There something which remembers Schnittke's music in a more regular and less chotic way. It is a very peculiar personal expression of some inner darkness. The composer takes care to make his music (and his inner feelings through it) efficient for listeners. The work is tonal, as we can hear in the final cadence.

Thank you Wellesz Theatre. This composition held my attention from beginning to end. A very tasty piece. The flavor is Japanese Bartok.

More akin to the Japanese Shostakovich, in my opinion...

I've been aware of Japanese classical composers for some time but my interest has been reawakened recently. This is a fine piece. Along with Toru Takemitsu, I'll be checking out more of this composer's music. Thanks for posting it.
