As a dive since eleven, I agree that much of their content together (especially in their early days) felt pretty stiff or reserved. I think this is a mixture of a number of things: most of the members are very introverted (i believe leeseo is their only extrovert and the new ive members weren't used to being constantly filmed), the group itself debuted really quickly to capitalize off Iz*One, there was a sudden shifting of roles for annyeongz (yujin feeling burdened to project a more serious leader image, wonyoung being encouraged to take on the flawless princess persona), and ofc there was a huge hate train that followed them pretty early into their careers. Luckily it seems they've grown closer these past two years, which has been wonderful to see especially after they've finished their first world tour. There was never anything "wrong" or "fake" about them, just needed more time to grow comfortable with each other.
At this point, Wonyoung could save a bunch of orphaned puppies from a burning building and there'd still be some fools out there saying she set the fire herself. Haters really are just gonna hate. 🙄

As a dive since eleven, I agree that much of their content together (especially in their early days) felt pretty stiff or reserved. I think this is a mixture of a number of things: most of the members are very introverted (i believe leeseo is their only extrovert and the new ive members weren't used to being constantly filmed), the group itself debuted really quickly to capitalize off Iz*One, there was a sudden shifting of roles for annyeongz (yujin feeling burdened to project a more serious leader image, wonyoung being encouraged to take on the flawless princess persona), and ofc there was a huge hate train that followed them pretty early into their careers. Luckily it seems they've grown closer these past two years, which has been wonderful to see especially after they've finished their first world tour. There was never anything "wrong" or "fake" about them, just needed more time to grow comfortable with each other.

To be honest, i think the best we can do is let things pass. Sadly, hate is one of the biggest sources of engagement in SN, and even good intended, reacting to these type of comments of random people in internet only encourages them to create more of this content, because algorithms doesn't care which side are you, just if those type of videos get people's attention and most of these creators just want to be trending.
