Just want to say, did some amiibos to get the fabrics, I was getting duplicate twilight gear after I already got it in the depts so you can still get the armor from amiibos even after you collect it.
This was one of the top 3 things I wanted, I was bummed not being able to get the light arrow bow in BOTW (the name cant come to mind) and some of the armor sets

I started scanning, and while I eventually got the paraglider fabrics, I could not get the outfits. In fact, the chests wouldn't even show up. A chest appeared when I got the fabrics, but never any other time. I'm wondering if you need to progress further into the game before amiibo scans yield more than materials and fabric.
I’m really glad a bunch of these sets can be gotten through the game itself instead of amiibos, since I wanted a lot of them when playing BotW but I couldn’t get all the amiibos.

Two words Amiibo Cards. They were very useful for botw and they were fairly cheap too. I got them off of ebay for about $27 and that's for every amiibo card altogether. I say it was definitely worth it.
Fun fact, you can actually get them earlier than landing on the surface. As soon as I beat the first shrine, I was able to scan my amiibos. Nice little short cut to getting those items a little faster
For paragliders, I would like to add that a in-game skin fabric with the Royal Guard theme is avaible very early in the game. (As soon as you leave the sky tutorial island). It's hidden at the castle, under some rocks in the ground, on the left side of the castle grounds. It's super slick, and has reflective gold triforce logo on it. It's easy, early, and free. A certain enemy is down the hole, but the chest is there, free to grab. Just grab it and run if you don't wanna fight it.
@@bigben2021 Absolutely. Coords are -0490, 1006, 0053. It's on ground level. It's a pile of rocks you need to break. If you don't want to fight the strong enemy you can just grab the chest and teleport away
7:12 - The Dusk Bow/Twilight Bow is located at the highest point of Hyrule Castle above the Sanctum (after you get it, you can climb higher to get a korok seed). You can glide there after Impa gives you the paraglide and the nearby tower launches you in the air. You will need cooked stamina food like endura carrots (found around the cherry tree by a pond at the top of Satori mountain; also around two moblins a little down the mountain)
My biggest gripe with BotW is if you wanted 1 of every armor piece you ran short of inventory space by like 7. They just needed to add one more page of inventory for it. I really hope as a collectionist/completionist that there is enough space for all the armors and such

As someone with a full amiibo collection which I haven't actually used really since BoTW I'm SO EXCITED to get some great use out of them with this game.
I'm really glad that they not only brought the amiibo outfits back for TotK but also made it so that you could still get a lot of them without having an amiibo. AoC really made me worried that we wouldn't get any of the outfits because they add a whole new layer of replayability to the game if you want to roleplay as a different character.
They'd have to create a second character model for that. The armor changes don't affect the underlying skeleton that interacts with the world, just the visual appearance.
This is the most TotK gameplay I’ve seen so far. The game delivers tomorrow! Nintendo released a full-on gameplay showcase, the whole game leaked, people have been streaming it,… and other than that 4-ish minute trailer I know nothing. Gotta say I’m kinda proud of myself, and I can’t wait to play it!
Honestly, the dye guy in hateno is so weird, and having him return but now as well as dunking you in water with loads of monster parts in, he chucks you up his fireplace! So weird but funny as well.
So unfortunate that the biggest change to what you can get from amiibos is no wolf link. Running around exploring with wolf link was the most fun I've had in botw. Super disappointing that they kept almost everything else the same or similar, but they took away my wolfy boy.
SPOILER for beating either of the temples, proceed at your own risk!: I think they cut Wolf Link because they reused the follower system they had for him for the spirits of the sages you get for beating the shrines.
I’m fine with the armour being unlocked without the amiibos. I mainly used to scan amiibos for the weapons and food and I’m happy that that is still a thing
I believe there is still the chance for you to get repeat amiibo clothing from the amiibo. A friend of mine got it to happen while farming for the fierce deity set. For those wondering, he was able to get his copy a little earlier thanks to him working at a videogame store and tried some amiibo out while working. Owner didn't seem to mind as long as he didn't take it home until release day.
I believe so too. I have seen pictures where people had the Time Set 3 times. I know for certain that you can get amiibo drops after you get the corresponding item in game, because I did find the Twilight Tunic in a chest in the world and then got it again via the amiibo.
The game isn't even out yet and you're already on it! You were above any beyond with your BOTW coverage and an invaluable help with that game and this will be the place to be for TOTK coverage!
The goddess fabric makes sense, as it's pretty much the same as the Sail Cloth from Skyward Sword, of which I played through using your guide. Thanks again, Austin for that guide!
I have the NFC cards. So I have almost all of the “amiibos”. I’m glad that everyone can get these items now. I hate content locked behind a pay wall. Obviously there are a couple I’m missing like the ToTk and Loftwing ones , and I’m glad I can get their items in game
Exact same here, I got into BoTW late into its life cycle and was extremely disappointed to find out how much each individual amiibo cost from third party sellers; but was more than overjoyed when I bought my whole set of NFC cards for just 15 bucks.
i’m pretty sure you can get armor from the amiibo after getting it in game or the amiibo. i scanned my shiek and i have 4 shiek masks. 3 from the amiibo and 1 from the coliseum
Definitely a fan of the change to making them more accessible. Also the reprints that got done all make it easier to get things legit. And I much prefer having the option to go do another quest instead of just scanning for it. Over all, pretty happy

