- The Nissan GTR is such an interesting and polarizing car, even after I've driven so many of them. I want to not like it, and in some ways I don't like it, but under the right conditions, when you really get to open it up, you realize just how special the Nissan GTR is, and how easy it is to get all that power to the ground.

The minimum mod you wanna do to a GTR is at least a tune with exhaust get it up to an easy 600hp, pretty much unlocking some of the power which is held back from factory

Had Nissan been allowed to sell them in the states from the beginning , American performance cars would have had to been alot better a long time ago to keep pace.

How much horsepower is enough ? Well, it's a tough question. No matter how much you have you will get used to power. So if you want to be surprised by the acceleration you never have enough.

Amazing car. Although personally I like to pick my performance parts 1 by 1 and do my research to make sure I'm getting the best quality parts I can get. Shops hate me. I rarely let somebody else work on my car and when they do i have high expectations. Like the only shop that worked on my car in the last year welded my new exhaust. And wow, its leaking now. Just a pinhole cracked weld. But its like damn. Time to get a mig welder and a two post lift. That way I do not have to rely on anybody else to be competent except myself
The NSX did it first, then the GTR was the next car to force exotic car makers and supercar makers to really push their game.

The launch and transmission issues were a problem in 2009 only. After that, they changed the programming and after 2012, the transmissions had different components.
