2 most important things you will see in "day in the life of software developer" videos:
1. Their food routine
2. Their workout routine
because we wanted to show you we are human. We are eating we are living...
Why all these "A day in life" videos use the same genre of music?
In some videos use the same song.
because of copyright.
From the beginning I knew it was some type of lofi music lol
What? You want them to play cowboys from hell in the background? XD
Whats the name of the songs??
It really hurts seeing these negative comments about this guy's life !!
People, he is building his life with his own hands, he didn't use the introvert life or being a slave to his computer. He's doing a hard work and giving must of his time to achieve his goals.
if you gonna say he has to get some time and meet his friends, well we don't know about his personal life but he probably meet them, But not daily cause that will be a waste of a productive time.
It's good to be social, but not 24/7. To achieve your goal you have to be with yourself for must of the time :)
Yep he is happy that's matter
"success is a lonely road"
@@kimberlyhuynh7840 Exactly. Late sleeping, Early waking, less socializing .. but at the end you'll live the life you want. ( Suffer now, and you'll be happy and relaxed later ).

“A day in the life of a married Software engineer with 2 toddlers and a pregnant wife“
Trust me, interesting content. No gym, no fancy cooking, no food, no bike rides. Pure coffee and kicking my kids out of my home office 5 mins before every meeting and my wife asking me 300 questions throughout the day.
Sounds like hell.
Actually I have seen people doing that in many Asian families mostly in South Asia.
I am with you mate. 3 Kids here! Once you've taken the oath you'll stick with it! 😂😂
You got right. Is other life
yeah! It will amazing content. I pretend to watch. xD
Sitting with jeans at home ..that discipline my friend :)
My teacher said that if you going to work home office, the best practice is to wear the clothes that you would use at a regular office, it helps with procrastination and others.
@@FBHI It does help, as I've noticed while studying at home
@@FBHI Exactly, That what i want to say but you already said it :)

... ah midnight, here we go again
Wow... You are truly a very disciplined person and developer. You wake up 5 am and start working that’s impressive especially when developers don’t event wake up that early
Why you guys hating on this dude. He’s trying to live his life, trying to make a video that came to him. He’s enjoying his life!
The video didn't come to him. He has a schedule to make videos and advertise products, and that's what he's doing. Every senior software developer knows how fake this is.
Thank you for makin this video. It is accurate and alot of people who wanted to get into the field don't understand the lifestyle of a programmer. It is really sitting in front of the computer everyday and depending on your company and any time available will be used for other things like working out or eating. It can also be more complex like some people need to wake up around 3am or 4 am just to go to a meeting with other engineers that lives in different timezones. There is no one answer but depending on your situation it can change drastically.
I'm a software engineer too and this is a more realistic schedule :
Wake up at 8
8-9 breakfast/shower
9-9:30 commute to work
9:30-11 meetings/discussions with ppl ..
11-13 coding
13-14 lunch break
14-17 code/google problems ..
17-18 debriefing and scheduling for tomorrow's work
18-20 go back to the house/get groceries /dinner..
20-late youtube,netflix,social media
2/10 people workout in my office and they're those who actually don't have any other responsibilities outside of work
And 1/10 cooks their own meal ..
i clicked this video without reading the title and i got an ad about "so you wanna become a software engineer?" i skipped that ad and i read the title and it was this
I'm working as a developer for almost 20 years and the last 2 years in home office. This life in the video is a typical day, if you girlfriend isn't home at the weekend, your boss or project managers are on holiday or drunk, your cat/dog is very old an sleeping all the day, you are an orphan, your smartphone has no sim card and you don't have any friends :D But the video was good :-)
Your comment made my day 😄

this is the most depressive life style i've ever seen.
depressive? wtf, i wish to have a life like this, without so many people bothering
or you are not a real software developer ;)
yeah but it's a lot less problematic trust me
i would rather do this than travel to an office and deal with office bullshit every day

I love your life. Maybe I'll get a one like yours. No bs coding, working out and living life.
Great to hear! Do it! ;)
I'm sure it's not exactly this every, single day. I work from home providing residential computer services. My daughter is in her last year at uni and my son is a software engineer. He also works from home, but not quite like Kalle. 3-4 days a week, he lives in his pajamas- lol. Depending on how late he was up or how much/little he got done the day before dictates the following day's "work-flow". The other 1-2 days, he'll dress & travel by public transport to the city to meet up with his boss and sometimes one or two other of the team, depending on who's there (they all do the same as my son, work from home & meet up when necessary). The "office" is really just a meet-up building, in other words. None of us are breakfast people, but he takes a break for lunch & watches ridiculous YT videos (laughing his head off) while he eats. He does take time away to have a walk or just to rest his eyes. If he's not as productive as he'd like during a day, he'll put in a few more hours in the early evening after a shower and dinner. Otherwise, he goes to friend's places, has friends stay here, goes out to eat, is teaching himself Japanese, and likes online gaming.
Unlike one comment about this sounding like a robot-life, you'd never meet such a sweet, caring, funny or DTE guy as my son. He loves programming and is naturally gifted at it (that helps). He has loads of good friends and enjoys an active social life. As with anything else, life is what you make it.
Tracy LF is he gay?? I am open for him if he is gay...really..
So this is where ur channel blow up.. thumbs up man.. i learned coding as well but in college -_- and majoring in bioinformatics so basically i need to control my stupid brain from memorizing medical stuffs to understanding a lot of language tht my "untalented" lecturer taught. She did really finish up a 200 slides in 50 minutes. It made 400 slides in 100 minutes per week. Idk why im here but it s nice to be here :')
And i like my own comment :)
This intro music is used for every “day in the life...” video
Name of the Music?
it's called lofi beats.. search it and you will get plenty of it
The way he changes clothes reminds me of the Sims 😂
I've always wanted to be a software engineer but I haven't even graduated high school yet. I've been programming since I was 11 and right now I'm developing my own social media platform all alone. I did the whole front end and back end and hopefully that will help with my future. And yes, it works but I need to fix some security bugs
Im 24 and struggling to learn basic html and css lol so youre ahead
I'm so happy to see this video and you're in good, thank you for sharing us
Thank you! :)
frontend design with macOS is not software engeneering !
Actually frontend designer uses MacOs more often. I prefer MacOs to every programmer... Windows is a headache.
@@proud805 windows is a sicking nightmare for real oss programmers and MacOS is more acceptable indeed. But real oss programmers are using Linux :p
Linux and MacOs are the same! MacOs is the better version.
@@proud805 The OSS community on mac is very small, the default shell is a very old version of Bash, the default commands are very old versions of POSIX SV commands and not GNU (so it misses plenty of cool options), the OSS package system is very poor, and your project devops tools (bash scripts, delivery package system, even the build of docker images, etc) are often not compliant with your servers in production. The OS itself stands on at least 5GB which is huge. It's more usable than Windows but it's far from being the better environment for programmers. Linux is free and better :) (I'd choose the RedHat family: CentOS/RHEL for production, Fedora for local workstation).
@Salman Khan that's the point, it's not really software engeneering as I said :p
this is exactly a day in my life. the only difference is i play computer games instead of writing codes.

My experience in engineering school has shown me that engineers are not that much smarter than non-engineers. The difference is stamina and belief in your ability. Engineering is about persevering until you find the solution.
I think that's true, and also holds for a lot of other things :)