I'm kinda glad to see that there's now customization options for the paragliders~! Makes it fun, to say the least. I'm gonna use the farm one for a bit 'cuz that's (probably?) one of the first fabrics that I got when I scanned the amiibo earlier today.

I like that various benefits are (mostly) available from more than one amiibo. Needing to collect ALL of the Zelda related ones would be a chore starting from nothing if you want a specific paraglider skin. Clothing from quests is great though. Improvements all around.
No Wolf Link made me sad :( He was my travel buddy 💔 Also, im DEEPLY UPSET that they nuked the Twilight Bow. It was my fav bow to use in BoTW 😩 Plus in BoTW it had unlimited arrows.
Yeah. I think they removed it because the Twilight Bow was just a reskinned Bow of Light that you used in the finale. I don't think the Light Bow is in Tears of the Kingdom so they probably reworked the Twilight Bow too.
He did say once that when a new Zelda/Pokémon game comes out, he basically doesn't stop working for two or three weeks or something. Then he does next-to-nothing until the moment there's actual news. The fact i can get these from the game itself and the amiibos are just a faster way to get them is awesome! I have 1 amiibo (smash link) and would hate to miss out on all these other ones just because i dont have them all
I think it’s great that you can get them in game and get them via the Amiibo. I’m not a very big Amiibo collector, but I am a completionist when it comes to the games. So this is big for me, and I would appreciate the working for it in the games more than anything else.
I'm really sad to see the twilight/dusk bow get nerfed (also really sad that it lost it's cool glowing arrow effect). Back in BotW, I didn't really use it for combat because I liked keeping it as a collectable, but I would on rare occasions break it out to help me solve a handful of aggravating korok balloon puzzles (like that one on death mountain where the balloon is really far away, but I couldn't use bomb arrows to up my chance of hitting it because they'd just blow up in my face, or the one in Hyrule castle where the balloon is *absurdly* far away and I just couldn't get the shot right with a normal bow). Being able to hit those super distant targets by just aiming straight at them instead of desperately trying to tweak my angle for the hundredth time was the only reason I finished some of those korok puzzles.
I am SO STOKED! Fierce Deity set is my absolute favorite, and it’s the only one I used in BotW, so I’m super glad I can get it and use it in TotK. Also, really cool that Nintendo made all of this gear available in game without having to have the amiibos 👍🏽
@@BoredomStudios That's awfully selfish of you. Also kind of your own fault. You can get amiibo cards for a few cents each. And you can still get the items early via amiibo insteda of having to find them so it's still a bonus. It's just that other people can get that stuff too now when they couldn't before. I made all the amiibo tags i didn't have already last night, but this video is still very helpful to reference! there were multiple conflicting sources for what each one gave when the game leaked and people were playing on emulator, so this is helpful for keeping track + sending to friends who dont know how amiibo stuff works.

Do you know if Epona can be teleported this time around with ancient armor or similar device? It's the main reason I always kept her at the stables in BOTW and used a different horse. I didn't like the mechanic of only having the horse come if it was in range to hear you whistle.

