I’ve had this app since I was a kid. Ended up getting a lifetime subscription to the pro version when those were still a thing and been grandfathered in ever since. Has a special place in my heart tbh 😭
I remember back in 2006, ultimate guitar pro used to have a stand alone program which we need to download the pro tabs to open it. There was a cracked version so I had good times using the pro tab lol. And just like many software like Adobe, instead of one time payment now we have to pay them anually.

I have a really important question, is the free Trial mandatory? Do I need to use it to use the app? Because I once downloaded it and right after I made the preparations to make the app better with reccomendations, it appeared something about using it either weekly, daily or monthly and Idk if I just payed the free Trial accidentally because I clicked on the weekly now I am scared for life right now and I need to know if that is the free Trial or not

I've been a subscriber for several years, and I couldn't be more dissatisfied with them as a whole. Half the tabs are identical (and bad or wrong at that), the app is buggy as all get out (and constantly gets worse) and some of the moderators are obviously 18year old wannabes (rude as hell) with nothing else to do. Don't waste your money, there's plenty of free tab sites, and much better places to learn (if that's what your after). Who am I? Nobody, but I've been playing for 40+ years, quite a few of them professionally, and I believe in honesty, and integrity. Something they seem to lack.
Lol. So you donate your money to a cause you don’t like and bitch about it? I kind of agree with you, but it’s a convenience of having accurate and reliable tab access imo. My 15 years of playing I never paid for UG, but I’m now thinking I may check it out now.

I hate that every time I use UG that I have to mute all the instruments and highlight bass guitar all the time. I can’t find where I can save that setting. Also I have a Vidami. I think I can use it with UG. I’ll have to check since I haven’t renewed my subscription due to this issue.

Good, informative video, I’ve been using Ultimate Guitar for over four years, and I’ve learned to play several songs from it. Overall, UG is quite good, but sometimes the tabs can be a little inaccurate.

I bought a second hand 2015 Fender Mexican Stratocaster, the equivalent now is the Fender Player Series. I like the Strat tone and the majority of what I want to learn first is Clapton, Hendrix, Mayer based music so it kind of felt right. You will love moving to an electric! Get a decent amp and it will sound great 🤘
Ultimate guitar is a scam. An advertised limited time offer 90% discount was offered and i purchased. Went to use it and nothing worked. All I got was (FILE NOT FOUND) Nowhere can I find an access on ultimate guitar website to ask for help.
The main issue with learning without a teacher is, no one is there to say your picking hand is wrong or finger placement or thumb placement is bad. When learning on your own you can pick up horribly bad habits and injuries.
How do you show the chords under the chord section of a song it's not even showing them on android. Also how do you select something to repeat under tabs when I press and hold nothing happens when I press and drag nothing happens.
Used to love the UG app - I paid for a pro membership - and used it for many years live, but sadly, in the last year, the app has become so slow and glitchy to load tabs that it’s not usable in a live gig. I have reached out to UG support but they don’t seem to be concerned about it. I’m using a different platform now for my music.

I'm a Mike too, and have a funny Mike story....a friend of mine named Mike had a room mate Mike, so back in the days of home phones I'd call, room mate would answer, and I'd say "hi Mike, this is Mike, is Mike there?" So awkward!! Thank goodness there seems to be less Mike's these days..

Well I haven't used it extensively but from talking to others it seems that it isn't as comprehensive as going through his website. The features are cool with being able to play along for example and the convenience is obviously a great factor but they weren't that important for me.
I use the Justin Guitar app alongside the web site and I really like it. Some of the features are not unlike Ultimate Guitar pro in that you can play along to various tracks. The tracks are geared towards the levels in the original beginner course. I think you do need to web site though as well.
Can I ask a question please? Does anyone else have issues with song tempo/autoscroll? I can rarely play a song through without having to stop/start the track to keep my place. Even using the speed up/down feature, it rarely gets the timings correct. Thank you for your content!

Guitar pro is so much fun i love using the backing tracks it sucks alot of bands have liscensing shit that doesent alow you to stream the songs. I can figure songs out by ear but i dont have the time anymore.
Ultimate Guitar is a shonky company that steals money and won't return it. I signed up for a 7 day trial and they took $98.99 out of my account. I cancelled the subscription within 10 minutes of sign up then saw that they had charged me. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY, dreadful behaviour. Look at other online reviews before dealing with them.
I did get the Ultimate Guitar Pro version, but I thought the songs have vocals but all I hear is the MIDI instead of vocals. Is this the only way to play the songs? No Vocals? Thanks, Chuck
Forgive me for posting here, but I came across your review of the Spark amp on your blog. I wonder if you'd be willing to tell us what you think about it compared to the Katana and just thoughts in general? I would love to hear what you think of it seeing as you already have a great amp in the katana
I ordered the Spark because overall I felt it better for me but then had to cancel it as it was going to take too long to deliver. I think there are still complaints about this and pandemic just added to this. The reason I ordered it over the Katana to start was that it kind of did it all in a 'home-friendly' package. It has amp modelling, works with acoustic, acoustic electric and bass, blue tooth capability, the auto chord feature, has a metronome and tuner, looks good, works as a USB audio interface, isn't too powerful and fits in perfect in a home environment. The main features however that stood out for me over the Katana were the Smart Jam feature as I thought it would be really cool to use. I won't go in to it all here but the Katana is awesome too, very little in it in my opinion. I am actually planning to try and use the app that is used by the Spark with the Katana, if it is any good I might do a video on it.
@@MidlifeGuitar They are catching up on deliveries now! I've seen people that ordered and got it 6-7 days later! You should order one before their pre order sale ends this month. I don't have a Katana I only have the Spark. But as a beginner guitarist this thing has been amazing especially with being able to get so many different tones. Would love to see your take on it
only thing i hate about ultimate guitar is the lessons are all over the place. you pay your money as a beginner and its far too overwhelming. instead of a 12 week introduction course where you go from a-b-c and so on its just a fucking mess.

