I like the buffalo echange logo use of different fonts. It gives you the idea that the store has a buncha different items from many different places and people, etc.
In Germany a smiley sun is associated with gambling companies so to me that's what I think of. I also don't think it really matches the name very well. That said, it's the ONLY redesign so far that I'm not so keen on and I still enjoy seeing what ideas she comes up with.
As a European I don't really know these brands, so contrary to most people's opinion I actually liked the Buffalo logo the most (reminds me of a really nice chocolate brand called Tony's Chocolonely just font and colourwise) and disliked the goodwill the most, since I just don't think the heart matches the flow of the letters that well... But overall great job! Love the re-brandings you always present 🖤🖤🖤
i really enjoy these videos! You typically show a clean minimalistic style with a hint of vintage, so something completely the opposite would be really fun! Especially for brands that are simple minimalistic to begin with (e.g. turning glossier logo into kat von d style but somehow keeping the fluid dewy feel)

it makes me smile when she defends herself for switching to RGB like it’s a really controversial topic bc i don’t know anything about art so i have no idea what the tea is there HAHA kel is such a cutie, i love these vids
I know it’s a year later and no one cares but RGB is the colour mode used for screens and CMYK is used for printing. Problem is, CMYK has a lower gamut than RGB (basically you can’t make as many colours in CMYK), so if you’re designing something for cross media (like branding and logos, which you would want to be the same colour in person and online) you should stick within the CMYK gamut for your design. Kel wanted a brighter colour than what was available in CMYK so they switched to RGB, even though they wouldn’t be able to print something out that was the same colour. It doesn’t matter AT ALL for a fun little branding assignment like this which makes it funnier that they called it out in the first place

personally I think the original buffalo exchange logo is better bc it relates to the store much better. when you see it youd think it's a store w unusual and mixed styles with clothes from everywhere.
anna rose I think the original just looks messy and gives a bad impression. The addition of multiple colors kind of keeps the "mixed" feeling while looking pleasant. Just my opinion though

When you make a stroke to design the heart you can use the width tool. That might be one thing to think of as the font has varying weights and serifs in the word Goodwill.
The actual Buffalo logo looks so 90s That said, personally I'm impartial to it. The different fonts and weights in the letters work in the context of a thrift shop logo. But I also like how your redesign maintains that sort of jumbled vibe and makes it consistent too. Unless it's all black.
That Buffalo logo reminds me of like 90s television shows. You made it so much better! I think my favorite is the Goodwill logo redesign, so simple love it!
sarah p I just googled the guy who started goodwill. It’s Edgar J Helms seems like an upstanding good guy. However it now has no one owner now but Jim gibbons ceo made 729 mil in 2017
It might not be possible for legal reasons etc, but it would be really interesting to see the process for designing something for a client! Like starting from scratch and working with just what the client gives you. Love your content, it's so relaxing and inspirational~
It seems like you always have some new typefaces you’ve found. maybe you could do lil vids about a few new ones you find every once in a while or do like a Instagram post spotlighting a couple for people to try out
As a cosplayer and theatre kid, I love Goodwill. You walk in and see so much potential for costumes or props and it feels good to give things homes. I like donating stuff and drop off clothes all the time.
I almost wish you'd put a buffalo horn on the B and the L, then a cursive-esque curly tail for the O. Not even because it would look good, just because that's all I could see.
I've been a bit into digital design, but never really 100% sure. Because of you though, I feel a bit more inspired to go more in depth with it! It's so interesting..
