    Love your videos! Do you have any advice for choosing between grad chapters? I know some organizations do not have residency requirements. Is it okay to attend informationals for chapters you are interested in? I’ve found the grad journey to be more of finding the chapter where I feel I can grow best and contribute more to as well as fitting in. But it feels weird, like window shopping weird.

    The campus that I am currently attending doesn’t participate in Greek life. Is it possible to join a sorority through a neighboring school?

    • @KelsTells
      @KelsTells  3 года назад

      You'll have to follow up with the graduate chapter that advises the neighboring school to see if it's possible as the rules vary by organization

    Do universities have orientations for spring intakes too ?

    • @KelsTells

      You’ll need to consult your university regarding the baseball club. Most Divine 9 organizations will require you to have at least one full semester as a student before applying to join. Yes, some universities have spring orientation. Watch my orientation videos

    Ok I just want to be clear. A friend and I are going back and forth about this and I need clarification. Is it correct that the fees are due upfront, before receiving an inviting for membership AND someone can NOT be chosen and the money is NOT refunded? Is this all correct?

    • @KelsTells
      @KelsTells  2 года назад

      No. Some details on this topic is in my grad member FAQ. Interests are invited to rush. New member/induction fees are required as part of the application during formal rush. Once fees are paid, money is not refunded. If for any reason you can’t continue with intake but you’ve already paid, it’s still not refunded

    Hello,
    I’m considering membership in a NPHC organization but I’m currently pursuing a Bachelors degree and my college does not have Greek life on campus. I have researched graduate chapters in my area and I have found interest in one. I watched your video on grad chapters and my question is how soon do you start to show interest to a particular chapter in grad chapter (showing face and interest) I will have my degree in Spring of 2021. Thanks for all the info you share!

    • @KelsTells
      @KelsTells  4 года назад +1

      Hi there! Congratulations on all of your success! I recommend showing interest during your senior year so that the chapter will know to put you on their radar. You can also start attending events now just so that you can get a better idea of what the chapter members are like.

    I went to an informational in early November where I submitted my transcript and a resume and I haven't heard back yet. Should I be concerned that I won't get invited to a formal? It's too late for fall intake so I figured the intake won't start till January

    I have two chapters in my state and based on the vibe and responses to my interest I’m going to events of a chapter that’s nearly two hours away vs one that is 30 minutes away. With grad chapter does joining or showing interest in a chapter further away Is a bad thing?

      I'm in the same predicament. The local grad chapter is awful. The chapter I would prefer is two hours away. The local chapter is stating that I have to join locally based on my residency. 🤦🏽‍♀️

      L Brown I feel that it shows more about your character and your willingness to join if you are commuting and keeping up with events. I decided to not settle for a chapter that sucks. I wish you luck. I know at first they weren’t sure if I would be willing to drive as far as I do

      @@sickeningkamiyah_6357 Yes some members will frown upon you living 2 hrs away as they figure u will get in and run off. So try to be at most events to prove that you are serious.

      An'na Griffin I’m in two grad chapter sororities (Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.) and we do somewhat follow a similar schedule with intake but sometimes on a longer scale. Because grad chapters generally don’t have a lot of people moving around and leaving, the chapter can have a lot of members in it for awhile and sometimes the chapter doesn’t want to grow any larger. But in most cases, it’s events, open house, informational and then an invitation is extended
