man really hoped this would be a long one, Hoenn is homeland.

Feel sad for the people that will never get to experience Pokemon like it was in gen 3
I heard that Pokemon Silver being my first game was a true blessing 16 badges in the game 2 regions it was legendary then a final epic battle with red on Mt Silver with his level 81 pikachu ( 88 in soul silver heart gold) .
Gen 3 is my first "true play" on pkmn, it was the best, i have fond memories of playing sapphire in school with my buds, listening to this brings all those memories back.

Sapphire was my first Pokemon game ever- my cousin and I got games for good behavior, but the one with "the cool green dragon" was a little more expensive, so we each got the blue and red ones, and honestly? No regrets man, Hoenn will always be home

Maybe because I was at the ripe age of 8 when I first picked up Ruby, but this was always the most memorable and loved Pokemon game for me.
hoenn region best region. It was my first game playing myself, I watched my brother play red and gold but never experienced the adventure by myself, until I got ruby for my birthday and man im glad it was this one. I love sinnoh and its elegant music but hoenn was when the music was changing, becoming more unique and beautiful. Hoenn is homeland

There are three games that have effected me developmentally. Halo Combat Evolved, Danganronpa 2, and Pokémon Sapphire (first version I got). I’ll never forget what this game did to me. Thanks for the throwback.

There was something so special when Gen 3 was the current Gen wasn’t there? The games had this refreshing quality (even the remakes) and the features encouraged playing with friends in so many ways. The hunt to catch em all was manageable but layered with difficulty. There were so many places and methods to get certain Pokémon. Hidden events that were tough to trigger or even know about. The battles were tough and showed the player all kinds of different strategies. The stories balanced between the old school anarchy and the new school heroism. It wasn’t disruptive to your play and basically every NPC had something useful or interesting to say. The anime was unapologetically badass and constantly gave us Gen 4 Pokemon to go nuts over. Speculation was everywhere and all over the place; you couldn’t find much useful info online but it made the Pokémon world all the more mysterious. Even the official guidebook for Ruby and Sapphire had some errors. When you accomplished something in Gen 3 it really felt like you earned it. An ongoing feeling of accomplishment that bled in to other areas of your life. There was also this edge to liking Pokémon at the time, even if you were a kid like me. People either attempted to bully me or wanted to play with me, there was no in between. Every Gen has things about it that stand out above the rest (I like them all) and for Gen 3 I think it was the enigma of this hidden world you could only go to if you had the guts. Guts to deal with the tough challenges in the games and possibility of getting bullied outside the games. The Pokémon world was a place you could only survive if you had the courage, patience, and problem solving skills needed. Friends made the world of a difference then. We fans really stuck together in those post-Pokemania days. When Gen 4 came out and blew up it felt like it was our love and anticipation through Gen 3 that had revived the series. I remember encouraging my younger neighbors to try Pokémon for years and they finally did when Diamond and Pearl came out because they had been hyped up so much for so long. Thank you Gen 3 and everyone who was part of it. If you ever play a Gen 3 game, try to understand what Pokémon was then, you’ll feel something mysterious deep down.
My favorite pokemon is gen 4(Garchomp), i think the best made games are gen 2, but man is there something about Hoenn. The soundtrack, the landscape, the theme, the interactions. Will always be my favorite. These remixes are fantastic and i hope we get more soon.

Gen 2 and 3 are Honestly my life although I was born a little bit after emerald version, I had Sapphire and it's always been a game I hold close to my heart (so is Alpha sapphire, I remember my dad saying he could only get ruby and I was ok but a little sad I wouldn't get to battle kyoger and archie) until the day the game came and it was alpha sapphire, you have no idea how hard I cried out of happiness.
Genuinely the region that brings me the most joy. I have loads of memories of my blaziken and Lombore doing great in battles. My friends liked other games but yknow, to me hoenn is special.
Even know it is, whenever I'm sad I can switch on sapphire or Alpha sapphire and suddenly feel super happy. Man, was such a great game, genuinely precious to me.
I'm sure diamond and pearl were super hyped and everything in 2010 but, yknow, I never was interested in any new Pokémon games until alpha sapphire brought me right back in

Hoenn the best. Best new pokemon, best starters as a group, best map, best legendary trio. Been playing since Red and Blue came out when I was 4. Gen 3 on the GBA was when the games peaked.

I miss my boy Tiko the Treeko he was my very first mon... I've been bringing him over from generation to generation... but one day as I was looking for him to bring to Pokemon home... he was just gone.... triple checked my boxes..
I genuinely wish I was lying when I say balled out into tears... I was genuinely heartbroken.. This was about years ago closing in on three.. still hurts to this day..
A few months ago my boyfriend got us a veiled chameleon. He named him after Tiko in his honor.
I loved him dearly as if my Tiko has returned to me. He had that same smugness Tiko had and everything!
Unfortunately it wasn't to last.. Last month Tiko fell from his plant and broke an arm and a leg.. I instantly pulled from my savings, looking any exotic reptile vets in Florida.. We found one.. but all they could offer were some pain killers.. Tiko was still too young and frail to splint his limbs...
Tiko did his very best.. I know he was holding out for me.. but a month later.. just last week.. long after we ran out of medicine.. he passed..
I miss him so much...

If Pokémon were real I’d be born in hoenn, my favorite starter is mudkip and my favorite Pokémon is swampert. My swampert in my ruby game I still have to this day at level 100 “Finn” yea not the most original name but I was around 6 or 7 years old. I remember vividly that it never fainted. I also never used full teams back then so it was Finn the Swampert, Sky the Swellow, Shroomy my Breloom and finally my shiny mightyena called GoldenWolf lol but with those 4 I beat the game. That shiny I remember I cried because of. Gen 3 is my happy place, I can never be mad or disappointed with any part of it. The other starters are good too but Swampert is best in my opinion