No and it wont transcribe for you. I'm not sure you will find anything like that, at the moment. I have Positive Grid Spark amp and that finds the chords for a song but isn't always accurate.
I just started playing again after 20 years of not play. I'm new to all of this. I have the soft where which I think is great but one thing that is so frustrating and I don't know why is.... how come I can't just import a PDF doc sheet music with Tab into the system?
Good question. I contacted the UG team and they said the following "there isn't really any limit on how many devices can be connected. As long as there's no suspicious activity, i.e. a lot of simultaneous connections from distant locations - any number of devices can be used". Hope that helps.
Try "Chordify". It is an iPhone and ipad app that takes songs from youtube and transposes the song so that you have the chords. There is a free and paid version. I do not know if it is available for android. I hope that is helpful.
Very interesting. Navigating through the free section has been a pain, especially as their website operates very differently depending on the device. It seems it’s all about getting you into a pro subscription. The incorrect transcriptions should not be too much of an issue on the long run if users can comment and request adjustments.
Yes the free version isn't great and I wasn't much of a fan but the pro version is good imo and if you can get it for a cheap price is definitely worth it for the added features.
Midlife Guitar yeah you finished to convince me and I decided to give a try with the $25/year offer they have currently. From the get go, I notice their desktop version of their website is more complete than the iPad version. It’s a bit frustrating but manageable.
You can't display the staff and official tabs can't be downloaded but pro tabs can. Not sure on the Chinese songs, you can still see all the songs available for free so maybe try searching for some.

It's unfortunate you can't download the "Official" tracks. You can download the "Pro" tracks though as a guitar pro file and they work like a charm.

If you are a PRO member, It Is enable to download the OFFICIAL/ PRO tabs on .GPX like in other songs? or just to play the backing track on Web. Thx

The main features however that stood out for me over the Katana were the Smart Jam feature as I thought it would be really cool to use. I won't go in to it all here but the Katana is awesome too, very little in it in my opinion. I am actually planning to try and use the app that is used by the Spark with the Katana, if it is any good I might do a video on it.
@@MidlifeGuitar They are catching up on deliveries now! I've seen people that ordered and got it 6-7 days later! You should order one before their pre order sale ends this month. I don't have a Katana I only have the Spark. But as a beginner guitarist this thing has been amazing especially with being able to get so many different tones. Would love to see your take on it
only thing i hate about ultimate guitar is the lessons are all over the place. you pay your money as a beginner and its far too overwhelming. instead of a 12 week introduction course where you go from a-b-c and so on its just a fucking mess.

I've signed up for the pro version and bank account already deducted. And everytime I ask for a song version it sends me to another app. And ask me to sign up for a fee

Isit free with mac or something? When I use the mac book, it let's me use the pro benefits but I hate mac software and use my idea pad but that wants me to pay, using the same UGT account 🤔

No and it wont transcribe for you. I'm not sure you will find anything like that, at the moment. I have Positive Grid Spark amp and that finds the chords for a song but isn't always accurate.

Good question. I contacted the UG team and they said the following "there isn't really any limit on how many devices can be connected. As long as there's no suspicious activity, i.e. a lot of simultaneous connections from distant locations - any number of devices can be used". Hope that helps.

Try "Chordify". It is an iPhone and ipad app that takes songs from youtube and transposes the song so that you have the chords. There is a free and paid version. I do not know if it is available for android. I hope that is helpful.
Very interesting. Navigating through the free section has been a pain, especially as their website operates very differently depending on the device. It seems it’s all about getting you into a pro subscription. The incorrect transcriptions should not be too much of an issue on the long run if users can comment and request adjustments.
Yes the free version isn't great and I wasn't much of a fan but the pro version is good imo and if you can get it for a cheap price is definitely worth it for the added features.
Midlife Guitar yeah you finished to convince me and I decided to give a try with the $25/year offer they have currently. From the get go, I notice their desktop version of their website is more complete than the iPad version. It’s a bit frustrating but manageable.

You can't display the staff and official tabs can't be downloaded but pro tabs can. Not sure on the Chinese songs, you can still see all the songs available for free so maybe try searching for some.
