I'm not a brony by any means. Know nothing about the show or any fanfictions, but Twitter led me to this series of songs, and they are produced better than most "professional" songs you hear mainstream. These songs are absolute fire and I enjoy them even not being a brony. Keep it up!

Literally everytime I hear this song, the story behind it gets clearer and more interesting. Stabilize pt 1 isn't my favorite music style, pt 3 is catchy but not so deep, and this one just blows away the competition for me. Amazing story and amazing lyrics.
Actually a big part of why I like this one so much more than part 3 is because part 3 doesn't make very much use of the conflict between Sweetie Bot's programming and her own will. This one complements the ideas behind the first one extremely well, showing that even years after she had to fight past her malicious programming, she's still confused and shocked that she's not what she thought she was. This struggle makes her a very interesting and very well developed character. Part 3 doesn't do that very well, though part 3 implies a returning of the malicious programming that has been at odds with her own will in part 1, so it's probably meant to be that way - part 3 has a strong theme of if: then: and other such programming language style things.
I disagree with the thoughts on part 3 - That one's my favorite because I imagine it entirely as an argument between the infiltrator personality and the combat personality. The fight aspect is just screaming to let it use force, whereas she isn't willing to call her old friends her enemies. It's completely her machine side saying "Look, if I did what they're doing, how could I not be your enemy?! Come on!"
I do agree that part 2 is phenomenal though and I have trouble deciding which of those two I like more.
@@CordialH Taking another listen to part 3, you are right - I can't quite understand the story that's going on there, but I can tell there's something much deeper than I originally thought. However I still stand by what I said about this one being by far my favorite and in my opinion it's still by far the deepest. Even now, years later, the story just gets more interesting each time I listen to it (I listened to it 2 times today and each time I've gotten a little more out of the story).
For example at 3:26 I always heard both parts of the lyrics as the internal struggle of Sweetie Bot as her self defense systems started up. But on my second listen today it clicked that the lyrics on the top are from the perspective of Applebloom and Scootaloo, and when I think of it that way it makes a LOT more sense.
listening to this again, i just realized.
during the last part where she said "take your best shot" there was a flash and then came the part were her memory slowly faded away.
did they shoot her, and damage her processor?
Year later, but she survived into Part 3 (Enemy Undefined), so I am not quite sure. :)

Not only does it rock, but I love the narrative and it paints such an amazing picture.
I like to think that Sweetie’s recurring statement “Take your best shot” speaks to 2 of her developments in this song.
First being her existential dread of realizing she’s a robot and her uncertainty of if she is a real person, and if she’s not then she thinks she doesn’t matter as much and would be better off dead.
Second is, if she does have any reason to live, it’s her friends that love her. And so if her friends don’t love her, she’s fine with them just ending her because she has nothing to go back to anyway.

There's an implication at 'Lost like me', that the remaining Crusaders are not what they think they are.
The Original Song, "Destabilize" implied Sweetie Bot was unaware she was a Robot, and this song further confirms it that she was unaware until the reveal, with the broken eye showing how She was revealed as an Android, as it's the most damaged part of her.
That single line may imply that Sweetie Bot may not be the only Robot disguised as a Pony, and is unaware of It, especially with the "I Swear they Used to Glow" part.
Of course, it could be that it's a POV switch to the ones who 'Put down' Sweetie Bot, but it wouldn't make sense since the lyrics state of being Lost in Data, unless of course, it shows that the ones who did are being Hypocrites, as in, they put down Sweetie Bot because she was already outed as a Robot... Even though they are kin to her.
Frankly, I hope that isn't the case. I would prefer a happy ending, though since this is 'Part 2', it implies there may be another story with a related Song.
This breathes new life and depth into Friendship is Witchcraft. Griffin and Jenny's amazing creation is still loved and not forgotten.

Some include Starset, Linkin Park, RED, Bad Wolves, Motionless In White, Crown The Empire, Famous Last Words, Avenged Sevenfold, Breaking Benjamin, I Prevail, Escape The Fate, Ice Nine Kills, Skillet, Our Last Night, Thousand Foot Krutch, Three Days Grace, My Darkest Days, Nine Lashes, and more. However, after listening to this song, I guess I need to put these bands on the backburner for the month!

I didn't even watch MLP at all and somehow accidentally stumbled on this channel and it got me interested and now I love the show solely based off of these songs so thanks for giving me a new favorite show Prince!

This reminds me of "The Broken Toy" MLP fanfiction
Each of the lyrics sound like they are super deep in the emotions of the story except for the second to last line. I might be missing a much deeper meaning here, but it really just sounds like you're trying to find a rhyme. Instead of "your eyes look different (I swear they used to glow)," I would've put "Now times are different! Now I've become your foe!" Or "have I become your foe?" And then have the finishing lines of the song. Just my thoughts though.
That's actually my favorite line. It emphasizes that they were once happy, but I also took it to mean that she once felt like one of them, having glowing eyes herself. Taken like that it cuts deeper than a simple acknowledgement of the conflict. It's sorrowful. It asks if any of the good times were real, for their sake as much as hers.
