    Another practical video, thank you very much. Your wrist action is great -- I took lessons once from a teacher who told me all motion comes from the elbow, and that's proven terrible advice, so I have to get to work on it. This video, and your prior recommendation of setting a metronome and 5-minute timer, are great. Cheers!

      @jz4901 very much appreciated! I suppose it depends on the technique of the specific style. In modern electric picking with alternate picking many times the whole arm and elbow are involved but for gypsy jazz (rest strokes) all should be delegated to the wrist..grazie!🙏😊

    Great stuff and well explained! I tend to struggle quite a bit with the pick moving in my hand and eventually it gets into a very bad position or I drop it. Any advice on this? 😬

    • @DarioNapoliGuitar
      @DarioNapoliGuitar  26 дней назад

      @Mrtonecruiser thank you! This is a hard question I often get from students and there's no black and white answer. What has helped over the years is really imagining that your thumb is your pick, so trying to replicate the feeling of playing with one's thumb sometimes helps to find the right pressure and feeling to be loose but not to lose the pick

    very good stuff! i dont hear anyone talk about how the high e needs it own technique cause you cant rest stroke on it. do you have any thoughts about technique on the high e?

    • @DarioNapoliGuitar
      @DarioNapoliGuitar  2 месяца назад +1

      @handdancin thank you 🙏 In my experience nothing changes from a technical or mechanical point of view. What happens at times is that the pick will land on the sound board and might leave a characteristic scratch that you will find on old guitars as well, but the mechanics of the picking shouldn't change in my opinion
