This is my view of the tornadoes on April 26, 2024 that happened between Minden and Harlan Iowa. SUBSCRIBE for more videos.
The 2nd most memorable tornado of the year for me, great capture man
Thank you! Lincoln, Greenfield and these are the top ones for me. Hard decision for tornado of the year.
The rotation speed on that monster is incredible. And the golf ball sized hail just getting thrown around like it's nothing, insane.
A lot of this is sped up by 40 percent.
@@RideAcrossTheRiver ah. Even still it looks incredible
A beast with a thousand faces. I enjoy your videos because you don't shout and get overexcited. You let your footage speak for itself.
Thank you I appreciate that
Amen
That thing exactly looks like the El Reno monster..
2ND best tornado footage i have ever seen.
Thank you. I was at El Reno too and that one was just insane
Also i'm really wondering how big the windfield of that tornado was.. (not the El Reno)
@@AverageHelicityPlayer Officially it was 0.97 of a mile ... basically a mile wide.
@@AverageHelicityPlayerI think the f and EF scale are rigged are its just BS beacuse i think is an ef5 now it cahuld be an EF4
@@Walrus498yeah. Like the Omaha tornado earlier this year.
It was recently upgraded to a weak-end of an F4, but that monster had to have been a high-end F4 at least.
I ran into that debris by truck on I80.....road was slick from rain....Minden devastated...we lost one person but none of us will ever be the same....thanks for clip.....helps put what I saw together...thought it was multivittexed
It definitely was multi vortex at a few points. I am happy you are safe.
Not only is this one of the “cleanest” tornadoes I’ve ever seen but it also has the most intense curl I think I’ve ever seen. Just wow! Incredible footage
Thank you! I appreciate that
The sirens that day in Minden went off three times before the tornado hit the town I’m a Minden resident that was displaced by the storm losing our house and cars
So sorry to hear that but happy you are safe
Might as well be a mythological monster from a movie! Horrifying!
Harlan is my hometown. I am 69 years old, and I don’t remember anything remotely as big as that ever hitting the area before. Kind of ironic that our team name is Cyclones, and there is one painted on the water tower by the high school.
It's definitely on the larger side. Hopefully you were not impacted by it.
No, thank you, I wasn’t. There is a picture of it going right past my brother’s place, missing it.
Great video! This tornado 🌪️ was a monster 👿 going all the way from Minden to Harlan in many different forms-I hope you didn’t get your windshield busted when you tracked the storm ⛈️! Anyway, good job! 👍 🥰😀⚡️
Thank you! I avoided the hail.
Someone already said it but, that monster looks like El reno, also it looks like the final tornado from into the storm {2014} movie
I have heard the movie reference a couple times... I need to re-watch it.
Wow, the sucking power from that distance is incredible
That's what he said!
That sounds wrong, but trust me it’s not what it looks like
After having an internal debate, I decided to comment. Saying that it is just a rotating column of air is incredibly dismissive of something that can completely destroy neighborhoods, upend peoples lives, and take lives. To those who are impacted by them it is so much more.
True, but everything possesses this duality if you think about it. The sunlight with which we buy our existence at the cost of the entropic death of the universe, merely photons released as a result of fusion of hydrogen into helium, a gold ring being a measly sliver of an element formed in ultramarine supernovae, the breasts on a person merely adipose tissue and mammary glands. A bullet being a hunk of kinetically charged lead. It's all so simple yet all so consequential
You need a Kleenex…?
Yeah it's not just a rotating column of air, they are a rotating column of air, low pressure, when they collect broken glass, trees, cars, boards, roofs, and thousands of various other debris, they are intense and deadly force of atmosphere. They can't be reasoned with or controlled much like a masked killer. Oh and the sound of all of it is rather unsettling.
Yup!
I must agree.
Madness. The Minden Tornado is chaos defined without words.
Definitely
I've never seen somethin with that big and low of a wall cloud + windfield. Not fluent in meteorological records but it coulda easily been an El Reno contender. Amazing footage
I appreciate that thank you! It was definitely a memorable tornado and tornado day with the earlier ones in Nebraska.
