I have been trying to understand the stock market for quite some time, but every video I have watched uses a lot of terminology that I am not familiar with. This video was great, you explained everything clearly for someone like me who is a beginner. I love all the examples and I am especially glad I finally understand limits and their pros and cons.

Thanks. Make sure to subscribe to my channel this time ;-)
Something should have been said about bid and ask and the relationship the different order types have with the bid and ask. For instance, a market order will purchase your shares at the ask price. If there aren't enough shares to fill your order on the lowest price at the ask, your order will fill at the next available share price on the ask. A limit order puts your offer to buy on the bid price until someone decides to sell you shares at that price. I was just explaining order types to someone yesterday at work. I will point him to this video
True, but I'm not trying to overwhelm new people with these details that don't really matter. Yes, a limit buy puts you on the bid, but I'd consider that a background detail. You are 100% right though.
i agree with game heads2012....can you make another video on this topic but cover asks and bids please? I'm sure newbies will catch on and appreciate too
I already have videos on that (and more), found here: claytrader.com/courses/mastering-level-2/

Great video, thanks for making this. Just out of curiosity, and i'm sure this is hard to know just wanted some incite to your experience, but how often does the limit you set to sell at get "skipped over"?
If your limit order to sell gets "skipped", that would imply your order went through, because if the price goes higher than your limit, then by definition, the order would go through.

Wyatt Berry3 weeks ago
Could you set a limit stop loss at say 24.90, and a market stop loss at 24.80? as a kind of safety in case it skips through your limit stop loss like you said could happen if it moves fast enough? or can you only have 1 set?

Clay Trader, is it Better to Buy Stocks Individually OR to Buy a Stocks-Only Mutual Fund!? And Why!?
I have an entire video training course on that here - claytrader.com/courses/grow-rich/
It is better to buy the stocks in a mutual fund. Specifically an index fund with rock bottom expenses like a total stock market index fund. You can get index funds from Vanguard, Fidelity, Schwab, T. Rowe Price, etc. Studies show that even mutual fund managers who actively buy stocks for their mutual funds do not beat the index funds long term. So what chance does the individual investor have picking stocks. The broker costs makes picking stocks a losing proposition.
I'm 12 and do I think it's possible if I buy and sell stocks if I use my parents stuff but only with there permission
