    I was wondering where you get and how you shape the board the LEDs are on? What type of plastic is it and what materials other materials do you like to work with?
    Also how do you protect everything inside from water and how you manage heat?
    if you already have videos on this lemmy know, thanks :D

    Exactly my issue with my (4) tail light panels I made, not enough power 😭
    175 , 139, 139, 175 is my RGB count per board. I have power and ground running to each row to help distribute power and ground which helped but man I get flickering and sometimes a lone RGB will light up solo preventing the rest of the rgbs following from lighting up.
    I had to take a break after working on these bad boys day n nite. Very time consuming and if your a noob like me troubleshooting can be a PITA lol
    Oh, and I'm using (1) blue ghozt controller and (1) 12v-5v converter 20amps for the (4) panels.
    Appreciate your vids and input as always keep it up. I'm gonna have to try the capacitors and adding another 12v-5v converter to split between (2) vs my current (4) panels to see if that helps me.

  • @michaelskff
    @michaelskff Год назад

    I am doing tails like these right now and when I use a regular spi or any RGB controller everything works perfectly fine, when I plug the ghost in, I get flickering, I think ghost has a glitch in the software or something or maybe I have a defective unit

    • @zaccook
      @zaccook  Год назад +1

      that is odd!!
      I would make sure that you have enough amperage running through them. A test you can do is set the amount of leds lower if it doesn't stop flickering then you for sure have something wrong with the module.
      especially if the addressable leds do not have the capacitors built into them, they could be sucking up a lot of power.

    • @michaelskff

      @@zaccook I'm pretty sure voltage is not an issue I have two power sources and four power connections on the board directly bright white and everything is as white as possibly can be there's no yellowing at all. I should probably break out the multimeter and read the voltages around the area that it's flickering. But I just don't understand why every controller works perfectly fine but the ghost

    I have a question for you. If we want to set the last LED in green, the "green" data have to pass throught all the others LED placed before the last one ? Like it's full adressable LED but we can control then 1 by 1 ?

    • @zaccook
      @zaccook  Год назад

      correct to control just the last led you'll need to run the date through all of the other leds first. Then in whatever controller you're using you can set each led to what ever color you want.

    Do you not need resistors? Sorry for the newbie question

    • @zaccook
      @zaccook  Год назад +1

      All good! For these no resistors are needed
      Since they are addressable we are going to feed them the 5v that these require (via a 12v to 5v converter)
      They will need capacitors if they are NOT built in like this batch of them from Illumaesthetic.
      But Illumaesthetic has since switched to the next level Neo LEDs which have the caps built into the led
