    The year 2002 never seems as long ago as it does when looking at TV footage from the era. It's almost like going from B&W to color - suddenly looks like 30 years passed in a single, technological instant.

      @@alexyerkey3141 Non HD broadcast meant for CRT televisions. CRT televisions and Modern HD displays work on a fundamentally different level, CRTs were basically analogue while Modern HD displays are purely digital. When you are seeing these old broadcasts they are likely re recordings that were then converted again into a digital format, they are not going to look good especially when compared to modern data types being played on a modern display.

    • @ralphralpherson9441
      @ralphralpherson9441 Год назад +1

      I've walked that sidewalk dozens of times. Lots of people party down there, dock up the boat and light a grill to cook weiners or some ribs. It's a cool place and the police don't really enforce the drinking down there. That said... you are intimately aware there is a game going on, its only feet from the stadium (which has NO center field seating so you hear 100% of the noise). If a homerun was hit, you'd probably look up because you'd hear the crowd get 100x louder and cheering all of a sudden.

    "One of the *loudest* homeruns you'll ever *see* "....um.... wait what? ....dude 😐🤔🤨
    Garrett Jones damn near killed a baby right off the back of a bicycle with that shot... If you watch it back in slow-mo (0.25x) and consider the angle it hit the water, plus how high the riverwalk sits above the water level, it cleared that dude on the bike by less than 10 feet. If that guy was going 1 mph faster that day, he would have arrived 5 feet ahead of his position and got his 6-month-old knocked out of the dumb little baby seat and clean off the back of his bike into the river. Now THAT is a one-in-a-million shot. "Yeah, my infant son gets out of the hospital in a week, but I got him to sign the ball!!"

    They should remove, or if possible relocate, the 2 or 3 trees right in the aerial route towards the river. They've grown big enough that they're going to swat down river shots soon if they haven't already, and that's a shame. It's such a cool feature of the ballpark. Don't ruin the rare potential of a river shot by letting a wall of 40 foot tall maple trees block incoming splashdowns. So stupid.
