First thing I do before I start watching any of your videos is like it because I know the quality is there and I’ve been watching them for years. Thanks JW 😊

Cheers John 💪 I’ve always prefered to fit a dual rcd Hager or Crabtree consumer unit maybe splashing out the £25 for a couple of rcbos for the outside lights or outside sockets over a lewden board with 10 x £12 rcbos. Should I stop being judgemental of the £12 rcbos 😂
    Love your videos!

At the risk of being pedantic, (sorry I can't help myself) (at 11:55) BS EN 62423 isn't new. The only change to that line from how it appears in the blue book is the addition of a comma and the word "or".

Great video can you clarify the upstream rcd requirement from 7288? I see this mentioned in the scope but none of the clauses so should not require upstream. Am I misunderstanding?

Wondered myself. ? Are RCDs required to protect cables, some folk say not for armoured cables e.g. to supply EV charging points or to outbuildings where running back to the 'house' in the snow simply to reset an RCD is tedious. Guess each cable run has to be considered separately.

@@oldbutstillcurious3615 there are times when cables need to be protected by RCD’s in domestic premises so buried less than 50mm so on and so forth but I wouldn’t generally be shoving a SRCD there. I’m thinking more commercial on electrack systems and floor boxes as to how this wouldn’t work
