월을 좋아한다고 말한다기보다는 크리스마스를 좋아해요.
I’m not sure of the second one.

저는 이런 어려운 문법을 더 이해하기 위해서 문법 의미를 한국어로 쓰는 걸 좋아해요.

"이 문형은 문법 3 개로 만들었다. 인용 문법, 동사 + 기 명사화하는 문법, 보다 불변화사 합쳤다. 어떤 상황에 대해서 그렇게 말하기보다 이렇게 말한다면 더 정확하다" 라고 썼어요.

Billy 씨, I have another question, though I’m not an intermediate learner I’m just curious. Why was the quoting form of 이다 used in the sentence :
운동을 좋아해서라기보다는 건강을 위해서 하고 있어요 seeing as though it means to be. Maybe I’m not asking the question correctly but I hope you understand.
There the meaning is "More than because~ it is~ (이다)."

한국말 정말 잘 가르키 시네요!
There is a very common mistake in this sentence, even by Koreans. There is no word '가르키다' in Korean. The correct word to mean teach is '가르치다'. These days, many Koreans also confuse '가르치다' and '가리키다(pointing out)'. That's why these two words are mistakenly mixed, and words like '가르키다' came out.
Oh and I got a question. When should we use the 세요 and when the 니다 and when the 니까 form?

Used all of the time :-) I always mention in my videos if you should know something specific about when it should/shouldn't be used.
