I had transcribed a lot of 30’s QHCF (sadly lost it all 😢) and noticed his lines always start on a small selection of beats, run for similar amounts of time at 1 division and then ends in a dotted line, never drifts out of key too much; And with just that he makes timeless melodies. Really a powerful lesson

Interesting, I think I noticed something similar. He certainly starts and ends in similar places a lot of the time. I guess we all ha e our own rhythmic language and often thats the most important part of what makes us sound how we do.
