The sheer joy and excitement you had on your face is pretty much how i felt when i unboxed the PS5 on launch day, holding the system in my hand, the Dualsense controller, setting it up, ahh! It's amazing knowing our hobbies can bring about such joy! For me it's like being a child again if that makes sense! Regardless, like you said, the color schemes from just pictures alone didn't really do it justice as opposed to having it in your hands - the colors do pop a lot more in a good way! Enjoy Emily!!

Always nice to see people upgrading to a new Switch model. I myself also got the Tears of the Kingdom OLED, which was definitely needed, since I was still going around and playing my games on the version 1 launch day Switch. I'm a huge Zelda fan, so this was definitely a must buy for me

Congrats on the upgrade its definitely the nicest looking switch to date. The dock is really something else I love the smooth texture on the front, everything about it is just perfect. Got mine today luckily it shipped early and couldn't be happier.

I ordered the white skull n co grip a few days before they announced the TotK ones… I’m considering ordering that one as well, but the white looks nice too. Edit: After using the Skull & Co grip for a night, I’ve determined the Satisfye grip is more comfortable for me anyway, so I’ll order that one!

Nice overview, thanks! I picked mine up from BestBuy this morning. This is my first OLED model too as I have been using a regular switch since release. This is an incentive for me to play more in hand held mode as I rarely do that. I still have the Zelda Joycons that were released a few years back so I think they will be a good alternative too. OLED screens are so nice for gaming. I learned that with the original VITA. It is so much nicer then the slim model VITA. It really does make a big difference, IMHO.
How exciting.... What a huge upgrade from the lite!!! You will love the OLED screen especially if you're a mostly portable gamer. I got the OLED at launch but switched to the Pokemon OLED back in November so I could not justify a new OLED for this version but I do want those joy cons. The gold looks awesome and any shade of green is my favorite color. Anyways, I'm so happy for you and I am certain you will enjoy it. I cannot wait for Nintendo to announce an OLED LITE!!!!
I pulled the trigger on getting a Zelda Switch(used your link). 20 year break ending this month!! Since BOTW(twilight princess really) came out ive been pulled like a magnet to get back to it. I have so much catching up to do. Starting with Skyward Sword(i read it sets up the story). Wow! Wish I could justify a console upgrade from a launch model Switch because that Zelda Switch is stunning. I think the dock design is my favorite bit. Have fun with the new toy 😄 I may end up picking up that first grip you recommended. I love my Satisfye grip for traveling, but the fact that it doesn’t dock is the main reason that it isn’t a permanent feature on my console.
Same here , but we are likely getting pretty close to the successor now, and it just doesn't seem worth the investment. As much as I would love a nice new shiny replacement.
I got it because i don't use the dock unless I'm charging it. The screen size and increased system storage Is enough for me and plus Zelda. I plan on selling it when the new one comes out next year.
I got mine in on saturday, I love it. It's my third switch, and it's my second switch oled. I don't even play on my switch too much anymore but i couldnt pass up on this beauty.

I've also bought my (yellow) lite in 2020 and have been playing on it since then. I love handheld gaming so much, it's my go to for playing games ! It's so nice that you did that comparison between the two models! Thank you so much for that ! Now I'm seriously tempted to upgrade as well 🙈 My bank account will look quite hesitant though, since I spend tons of my budget on games alone already 😂🙈🙈 On the other hand, I, as a woman, prefer buying games over shoes and purses...so maybe I'll allow myself... Congratz! Its really neat how nicely it goes with your gold 3ds. I remember when I upgraded and went through the transferring proccess. It kind of devastated me when I found out it wipes out your play time from the old console. I am okay now, but it still hurts a little bit lol
That’s so annoying, I had no idea. I wish Nintendo would release a patch or something to transfer the playtime stats - though not the end of the world, it’s still great info to have!
Holy crap! I was just about to comment this. This has happened to me TWICE now. The first time about a year ago when I got the OLED. The second recently when I was transferring saves from another Switch to the OLED. It's an absurd oversight by Nintendo. All play data should be synced to the cloud like Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox.
@@orbalology Since you have both Switch consoles you shouldn't lose your playtimes if you do a direct transfer from the users menu on both consoles, I believe. I was able to retain all my playtime counters and was a major concern of mine when upgrading to the Switch OLED.
@@SuileDearg yes I can confirm that direct transfer saves game time under user info. The actual game sorting, by time, however acts as though you have not played anything.

I upgraded from a launch Switch to the Splatoon OLED a few weeks ago and have no regrets. The colors are so much more vivid. I also got the Skull & Co grip because it was dockable. The trigger grips make it so much more comfortable. Enjoy your TOTK OLED!

Glad got ur switch and hope u enjoy many games to come. Just so u know If u double tap the home but u can zoom in on anything the screen including small text. U can do this on any game or screen so really good for those games with tiny text so u don’t have to strain ur eyes.

I think you would really enjoy the Satisfye Zen grip Pro. It doesn’t let you play docked, but since you said, you enjoy and held better anyway you could charge your switch by directly plugging the usb C charging cable directly to it. That group and your new OLED will really feel great! Found your channel a few weeks ago and love your content BTW!

