I was wondering... I was thinking for the bisexual, it shouldn’t be shown as a point between heterosexual and homosexual because many bisexuals have a preference or a leaning attraction, or the majority of their attractions are to the opposite/same sex. Bisexuality can also be fluid and change over time. For myself, for example, I find that generally I have a leaning towards same sex attractions, physically and emotionally, but it's also fluid and I find myself more interested in the opposite sex some days than others. I think you should have showed it on a spectrum like you did intersex. Other than that, fantastic video! How this would have made my life easier to see in school...
Your sexual orientation could be fluid. I get this a lot too, actually. I'm mostly attracted to people of the same sex but there are days that I feel like I like the opposite sex way more than the same. I think it still counts as bisexual because you still like males and females it just fluctuates.
keck321 but many people have a leaning towards one gender. Some people may have more attractions to the same gender more than the opposite, but they identify as bisexual just like someone who has more attractions to the opposite gender more than the same. That means it shouldn’t be shown as a point between heterosexual and homosexual. It can also be fluid, another reason it should be a spectrum.
Bàmboo - yeah, I identify as bisexual pretty much because it's the easiest for people to understand, but I also could go by/connect with/ identify with others, like queer, fluid, pansexual, etc. Basically, I think anyone who is attracted to same and opposite gender/s can identify as bisexual if they want to. I don’t like to think of it as a limiting term that is 50/50, only includes binary genders, only attraction to 2 genders, etc. :)
Wolf Heart you just made my point... bi is exactly that... you like both sexes... maybe not equally, which is rare as fuck. We don’t need 50 definitions to say that you like both. Why do we need all these definitions to say “I like guys and girls?”

Oh my gosh, I needed this video. Thank you so much for posting this. I have a much better understanding of the LGBTQ+ community now. I am a cisgender Ally. Again, thank you!!
No, this doesn’t need to be taught in school. There’s never been a specific class for discussing sexual or romantic attraction, and the problem with that would be bias with teachers probably teaching more in favor of their own and making it something that should be on the forefront of children’s minds. No kind of attraction is taught; it’s something you discover within your own life. Yes, it’s more common for heterosexual and cisgendered people to exist, but it’s not taught. If it were, then people who don’t fall under that category wouldn’t exist. Wonder how long it’ll take to get this reply taken down...
I remember I asked a transgendered person where she was in her transformation without knowing it was offensive to ask. I felt so embarrassed. I'm glad this video is around to help others to not make the same mistake I did.

sexual orientation is not based on gender. It's based on sexual attraction to either the same sex, opposite sex or both sexes. If you are attracted to someone because they look like a member of the sex you are typically attracted to, that's ok, sexual attraction has a lot to do with appearances.
I am a cis gender, Asexual, and panromantic. On the gender expression spectrum I am at neither extreme and tend to be in the middle. Thank you so much for this video!

The concepts that they teach are still the concept you hold as a heterosexual male! As you said, "heterosexual" which in part of "sexuality" or "sexual orientation" or "sexual preference" and "male" which in part of "sex" which is biological. LGBT is just a community or organization. But these concepts are for everybody.
This was going good until 5:22 when they said asexuals dont feel attraction to any gender. Asexual means they dont feel sexual attraction, they CAN still feel romantic attraction. Other than that this is a really good video
As an ally, I've always been pretty sure that ally isn't a part of the community. Even though it's a kind notion, we aren't part of the community, though we support and love the LGBTQ+ community.
I really want to show this video to my parents. I identify as lesbian and they claim to accept and support me, but they don't respect me. My mother thinks that I'm lesbian for attention, and my father completely ignores my sexuality. For an example of my mother: Once, I asked my parents if I was allowed to have a girlfriend since I was at the same age my sister was when she got a boyfriend. My mother yelled no and gave me a angry expression. For an example of my father: When my sister asked if she could go out on a date with a guy, my dad turned to me and said, "It's too bad he doesn't have a cute younger brother."

Hi, um is there a gender that leans more towards one side of the female and male spectrum? If you’re confused, for me I feel like I’m a male but sometimes I kind of act like more feminine but I definitely lean towards being a male. Does that make sense...or not? I don’t really count it as being gender fluid because I know I identify as a male but sometimes I act more feminine...I’m sorry if this a weird question or a dumb question, I was just wondering.

