Wow, I have experienced this since my childhood, never could run more than 4-5 minutes with good speed, but I never knew the term. Recently, I joined the gym and felt the same, now I know what it's called, Thanks.
For me I’m young I’m in 9th grade, & I’ve been having pain in the area above my belly button and it’s always after like one good sprint, it happened to me when I played a soccer game and about 2 years ago, I ate a Krispy Kreme donut before the game because I thought it would be good to put something on my stomach as soon as I started running the area above my belly button started hurting. I don’t know what it is but I was thinking about seeing a doctor about

It also could mean that running or any kind of intense exercise is causing your body's temperature to rise which then causes the gut barrier to weaken which is why some people feel sick after exercising. What you can do is strengthen your gut barrier with supplements like L glutamine.

Yesterday I ran uphill. And got a stitch.. At half point from my home. I became afraid what to do.. So I just walked slowly, reached home and searched video and thx for the info.. I felt much more better today...

Thanks. I have noticed that I get the stitch when I start out fast. I do walk before but I sprint the first half. I’ll try talking it slow at first and the gradually speed up.
Or maybe you were not maintaining a gap of atleast an hour between your pre-workout meal and your workout. And in case of a large meal like lunch, do maintain a gap of atleast 2 hours.
I literally do all these steps yet I still got it while at my XC meet today I was 20th place then had to start jogging because the pain was sooo bad and lost my medal 😞

I may be an outlier, but from running cross country and distance track for four years, I can eat a foot long sub two hours before the race or even a 6" one hour before and I'm perfectly fine. I think part of it is just becoming a consistent runner and overtime you won't get cramps as often
If you get a side stitch while running the best thing to do is tighten your core/ tightening your stomach but enough to be able to breath and run, most side stitches are caused by organs in your body moving around when running tightening will make them stop

Man it's hard when you get shitty genes. You just have to learn when to slow down and know your body better than most folks. But it can get discouraging when you feel pain when others breeze through physical activity. But it's important to push through the pain that way you can truly call yourself stronger than before.

Actually I experience pain on my lower right abdomen while dancing this is the second time, the first time is when I did jumping jacks. But it just happened to me now last time since childhood I don’t experience this that’s why I think I have some disease.

Sometimes I feel stinging above my belly button,sometimes below or on the side but ones I stop walking it goes away, how am I suppose to exercise while feeling like someone is stabbing my stomach 🤧🤧
Hi! That can be one of the reasons. 1) Maintained a gap of atleast 1.5 to 2 hours b/w a major meal and your running session. Have something like a banana or nuts 20-30 mins before a run. 2) Do dynamic warm up exercises before your run. 3) Try and breathe deep either through your nose or mouth while running. Run regularly. Our house construction was going and I moved a 12 kg sack of sand too 20 m and bcz of it I have a pain in my stomach area what should I do to get rid of it and even my hands are feeling soreness

Did you try to find why that is happening? Is there a trend?
I don’t know why that happens but it hasn’t happened in a while but it used to always happen

If you are a beginner, then listen to your body and take it slow. Fast bursts of exercise may cause cramps.

Quarantine just stuck me on home for 1 year now when i run my body is not use to to like before
I still feel It and I’m not a beginner, I do 6 hours cardio daily and it’s been 14 months

The pain is in the left stomach or the right stomach? Cause my left stomach hurt when im running
The pain can be anywhere in the diaphragm. Since the diphragm extends from the left to the right, any part may get affected.
And if the pain persists for long, please see a doc.

Today I felt sudden sharp pain on left side under ribs during sprint but not during slow running. It's been a week since I started running regularly.
Avoid sprinting initially. Go for slow runs atleast for a month or 2 before trying sprints.