Congrats on your purchase. I bought it for myself as an impulse buy as I don't have a switch and had been borrowing my brothers. My birthday is next week as well. Lo and behold, I open the door to the delivery and two TotK OLEDs got delivered. The one I ordered and...surprise, my brother bought me one as an early birthday present! Not sure what to do with my spare; I'll likely keep it for collection purposes and sell it off at a later date if it goes up in price.
I literally just did the same lol. I went from turquoise lite to Zelda OLED on Friday from Best Buy. It's such a huge difference, though I like the lite dpad better.
I got the TotK Switch a few days ago week ago, traded in Switch classic . I didn't think it would be a substantial upgrade, but I can't put it down. It's so beautiful!! Both the console and screen!
I love how the colors look in the OLED model! I have one myself and I can tell you that effects on Octopath Traveler II looks great on that screen. I hope you enjoy your time with your new Switch!

Yooo! I too have a Teal Lite and have been contemplating getting the OLED. Tears of the Kingdom edition looks awesome IMO, love the color scheme. Also have been dying to have the motion control/TV support. The Skullco case/Grip for the Lite is the best accessory bundle I’ve ever gotten for any gaming system. It kicks so much ass. Would gladly give them my money for the matching OLED equivalent. Great video overall!

So nice! I’m upgrading to this model from the V1 Switch, and the OLED screen is going to be a game changer.
I’ll have to check out the Skull & Co. grip. I preordered the Satisfye grip and will likely be set with that, but I’m really looking forward to your comparison to (likely) get me to spend more money lol :)

@@Julia.Taunton-Clark99 Go for it! I think a next gen model will be released Spring 2024 earliest, so you’ll at least have almost a year to enjoy it before any regrets creep in (if at all). Plus, it’s Zelda! It’ll definitely be a cool collector’s item in the future

I've also bought my (yellow) lite in 2020 and have been playing on it since then. I love handheld gaming so much, it's my go to for playing games !

Congratz! Its really neat how nicely it goes with your gold 3ds. I remember when I upgraded and went through the transferring proccess. It kind of devastated me when I found out it wipes out your play time from the old console. I am okay now, but it still hurts a little bit lol
It's neat to have those two Zelda themed LEs in my collection :) Oh I didn't know this about the data transfer process, so strange they do that.
That’s so annoying, I had no idea. I wish Nintendo would release a patch or something to transfer the playtime stats - though not the end of the world, it’s still great info to have!
Holy crap! I was just about to comment this. This has happened to me TWICE now. The first time about a year ago when I got the OLED. The second recently when I was transferring saves from another Switch to the OLED. It's an absurd oversight by Nintendo. All play data should be synced to the cloud like Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox.
@@orbalology Since you have both Switch consoles you shouldn't lose your playtimes if you do a direct transfer from the users menu on both consoles, I believe. I was able to retain all my playtime counters and was a major concern of mine when upgrading to the Switch OLED.
@@SuileDearg yes I can confirm that direct transfer saves game time under user info. The actual game sorting, by time, however acts as though you have not played anything.

I upgraded from a launch Switch to the Splatoon OLED a few weeks ago and have no regrets. The colors are so much more vivid. I also got the Skull & Co grip because it was dockable. The trigger grips make it so much more comfortable. Enjoy your TOTK OLED!

Wow this special edition looks great, especially the dock. I did the same upgrade from a lite model to an oled and the difference is huge for someone like me who mostly plays in handheld mode

mine arrives tomorrow and im so excited!! my launch switch only lasts like 30 minutes when i take it out of the dock now so i really needed the upgrade. also looking forward to your accessory video whenever you decide to make it because that satisfye grip looks really cool!
Glad got ur switch and hope u enjoy many games to come. Just so u know If u double tap the home but u can zoom in on anything the screen including small text. U can do this on any game or screen so really good for those games with tiny text so u don’t have to strain ur eyes.

Omg imagine upgrading from the Lite to an OLED - and the Zelda TotK special edition at that haha! I bet you’re gonna love it although it may take an adjustment. I’m digging mine! I love how gold the JoyCon are - I wasn’t quite expecting them to be so detailed.

I think you would really enjoy the Satisfye Zen grip Pro. It doesn’t let you play docked, but since you said, you enjoy and held better anyway you could charge your switch by directly plugging the usb C charging cable directly to it. That group and your new OLED will really feel great! Found your channel a few weeks ago and love your content BTW!
I finally got around to watching this once I got my own unboxing video up for this. Nice job. I am actually going from an original switch to this one, and the OLED screen is so much nicer.

I am so happy you got the TotK edition to the OLED. I got my first switch as a OLED too and I am so happy with mine. This edition is sooo beautiful wish I had it to but I only have my OG colour switch OLED.

Congrats on your purchase. I bought it for myself as an impulse buy as I don't have a switch and had been borrowing my brothers. My birthday is next week as well. Lo and behold, I open the door to the delivery and two TotK OLEDs got delivered. The one I ordered and...surprise, my brother bought me one as an early birthday present! Not sure what to do with my spare; I'll likely keep it for collection purposes and sell it off at a later date if it goes up in price.

I really like the bigger and more vibrant screen.
I literally just did the same lol. I went from turquoise lite to Zelda OLED on Friday from Best Buy. It's such a huge difference, though I like the lite dpad better.

Yooo! I too have a Teal Lite and have been contemplating getting the OLED. Tears of the Kingdom edition looks awesome IMO, love the color scheme. Also have been dying to have the motion control/TV support.
The Skullco case/Grip for the Lite is the best accessory bundle I’ve ever gotten for any gaming system. It kicks so much ass. Would gladly give them my money for the matching OLED equivalent.