Im not the person that made the video but I thought I'd try to answer anyways. The truth is, there are a looooot of queer identities that don't get recognised in the acronym, and there's also just not one acronym. There is for example LGBT+ (where the + stands for all the identities not reflected), there's LGBTQ (where the Q stands for "Queer" and all the identities not reflected), there's the one used in the video.... and many many more. As you see in the video itself, there are other sexualities and genders except "two spirit" that don't get reflected in the acronym. There are so many nuanced identities and labels that it is near impossible to include all of them, which is a thing many people criticize about it, but there's no consensus about what to use among the community. As you've seen, I use "queer" as an umbrella term, but many don't like that bc it started out as a slur. Same with "gay" community, which additionally can be seen as exclusive since it is mostly used to describe same sex attraction. A youtuber called James Somerton recently made a video on this topic called "queer: reclaiming the word" (which I think is a good video, even though I don't agree with all the points he made, once again showing that there's no perfect consensus :D) I hope this helped (and you're okey with getting a very long answer to a pretty short question, I'm not the best at being concise :D )
There are many people who use different versions of the acronym like lgbt+, lgbtq+, lgbtqia+ and lgbtqiaa2s+ (2s stands for two-spirit). but most people use lgbtq+ because it’s not to long.
I'm a part of the LGBT+ community, and this made me understand a lot more of the things I don't understand in the community. Especially gender expression. I'm a transgender male, but I like wearing make-up and such things.
1. Allies aren’t part of the community. A is for abrosexual, abroromantic, asexual, aromantic, and agender. 2. Bigender just means someone who experiences 2 genders. Not necessarily male and female. 3. Your pronouns don’t necessarily have to match your gender identity. Some boys use gender neutral or feminine pronouns, some girls use neutral or masculine pronouns, some non-binary people use feminine and/or masculine pronouns, some non-binary people use both they and he or she. There are way more terms, but I’ll give some grace there because it’s impossible to fit them all on a single paper. You’re welcome for correcting your mistakes. (Sorry if I misheard/misunderstood some of your words.)

That's what Bi is... You don't need a spectrum for that, just love who you want.
keck321 but many people have a leaning towards one gender.

This needs to be taught in school 🙏🏼 so many people are unaware and can be offensive when they dont try to be🏳️🌈
Robin Ratcliff Of all the problems with modern education, you choose to fix it by adding in a class that has zero scientific evidience to back it up?
Robin Ratcliff this would be a waste of time if taught in school

my stubborn small brain after watching: *SO I AM CONFUSION*
It can be very confusing
sexual orientation is not based on gender. It's based on sexual attraction to either the same sex, opposite sex or both sexes. If you are attracted to someone because they look like a member of the sex you are typically attracted to, that's ok, sexual attraction has a lot to do with appearances.
Nobody understands or listens to me when i tell them im non-binary...

This should 100% be taught in school
This video was so helpful! Especially since I'm kinda new to the LGBT community... I'm bisexual, btw!
I am a heterosexual male, but I'm really open-minded. This was really interesting!
This really helped me. I’m catholic and I trying to find my sexuality and just find myself in general. Thank you
i was with it until you put "ally" in the acronym
I really want to show this video to my parents. I identify as lesbian and they claim to accept and support me, but they don't respect me. My mother thinks that I'm lesbian for attention, and my father completely ignores my sexuality. For an example of my mother: Once, I asked my parents if I was allowed to have a girlfriend since I was at the same age my sister was when she got a boyfriend. My mother yelled no and gave me a angry expression. For an example of my father: When my sister asked if she could go out on a date with a guy, my dad turned to me and said, "It's too bad he doesn't have a cute younger brother."
Thanks so much for breaking down, with very very succinct graphics and colour coding, terms and their meanings that confused me, terms being used that I really just didn’t, as I understand now, know what referenced. Much appreciated and thank you.

there is no official meaning, it's as fluid as the water in the sea
Hi, um is there a gender that leans more towards one side of the female and male spectrum?
If you’re confused, for me I feel like I’m a male but sometimes I kind of act like more feminine but I definitely lean towards being a male.
Does that make sense...or not?
I don’t really count it as being gender fluid because I know I identify as a male but sometimes I act more feminine...I’m sorry if this a weird question or a dumb question, I was just wondering.

Thanks! -Allen.
Great video! Super educational, and helpful. However, I was wondering how come the term "Two- Spirited" is not used in the LGBTQ+ acronym?
Thanks for explaining Gender Fluidity too me, I've never known a gender fluid person close enough to ask. But I've always wanted to know

I'm a little confused about the term, gender identity. Whenever I think about my identity, my mind goes to my idealogy and my values, what part of those things is associated or part of my gender identity?
It's the gender you associate with which is gender identity