I think that siren stopped too soon. Do they have a radius area they cover? If it moves out of thecarea the siren stops?
Yes but in this case I drove out of the town it was going off in.
Siren got wiped out...am from town close by
Is there any point where the tornado is at its peak width (timestamp)?
I believe it was at its max width at the beginning of the video where it is crossing the road. Earlier in its life it maintains about 400 yards in width.
@@stormchaserjameswilson thanks
wild footage !!!!!!!!
Thanks man I appreciate it... What a crazy day
That's some intense footage, brohem.
Thanks man!
Are these clips in chronological order? This is amazing footage of an evolving monster, and I felt like some of the later clips were the storm developing, or was it devolving? Lol.
This is dangerous work. Be careful. And thank you!
Other than the opening clip yes it is in order as it happened. It was a stovepipe, multi-vortex and a wedge all multiple times.
@@stormchaserjameswilson when you say multi vortices does that mean multiple funnels? I’m a complete novice about these things. We have them in Australia but mostly they are in unpopulated regions.
@Vovo-zx4ql I'm in WA, and we've had some in residential areas. Bunbury has been hit a couple of times, and Serpentine, just south east of Perth. My brother lives there, and when we went to see him afterwards. Massive trees had been ripped up and thrown about. Serpentine is basically a village, but not one home was destroyed. They were unbelievably lucky.
Surreal footage, bro
Thank you
As fascinating as these videos are lives matter more. Please keep safe.
Always
2024 was genuinely the craziest year for non rain wrapped tornadoes. Too bad like all of them were completely random.
2024 is full of natural disasters, too much damage
Looks crazier then any tornado in any movie
Definitely rememberable
My computer monitor screen is the closest I ever want to get to one of those !!!!
Lol I understand that
Amazing footage.
Thank you!
Great video!
Why did you cut it off at 346. Did it hit that farm.??
Just some editing to limit the length. That house only had every minor damage.
Impressive footage.
Regardless of the really impressive looking wedge shape, It's not too hard to see that this wasn't the most powerful tornado ever (just comparing with some other videos on YT), which allowed to film so relatively close clearly.
Yes it was only an EF3 though it had a better stronger wedge shape near Minden. Check out my Lincoln tornado video from the same day. I have EF5 Moore video too from 2013
Great footage
Thank you
This is why I like to live in a mountainous terrain lol
Tornadoes 🌪 can still hit there and have too.
What a monster!
One sight , monster precisely chased the blue shirt 🤔
EF 5?
No it was an EF3
holy shit!!!!! why do you guys still live in tornado alley??
It's really something to see
@@stormchaserjameswilsonyeah
I’ve never looked at a video of a tornado and actually see how fast it’s actually moving. It’s like it had a mind of its on and it has somewhere to be..
It was definitely moving fast
Umm... guys, the UFO has some issues landing on its spot...
Definitely lol
Someone took the opportunity to have selfie 1:00 with a monster wedge tornado in the background
You think that you have problems, than you see something like this, and you wish just to stay alive to face your problems, to have the luxury of still being alive to be able to face your problems.
is this f5?
Amazing no it was only an EF3
How big
@@stormchaserjameswilsonupgraded to EF4 just this week by the NWS
@@alexis_ian that was the Elkhorn Nebraska tornado these are the Minden and Harlan Iowa tornadoes
When I see these tornado vids, I wonder what those people in those nearby houses are doing and thinking when these monsters of nature are so close to them.
In this case, luckily most houses were empty at the time.
A magnificent monster
Absolutely memorable
Wonder how many rear-end collisions happen watching a tornado while driving
You would think a lot but I have only seen one since I started chasing in 2008. I have not had any issues at all :knockingonwood:
@nmjameswilson good luck to you, because I know I definitely wouldn't have a front bumper & all the other chasers would mysteriously have no back ones
Nice.
Thank you
I wonder if tiv2 or dominator3 got an intercept in that wedge
I don't think TIV was around but I saw the Dominater earlier in the day in Nebraska for the Lincoln and Elkhorn tornadoes
What diameter was this thing?
