    Hi Salvador, once you extrude the curves into surfaces, you will have to get the intersections on between to use them to do the notches, I have other tutorials in which they explain the process: creating a 3d waffle model in rhino, also check creating notches using a rhinoscript for a more efficient workflow. Hope it helps

    You have to make sure you are selecting surfaces, if you do a selection window it should tell you what type of objects you have, also make sure you use the command offset surfaces, hope it helps :)

    Such great video, but I seem to have a problem. When I do first extrusion the curve extrudes on the x-axis. How to change the extrusion on z-axis? Thank you!

    • @datum087
      @datum087  9 лет назад +1

      +Srna Manasievska Thank you, when you run the extrusion command you have several options in the command window, one of them is direction which will then allow you to change the axis, it will ask you for a new direction by drawing a line in the axis that you want.

    HI. I have a question. i have a hexagonal grid on my site, as a module. I want to morph that, to achieve my form. First, how do i make the grid a plane? 2. How do i take it up and down, and push it in?

    • @datum087
      @datum087  8 лет назад

      +fireworksexplode what you can do is draw an hexagon and make it a plane with the planar surface command, then you can use that plane to make the rest of the grid. Group all the surfaces, then create a cage (transform/cage editing/create cage) around the group, it will ask you for the number of cage points which you can modify, then do a cage edit (transform/cage editing/cage edit) it will ask you for captive objects (hexagon group) bounding box (cage). Use the control points to shape the form that you desire.

    • @magruder95
      @magruder95 8 лет назад

      Doesn't matter if it is polysurface or surface in this case as far as I know, don't worry about it.
      You might have the "wireframe" viewing option on, change it to "shaded" or "ghosted" etc. and you should see it the way you want. Just right click on the viewport you are using.

    When I extrude a curve all but 3 lines will extrude. Why is that?

    • @datum087
      @datum087  10 лет назад

      Not sure why will that happen, it might be that you need to flip the curves that are not extruding, sometimes it happens because they might be going in a different direction, the flip command will allow them to go along the other curves

    @robertostman2075 9 лет назад

    while interesting,... its seems wrong,... when you did the 1st extrusion the result is a bunch of surfaces with different dimensions due to the curvature, to correct this you would have to use a extrusion that is based on the surface normal, the same mistake was done in the next extrusion, to me this looks bad

    • @datum087
      @datum087  9 лет назад

      +Robert Ostman I do understand your point, you could project a grid with the desire thickness so you don't have to extrude them at all and then trim the unwanted surfaces, after you can either extrude them or offset them if you want it to be along the normals.
