I discovered your videos shortly after I finished my med school application, and as I waited for an answer, your videos were so encouraging and informative! I found out the day after Thanksgiving that I was accepted to my med school of choice, so I'm even happier that you'll be posting more videos in the coming months!
Yeah!!! Finally you are back!! 🎉🎉 I can't wait for you to upload new videos and blog posts! I'd love to hear about your thoughts on different specialties and maybe something like why you did or did not like them in med school! I'm sure it's been a busy time and I'd really like to know how you try to stay healthy and so positive during those stressful times in your life. 😊 But in the end I'm just really looking forward to any new video and I'll love them no matter what!!
Hey Andrea! Great to have you back. Best of luck to you with your fellowship application but I'm sure you don't need it. You're so awesome! Thanks for sharing 😍
Yes! Please talk about the application process, timeline, what you did to make your application stronger, and as you said-what led you to choose oculoplastics!
So fun to hear from you. Glad all is well and the fellowship you're pursuing sounds super exciting! Congrats! Best wishes and hopeful that you get the position. :) I think many have posted already but I'd like a video on all the different surgery specialties. I'm sure there's a lot so maybe just the more known ones. lol! Thanks again for offering your time making these videos. :)
It's rare to see an honest smile out of a good hearted person these days. Your smile always draws a smile on my face. Can you give us an idea about respirology/Pulmonology specialty please? I'm very interested in this specialty and i want to decide before i finish my MD

Great to hear from you again, Andrea! It would be awesome to see more videos with MD/PhD's or surgeons. I am a scribe and have seen many internists and their subspecialties, but very little on the surgical side! It would be great to have some more perspective as I look forward to medical school!
I would really love to see how you plan everything, how you keep you planner updated and keeps track of all your meetings, work, school and more.... XOXO from Sweden
Andrea! Could you please make a video interviewing people from different fellowships? I'm an ophtho resident from Mexico... and I'm having a little trouble with choosing fellowship.. I'd really appreciate it! Good luck with your application! You're great!
Hi Andrea! Thank you for continuing to share your path to doctoring (I've been a follower for several years now!). Good luck with the fellowship...I know you will end up somewhere ideal for you. Could you discuss how you went about ranking your list of programs for the residency match? What were some of the considerations that helped you rank-order your list after interview season (ie learning opportunities, outcomes of former residents, program reputation, geography/demographics, cost of living, post-interview impressions, how your significant other factors into the decision, and other things that non-medicine people don't even think about :-)
One more thing, could you do a video discussing the summer electives for international undergraduates either research oriented or clinical observation. Its availability, applying system and benefits. Please guys, LIKE if you want this crucial video. And who could do it better than Andrea :)
Congrats on finishing up your fellowship application!! Also, now that you are prepping for interviews again, could you share some of your interview question prep tips and also interview outfits with us (your outfits are always so cute!)?

Hi Dr. Tooley! Or do you prefer Andrea? Can you have a psychiatrist on some time? I'm a 2nd yr. osteopathic med student thinking about psychiatry or family med. It would be cool to hear a little bit from a psychiatrist! Thanks!
So you'll get matched for a fellowship before you start your 3rd year of residency? Do you still have to finish the last 2 years of residency or will you start the fellowship fall 2017?
I had no idea you had to apply for fellowship so early? like you still have 2 years of residency before your fellowship right? (hello from a european medstudent!)
Hi ~~ long time no see , may i ask about international residents chances to get a fellowship in US , what are the steps ? Where can i read more about it ? Is USMLE a must ?
Hello every body name is Steve I want to apply for a medical school and I have an associate degree in biology why an excellent score and I plan to do 3 mouths of voluntarism at a hospital before I apply . I want to know if with all that I can have an admission to a medical ? Can I have the list of some medical schools who can take me ?
Hey Andrea! I wanted to ask since I'm sure you'd know but is there such a thing as "general ophthalmology" if that's the right term. It seems every opthamologist goes through a fellowship but do some just finish residency and go on to practice? What is their scope of practice? From what I see in the feild everyone is a subspecialist
There is absolutely general ophthalmology. The majority of residents still go into general ophtho and not fellowship. A general ophthalmologist primarily will do cataract surgeon, but can also manage all kinds of medical retina, glaucoma, cornea, and plastic problems. They just won't do more advanced surgeries within those sub-specialties, but can still do all kinds of things and see a huge assortment of patients.