It was just under a mile wide (0.97)
Thats the same tornado that took our neighborhood and home in Elkhorn Nebraska
Sorry to hear the Elkhorn tornado took your home that was a bad one for sure. These were the same day but further east in Iowa.
@@stormchaserjameswilson Thank you. It was a crazy day for sure 🙏
The Elkhorn tornado was another vicious, wild storm
This particular tornado had an el-reno look
Definitely did at points
ef4?
EF3
Wow
Menudo tornado de cuña, espero que no haya ningún pueblo destruido
It did a lot of damage but they will rebuild.
would you like your supercell super sized 😮 4:20 crossing the road
What a monster it was!
Gonna need to play a low one in there. Wind might catch it.
That's a big tornado
Bravo !
I've 1st Ever Seen An Intentional Drive Towards Inside A Monster.
🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
AllahuQaviun ❤
Thank you
so scary
I would not want to be in its path that's for sure
@@stormchaserjameswilson yes
OK
THATS THE EF5 FROM INTO THE STORM
Nice comparison... It looks similar
Весело вам там живется, слов нет. Грибы-дождевики по полю ходят 🤦♂️ сюр.
Да, в переулке торнадо все совсем по-другому.
@@stormchaserjameswilson слов нет, каков плов вы наварили из слов. Top на do.
Jesus.....a blind guy could follow that beast
Yes but what a sight 😎
I don't miss des moines any more I'm good on go back
Guy passing them on motorcycle is a lunatic!
I wish someone could show me a tornado (IRL) but I’m 11 so no one will take me cuz I’m too young but tornado alley is apparently moving to my area so yes and no😂
There will still be tornadoes when you get older. 👍
Tornado ally ain’t moving. Tornado ally is a geological area from what I know. However, the occurrence of tornados might become more common the more extreme weather seasons get.
Same here, i'm 14 and I have a growing interest in tornadoes & atmospheric phenomena, I have it on my bucket list and hopefully in the future I can afford to visit tornado alley to do some storm chasing
Just a bit too close there.
Close but safe 😁
Tornado F6?💀
EF3
#tornado
1:00 1min EF5
hey guys maybe don't stop in the middle of the road
The police had blocked the road behind us there was no traffic coming through. Plus I doubt anybody was dumb enough to drive under the tornado except for us. 🤣
@@stormchaserjameswilson ah, i see. thanks for the info
Two more weeks
😯WTF ! .
F5 huh
It was only an EF3
@@stormchaserjameswilson oh they rate it by its damage it’s done take EL Reno the biggest tornado ever it’s was rated an EF3 the ef scale is messed up
I saw El Reno too and it was definitely a beast! Yes damage determines the rating... Elkhorn was just upgraded to an EF4 yesterday due to damage
@@stormchaserjameswilson yeah
@@stormchaserjameswilsonalso the el Korn tornado flattened 2 homes but they were not well ancerd
Isto não é a força natural da natureza, tem forças do mal, por trás desses grandes acontecimentos na terra, diz a bíblia aí da terra é do mar pois o diabo desceu até vós, cheio de grande cólera, temos que orar e vigiar, Jesus está voltando.

Remember...it's just a rotating column of air
After having an internal debate I decided to comment. Saying it's just a rotating column of air is incredibly dismissive of something that can completely destroy neighborhoods, upend peoples lives, and take lives. For those impacted by tornadoes it is so much more.
@@mickeytheredBut it is just a rotating column of air. That is exactly what it is, no more, no less. Acknowledging this simple physical truth, does not in any way diminish the suffering and tragedy of those affected by this meteorological phenomena. Mythologizing it into a force of evil, or anything more than the elemental factors that give rise to a tornado, does not help those affected. It does not help anyone.
So no concern when you stopped about whether anyone is hurt in the house beside you that’s destroyed? Class act you are!
Note the video stops as did I.
The victims would have a right to privacy, especially if they just got whacked by a tornado... No need to include search & rescue in a tornado video
What a hateful thing to say....this helps know where it's going
You sound like a short tempered prick, the way you wrote that comment. You could go about it differently. Ask questions next time. Be a little more kind and respectful.
Bet you feel stupid as hell right now
Wow
