    It really hurts seeing these negative comments about this guy's life !!
    People, he is building his life with his own hands, he didn't use the introvert life or being a slave to his computer. He's doing a hard work and giving must of his time to achieve his goals.
    if you gonna say he has to get some time and meet his friends, well we don't know about his personal life but he probably meet them, But not daily cause that will be a waste of a productive time.
    It's good to be social, but not 24/7. To achieve your goal you have to be with yourself for must of the time :)

    Thank you for makin this video. It is accurate and alot of people who wanted to get into the field don't understand the lifestyle of a programmer. It is really sitting in front of the computer everyday and depending on your company and any time available will be used for other things like working out or eating. It can also be more complex like some people need to wake up around 3am or 4 am just to go to a meeting with other engineers that lives in different timezones. There is no one answer but depending on your situation it can change drastically.

    I'm sure it's not exactly this every, single day. I work from home providing residential computer services. My daughter is in her last year at uni and my son is a software engineer. He also works from home, but not quite like Kalle. 3-4 days a week, he lives in his pajamas- lol. Depending on how late he was up or how much/little he got done the day before dictates the following day's "work-flow". The other 1-2 days, he'll dress & travel by public transport to the city to meet up with his boss and sometimes one or two other of the team, depending on who's there (they all do the same as my son, work from home & meet up when necessary). The "office" is really just a meet-up building, in other words. None of us are breakfast people, but he takes a break for lunch & watches ridiculous YT videos (laughing his head off) while he eats. He does take time away to have a walk or just to rest his eyes. If he's not as productive as he'd like during a day, he'll put in a few more hours in the early evening after a shower and dinner. Otherwise, he goes to friend's places, has friends stay here, goes out to eat, is teaching himself Japanese, and likes online gaming.
    Unlike one comment about this sounding like a robot-life, you'd never meet such a sweet, caring, funny or DTE guy as my son. He loves programming and is naturally gifted at it (that helps). He has loads of good friends and enjoys an active social life. As with anything else, life is what you make it.

      Linux and MacOs are the same! MacOs is the better version.

    • @IdrissNeumann
      @IdrissNeumann 5 лет назад +5

      @@proud805 The OSS community on mac is very small, the default shell is a very old version of Bash, the default commands are very old versions of POSIX SV commands and not GNU (so it misses plenty of cool options), the OSS package system is very poor, and your project devops tools (bash scripts, delivery package system, even the build of docker images, etc) are often not compliant with your servers in production. The OS itself stands on at least 5GB which is huge. It's more usable than Windows but it's far from being the better environment for programmers. Linux is free and better :) (I'd choose the RedHat family: CentOS/RHEL for production, Fedora for local workstation).