I wish they would've let you dye the different era tunics this time. At the very least the Ocarina of Time one since canonically the Fire Resistance and Water Breathing tunics from OOT were just recolors of the classic tunic so it would've been cool to do that in TOTK. Also, am I the only one hoping they have an update that adds the Hyrule Warriors outfit into TOTK? It's already modeled just add it in, it'd be really cool. I love the blue scarf.
Well time to scan Wolf Link every day for a cloth. Goodbye three headed dragon glider, you served me well I got so hyped when I found my first previously amiibo or dlc only armor. I feel like a treasure hunter hunting for theese things, it's so fun lol.
Personally, I own over 100 unique amiibos, and I love that the armors can be gotten without the amiibo, it makes players feel rewarded for playing through, AND it makes players who have the amiibo feel rewarded for owning them from the start, still sad about my boi wolf link not in yhe game though i miss him
The Mirror of Twilight and Majora's Mask paragliders are my favorites. Fitting I have to amiibos to unlock them early but also great you can earn these via gameplay instead of looking for the amiibo or buying NFC cards
I'm sure you know this by now, but scanning the amiibos will give you multiple copies of the armour sets. It's a great way of getting rupees by selling the additional ones. Usually get between 2-4 a day by scanning them all.
Having the armors achieveable in game without the use of Amiibos are amazing, and I don't understand how it has taken Nintendo this long to figure this out. Yes the paraglider skins are exclusive, but personally I don't feel that it's the same as preventing us from getting a whole ensemble of armor for missing out on one amiibo

Excellent video. There are so many frustrating articles that don't have the proper information because of obvious gun-jumping. Paraglider list was particularly appreciated. Happily I have them all already. The Zelda series of amiibo were some of the few I was actually interested in collecting. Got all the ones I wanted and just bought a set of nfc cards for the rest of the BotW unlocks. Glad everyone who couldn't afford or didn't want to bother can get the equipment now too.
As a proud owner of every zelda amiibo, I'm glad they let you get the items in game! I would feel bad myself if I did not have the ability to get items locked behind an amiibo especially with how rare they are lol
Imo, I'm incredibly happy that they apparently put in a way to get the skins in-game. It makes the cost and availability issues of amiibos a complete non-issue for the game itself. Yeah, the wolf and epona are probably still exclusives, but I never thought either were that helpful in BOTW. And damn you're quick with these. You are impressive.
Firce deity armor does NOT take star pieces it takes dragon parts (scale claw fang horn from each elemental dragon) and hinox parts (nails teeth guts) for upgrades 1-3 and lynel guts for the last one

Been using the Twilight Princess paraglider since I got it and I am never changing it. That glow at night and design are wonderful.

Exact same here, I got into BoTW late into its life cycle and was extremely disappointed to find out how much each individual amiibo cost from third party sellers; but was more than overjoyed when I bought my whole set of NFC cards for just 15 bucks.

i’m pretty sure you can get armor from the amiibo after getting it in game or the amiibo. i scanned my shiek and i have 4 shiek masks. 3 from the amiibo and 1 from the coliseum
The Dusk Claymore goes hard, especially paired with the Twilight Bow, now we just need like a Dawn Shield or something

Definitely a fan of the change to making them more accessible. Also the reprints that got done all make it easier to get things legit. And I much prefer having the option to go do another quest instead of just scanning for it. Over all, pretty happy

I want all of the great people making a living entertaining us to be successful. I just want a few days of joy with the game and am getting my copy physically. I am only missing 4 older Zelda amiibo so I am looking forward to scanning them all as I go along.
I like that various benefits are (mostly) available from more than one amiibo. Needing to collect ALL of the Zelda related ones would be a chore starting from nothing if you want a specific paraglider skin. Clothing from quests is great though. Improvements all around.

Yeah. I think they removed it because the Twilight Bow was just a reskinned Bow of Light that you used in the finale. I don't think the Light Bow is in Tears of the Kingdom so they probably reworked the Twilight Bow too.

I love the incorporation of items from the Amiibos. They aren't utilized enough.
Especially since unused items can be fused with any weapons.
I think it’s great that you can get them in game and get them via the Amiibo. I’m not a very big Amiibo collector, but I am a completionist when it comes to the games. So this is big for me, and I would appreciate the working for it in the games more than anything else.

