Yeah how has this gem gone so unnoticed? This is amazing!
I've literally never commented on a review video, or any video really, in the last nearly 20 years ive been using youtube. I have to say that this is an exceptional review, especially for a very niche game, I think you perfectly described the goals and strengths of first cut with no unneccesary fluff or filler. in fact I was left wanting more opinions and descriptions from you. good job, like your video mate keep it up.
The problem with this game is that the enemy reads your inputs so you only win if they randomly decide to let you win.
You only "score" offensively when the game decides but to react and survive is entirely up to player reaction IMO
They can read your inputs as much as they want, they still can’t block in their recovery frames or block their teammate swinging at their back after you ducked behind them then back in front of them to bait it.
Use your footwork.
This isn’t true as someone with about 60 hours in it…
Almost every kill I make is a conscious effort, even on masters.
“After he parries me I will dodge his counter by slipping behind and cutting his bowels out”
“Im going to bait a horizontal slash by keeping my sword up, then releasing a charged back-step bottom slash to catch him on his extension”
The enemies read your guard, not your input. They ALWAYS attack where your not guarding, that is the only “input reading” they do
That's how all fight games work, the Ai can only defend if it reacts to you on purpose. To beat high difficulty Ai you have to rely on footsies and baits.
Your on crack do dodge and shove and
Great review, very informative!
Samurai were never about honor, but about status; they were a gang that evolved into a militia. The bushido thing is something they developed much after to try and clean their reputation.
The setting!!! The extras are so fun , and i the gore haha survival gets crazy and once u pic some speed , its like samurai shamploo and the attention to lil details
nice review man!
you should have more subs!
Thank you for this review. I thought I was playing this game wrong.
Wow this looks awesome
the closest we get to a musashi game. Awesome game. Simple combat but difficulty ramps up.
cool a new creator to follow! great vid
This game reminds me of Budokan on the Amiga back in the days.
. .Reminds me of Nidhogg(2014) & Nighogg 2(2017). .
This game is basically nidhogg but rated r
This game is epic
great review
This game is a very impressive accomplishment made by just one guy (I think), but it needs more work. Just completed the final mountain stage in the campaign, and you really see the deep flaws in the simplistic combat and AI. Up until that stage, I was able to play balanced fighting both aggressive and defensive with success. Varying swings helped a great deal. That last stage? Forget about it. The only way I could beat those sword priests was spamming mid attack and hope to get lucky when they made mistakes. They otherwise just read all of your inputs and counter everything.
still worth it or nah?
@@JakeTheDawgMusicOfficial If you like side-scrolling action on the cheap for a day or two, it's not bad. Kept me entertained for about 5 hours before I uninstalled.
I agree, unfortunately. Between the relentless AI dodge and push, and relying on "luck" to get a strike past its almighty defence, spamming mid seemed the easiest and more reliable way to win. It's a shame because the game looks and sounds very good
I just bought/saw this game and seemed very intresting, but found out that I suck a lot. I don't know if I want to play game where I am so bad.
@@legend9181It was a learning curve for me but I'm satisfied with the game thus far. Actually didn't take me long to git gud. Though I'm playing on Normal so maybe that's not fair to say.
I cant find first cut on steam
is it better to play with or without a mouse?
Why is every sword game worse than Bushido Blade?
Bushido blade is so underrated by gamers and is a fucking gem. Ps1 days 🫶 i might get this game i love the pixel animation and backgrounds but nothing will ever beat BUSHIDO BLADE!!
After reading your review on steam & giving you a poetry award for its beauty, I figured I would give your video a like and sub your channel. 🥷
Is this only for pc?
Yep
This game is bad. The campain at least, the AI is bad, it relies not only on input reading and chance for error, but their attacks are faster. the hitboxes are ever so slightly bugged so your pushes will miss and you'll think its your error, but its not. I finished in two hours abusing the shitty AI. Don't buy it full price
