    Zack just posted a video of the seminar we did in DC that goes over a progression we use while teaching the snatch. It gives a little insight into our methodologies.
    We will still be addressing this hip pop video, highlighting what we believe to be incorrect and giving our own prescription for fixing the issues Ben talks about in this video.
    We in no way are doing this to troll Ben, I just happened to come across his video. He asked for a video so we decided to do one as this is an issue we also see from crossfitters that switch to weightlifting.

      What's up Collin - I really appreciate this response. I've added Zack's video to the description here because he did an awesome job explaining the nuance of "extension" and "power position" that I failed to explain properly here. Also, he wasn't brutal and didn't burn me too much, which I sincerely appreciate 😂. As I mention in the comments over on his video, I learned a lot from it and look forward to developing a better eye beyond my current capacity as a coach. What I thought was a simple troll has turned into a great learning experience. 💪👍

      WODprep hey Ben , I’m actually glad this turned out as well as it did. I think there was a lot of opportunity for both of us to handle this very poorly but it ended up being productive and informative as it should have been. That doesn’t happen very often on the internet these days. I’m glad we were able to clear this up and hopefully you learned something from it. If you ever are looking for any more information regarding the snatch and clean and jerk that you’re unsure of we’re always available. Wish you the best of luck with your future videos!

    This is a completely serious question.
    How do I avoid scraping / hitting my man parts on the way up for a snatch or clean?
    Please help this is a very major issue for me

    • @martinperezjr.9280
      @martinperezjr.9280 Год назад

      Find your snatch grip first. Then scoop under the bar when you’ve gone past the knees. Your snatch grip on the power position should place the barbell between your hips and your man parts. And jump up. If it still hitting your probably early pulling with your arms and your not in a true power position. Good luck.

    People coming in saying that the video is wrong (Tong/Collin/Callan/Carson) but then not offering any points to help make things better. WodPrep with the positive replies (love that), but detracting comments without solutions are not constructive... a waste of everyone's time. Suggest something, don't be a troll. How about "In the video, your shoulders are too far back at the end of your triple extension - where the exaggeration is visually helpful, it can lead to a hitch for getting under the bar..." Crack the nut.
