It kinda IS a neat a twist that the depressed dude wasn't a target because he's not EVIL, he's just depressed, meanwhile the cute girl we think is just a mere victim gets turned into a monster because of her bitterness towards a dude not noticing her feelings. KInda poorly told though.
Honestly, the Vampire Sherlock one really could've pulled off with a better budget in general. The potential that could've been done with a premise of a lazy so-called genius detective that is secretly working on a case that remains unsolved for years with his apprentice (or something, I can't remember) is great. Maybe if they did a different approach, and instead of showing the mundane day-to-day life of the two, they could've showed Holmes solving the case for the most of it, and eventually Hudson would find out somehow? (I can really imagine Hudson finding out when Holmes is confronting the culprit, or maybe the culprit finds out about Holmes trying to solve the case and attacks them, etc.) The character design itself isn't too bad either. Just mend the threads between plot points, erase some unnecessary things, patch up the over all quality, and it might've been an actually enjoyable anime.
I watched this show, mostly because I was sorting by the worst anime and I found it. It's honestly actually funny, and I don't totally get why it's as low rated as it is. It's based off a mobile game, has terrible subbing on the first episode, and weird animation which I think caused the low rating. But if you actually watch the later episodes somewhat ironically it's really funny and kind of ends on a cool note.

The thing that sets Ghost Stories apart is it was the official english dub that was like that, whereas the one for Mars and other similar dubs are all fan dubs

I just watched the Mars of Destruction dub and its HILARIOUS. I didn't believe it at first but all of the snippets Scamboli put in this video have real audio from the dub. Its obvious the dub is just a bunch of friends messing around with $5 video editing software but thats what makes it so fun to listen to. The whole anime (1 episode) is just 20 minutes long, you should definitely give it a shot.
I think the dub of the first anime is legit just an abridged series some college kids made in one weekend and that's literally the closest to a real dub it got
Okay, the second one I can actually explain why Aimi attracts demon and not Hiroki- in Japan, and indeed European culture, teenage girls are considered the demographic to have the most psychic ability and thus the most attractive to demons, monsters, etc- particularly when under emotional duress- thus more likely to passively attract such beings. Poltergeist's are another phenomenon often attributed to to teenage girls undergoing emotional distress, particularly those currently going through puberty. Probably the _most_ logical thing in that anime.
Dude... a concept of a vampire Sherlock that DOESN'T want to solve any cases sounds like such a fucking cool concept with lots of potential. Like vampires can read minds, so it would be really funny if he really didn't care about solving anything, but he finds things out due to mind reading ANYWAY, and he's like "nooooo, shut up please" or he'll ACCIDENTALLY find clues but tries desperately NOT to figure out anything, and by the end he accidentally solves the case... like THAT WOULD BE SOME FUNNY SHIT. And he only sometimes goes to figure out cases just because that's the thing people know him for, he's just really good at solving every case he's done, and that's the only thing that pays the bills. It could be like One Punch Man or Mob Psycho 100 in the sense that he can easily do one thing, but it isn't satisfying for him so he jumps back and forth between wanting to improve other aspects of his life (Mob Psycho style) and just trying to re-kindle that spark of what he's really good at even though it brings him no happiness (One Punch man style)... you know what, that sounds fucking cool. Someone better do that shit or I'll be mad.

Realizing 4 months is 4 years in Internet time, I ran into a truly wasted anime. The world itself held promise it was interesting, the characters were good enough for me to relate with in some sense, and the premise was hilarious, engaging, and full of potential, and it was just all blown past and ignored. Honestly the whole thing pissed me off.

Realizing 4 months is 4 years in Internet time, I ran into a truly wasted anime. The world itself held promise it was interesting, the characters were good enough for me to relate with in some sense, and the premise was hilarious, engaging, and full of potential, and it was just all blown past and ignored. Honestly the whole thing pissed me off.
