Jerry Mason went from PIttsburgh to "Shindig" in an instant.

Jerry Mason was the son of immigrants. From wanted to escape his poor childhood in Pittsburgh. Jerry was a good looking guy who was blessed with a golden voice. It looked like the recipe for a teen idol. He had a wonderful opportunity and what appeared to be a great future. With everything in his favor he still did not make it to the big time. He never had a major hit, and he was dropped by each record label that recorded him. Jerry didn't get over the hurdles that would have allowed him to be a real star. He tells Tom his story.
