Fun fact: On the original recording, Ray Thomas' flute part is doubled by Mike Pinder playing the mellotron in flute mode, giving it all a fuller sound.
I found this wonderful concert recently, Your voice in this song is just so beautiful and heartfelt, I’ve listened so many times now. Justin, I was brought up in Swindon and am so proud I can say I know your birthplace so well, it gives me more of a connection 🥹💕 “The sound I have heard in your hello..” resonates so deep within me…..
Justin sang this song beautifully. I love this version the best to which I have ever seen and heard. His songs are timeless. I would rather listen to the Moodies and Justin than any other singer now or in the past. He sings this song with true love and devotion. I get so emotional hearing him sing "Oh Darling, you are a part of me" and "you're all I ever see." He had me at the "Oh Darling" many years ago. Of course his voice was lower then. He is such a romantic person and would have to be. I think this song comes from the struggles of two people in love but are separated due to the entertainment business. It must be hard. I could never do it. I miss my husband when he is on another piece of land farming/harvesting the crops. This song brings those emotions to the front and I miss him more. The words are so powerful. I am ever grateful for the kindness of Justin for uploading past performances on RUclips. I have many favorites from other people uploading old concerts. But Justin's picks are special, because I have never seen these before. We all so enjoy his performances. He is a great singer, songwriter, & guitar player, but most of all, he is a humble person who cares for his devoted fans. I hope he keeps these videos up for us to return to when we need an appearance of Justin for a bit in our lives.
Just as good as ever my favorite songwriter, singer, band ,for my entire life. My friends in the eternity. AS all moody blues fans know we are connected by something spiritually eternally great. An Empathic wave
C. 00:20 AEST 10.Aug.2021, Australia: Standing Ovation Yes Indeed! This song and your beautiful recreation of its spirit gives us much needed good cheer now. Thank you :).
Thank You... ( through the tears and so many years.. of memories associated with this song and special love intertwined in those thoughts and memories of love)
... yes, Tam, in this one, Justin gives it his all, nothing is held back, and it has become my very most favorite version of The Actor. He even cries on his extention of share. It's perfect ...
... Yes, Violet dreams. This Coach House performance was really something extraordinary. I've been playing it over and over, this past week, especially this rendition of The Actor, it was Justin, singing exquisitely at a peak moment, and I'm so glad that it was recorded property ...
This is another all-time favorite, so glad to hear it here :-) I have always loved Moodies music, but have only begun to really study what youtube has to offer about the band. In an interesting convergence I happened to be reading the Higher & Higher "fanzine" issues and was on #38 which has an article about the SJC concerts and then #39 which has a review of the Video and CD of this as Justin began posting these performances. So far they have been posted in order of the concert set list, except that "Children of Paradise" is listed as following "Blue Guitar" and it hasn't dropped on the Flashback Friday presentations yet. For those of you that joined the in-depth interest in all things Moody only recently --- like me --- I highly recommend reading the archived issues of H & H. I especially like the retrospectives on the making of the individual albums done from interviews of people involved with their production. Thanks for sharing these for those of us that couldn't be there at the time.
... Hmm, for me, this particular live captured rendition of The Actor shows Justins' voice in his full flight best. My favourite Moodies album is EGBDF and I was peaking on a purple micro dot the first time I heard it. Played it 4 times in a row and it just kept sounding better than it previously did, which, consequently, compelled me to have to go out and buy it ...
We will be eternally grateful that our Heavenly Father gave us such a wonderful artist as Justin Hayward.
I agree 💯
Amen !!
Amen
This is awesome. Love reading the comments from your fans. 💖
Fun fact: On the original recording, Ray Thomas' flute part is doubled by Mike Pinder playing the mellotron in flute mode, giving it all a fuller sound.
I have never seen this recording without the rest of the Moodies. A hauntingly beautiful song.

@JustinHayward-music
Hi Justin, thank you for creating great music and lyrics throughout the years.
In search if the lost chord great album
Was this at the Coach House ?
I had second chair from stage at Dave Mason at the Coach House.
Stop flicking those eyes Justin your driving me crazy
where is the orginal band members?
Beautiful song, but it’s missing the flute
Justin Hayward is flawless but the drums are too harsh.
Great song but bad mixing. The drum is way too loud, the guitar and bass should stand out more.
One of my favorite song.
lovely and romantic . No one does it better.💖💖💖
Mine too ,I love his voice, going to see him in London on Friday for the first time,I can't wait ❤