I'm really sad to see the twilight/dusk bow get nerfed (also really sad that it lost it's cool glowing arrow effect). Back in BotW, I didn't really use it for combat because I liked keeping it as a collectable, but I would on rare occasions break it out to help me solve a handful of aggravating korok balloon puzzles (like that one on death mountain where the balloon is really far away, but I couldn't use bomb arrows to up my chance of hitting it because they'd just blow up in my face, or the one in Hyrule castle where the balloon is *absurdly* far away and I just couldn't get the shot right with a normal bow). Being able to hit those super distant targets by just aiming straight at them instead of desperately trying to tweak my angle for the hundredth time was the only reason I finished some of those korok puzzles.
I am SO STOKED!
Fierce Deity set is my absolute favorite, and it’s the only one I used in BotW, so I’m super glad I can get it and use it in TotK. Also, really cool that Nintendo made all of this gear available in game without having to have the amiibos 👍🏽

@@BoredomStudios That's awfully selfish of you. Also kind of your own fault. You can get amiibo cards for a few cents each. And you can still get the items early via amiibo insteda of having to find them so it's still a bonus. It's just that other people can get that stuff too now when they couldn't before. If you seriously get "super unhappy" about people being able to get things, you're an asshole.

I made all the amiibo tags i didn't have already last night, but this video is still very helpful to reference! there were multiple conflicting sources for what each one gave when the game leaked and people were playing on emulator, so this is helpful for keeping track + sending to friends who dont know how amiibo stuff works.

Do you know if Epona can be teleported this time around with ancient armor or similar device? It's the main reason I always kept her at the stables in BOTW and used a different horse. I didn't like the mechanic of only having the horse come if it was in range to hear you whistle.

Some clarification on the gliders. Do those just instantly unlock on a scan, or are those also a random chest drop?
I assume random - I did ganondorf, young Link, rider link, mipha and zelda/loftwing last night and I didn’t get the ganondorf glider skin on a first scan.

You forgot something big about the dusk bow differences, it uses regular arrows now. in botw it would shoot its own light projectiles.
I wish they would've let you dye the different era tunics this time. At the very least the Ocarina of Time one since canonically the Fire Resistance and Water Breathing tunics from OOT were just recolors of the classic tunic so it would've been cool to do that in TOTK. Also, am I the only one hoping they have an update that adds the Hyrule Warriors outfit into TOTK? It's already modeled just add it in, it'd be really cool. I love the blue scarf.

I got so hyped when I found my first previously amiibo or dlc only armor. I feel like a treasure hunter hunting for theese things, it's so fun lol.
Personally, I own over 100 unique amiibos, and I love that the armors can be gotten without the amiibo, it makes players feel rewarded for playing through, AND it makes players who have the amiibo feel rewarded for owning them from the start, still sad about my boi wolf link not in yhe game though i miss him
The Mirror of Twilight and Majora's Mask paragliders are my favorites. Fitting I have to amiibos to unlock them early but also great you can earn these via gameplay instead of looking for the amiibo or buying NFC cards

I'm sure you know this by now, but scanning the amiibos will give you multiple copies of the armour sets. It's a great way of getting rupees by selling the additional ones. Usually get between 2-4 a day by scanning them all.
Having the armors achieveable in game without the use of Amiibos are amazing, and I don't understand how it has taken Nintendo this long to figure this out.
Yes the paraglider skins are exclusive, but personally I don't feel that it's the same as preventing us from getting a whole ensemble of armor for missing out on one amiibo
Just wanted to mention NFC Cards Zelda Related will Work i got the Majoras Mask Fabric & Mirror Fabric Paraglider, i can assume u can get most things with them 👍🏻 just Date Jump
Excellent video. There are so many frustrating articles that don't have the proper information because of obvious gun-jumping. Paraglider list was particularly appreciated. Happily I have them all already.
The Zelda series of amiibo were some of the few I was actually interested in collecting. Got all the ones I wanted and just bought a set of nfc cards for the rest of the BotW unlocks. Glad everyone who couldn't afford or didn't want to bother can get the equipment now too.
I can confirm that the Wolf link amiibo grants meat and a very low chance of spawning the mirror of twilight fabric for your paraglider

4:15 the only drop I’ve got from wolf Link is a motive for the paraglider. I use it daily and get a ton of meat every time.
As a proud owner of every zelda amiibo, I'm glad they let you get the items in game! I would feel bad myself if I did not have the ability to get items locked behind an amiibo especially with how rare they are lol

Imo, I'm incredibly happy that they apparently put in a way to get the skins in-game. It makes the cost and availability issues of amiibos a complete non-issue for the game itself. Yeah, the wolf and epona are probably still exclusives, but I never thought either were that helpful in BOTW.

Another cool thing about the Majora's Mask paraglider is that the eyes stare at you no matter the angle. Which is creepy cool!
Firce deity armor does NOT take star pieces it takes dragon parts (scale claw fang horn from each elemental dragon) and hinox parts (nails teeth guts) for upgrades 1-3 and lynel guts for the last one
