    just watched this movie as a result of Chris' 'recommendation'. I laughed myself silly through 95% of it. I'm an introvert, I don't really laugh out loud even watching intentional comedies, but with this film I legitimately laughed like crazy. It felt like a movie-adaptation of the DayZ early-access alpha. Definite one to watch with friends and alcohol.

      One of the zombie runs to a wall and bash her head repeatedly on it, zombies run in the woods then one of them comically collides with a tree, they use a truck full of gas to wipe zombies but STAY RIGHT NEXT TO IT AFTER SETTING THE WHOLE THING ON FIRE!!! 😫

    I just watched the movie and I really enjoyed it🤷🏻‍♂️ yeah some of the editing was bad but I still enjoyed the premise overall and the idea is really cool. I didn’t really get how he SPOILER ALERT called the bomb then didn’t call the bomb and was with his son and then it turns out he was just walking in the circle. But I still enjoyed it

    • @mrBWgames
      @mrBWgames 3 года назад +6

      I don’t see why so many people dislike it. I thought it was very good for the most part. And as for the ending, I saw another review where someone theorized that maybe he had been turned by the red hooded guy as he approached him in the truck. He “killed him” but at the end you never see a body, and maybe him walking with his son and blowing the tower was all in his head or what could’ve happened.

    • @douglasphillips9381
      @douglasphillips9381 2 года назад +3

      I sore the movie like a metaphor, down loading information to the masses and all the people had one thought and if your not part of that well then your in trouble. I found it really powerful seeing the masses running in that circle with one thought one movement totally in controlled of the information buzz. I love this film very good.

      @tonykoslowski5010 8 лет назад

      +waymire01 What do you mean it's been destroyed? Do you mean the casting choices or something? What makes you think it's gonna be bad?

    • @waymire01
      @waymire01 8 лет назад +5

      They have chopped, combined, and changed the entire story beyond recognition. Now they are suggesting it isn't actually the story of TDT novels.. but a subsequent journey to the tower (if you haven't finished the books I'm hesitant to elaborate on that and ruin it for anyone) which still doesn't make sense since Roland was still himself.

    • @tonykoslowski5010

      As far as I've understood it, it's just the people announcing that they were notified that the channel posted a video (received a notification from RUclips). That's all it is. They just want to tell everyone else that the YT channel has just given out a notification that the video was just uploaded, and wondered if anyone else received it.

    • @BiroZombie
      @BiroZombie 8 лет назад

      I've already stated in a previous video that YT should implement a system like Twitch, and give YT channel the option to ban certain words and phrases. If you try to post them, such as "first," "I'm so early," or "notification squad," then the comment won't be posted. Heck, I'd make them feel better about posting those comments anyway, but then state at the bottom of that comment that it was posted, but no one else can see it, except you.

    Yes, King wrote the 1st draft of the screenplay. However, I believe that he had as much to do with the final script of this movie as he did with the script of the CHILDREN OF THE CORN remake from 2009. No, seriously, he is credited for writing the screenplay of the CHILDREN OF THE CORN remake, which he denies having any part of.

    The part that threw me off was when they decided to napalm torch the field of kid zombies at the school. They literally just meet this headmaster and 1 student. The headmaster goes "We can torch them, blow them up we have a spray truck". Then Cusack, Jackson, and the other girl just go "Ok sounds good!" Lol. No discussion about why the headmaster hadn't done it yet.....nothing. Just, "sure thing boss!" Also, why come up with some complicated plan burning them? They were smashing skulls with the truck! Why not just take them out that way? Or a multitude of other ways!

    What I don't get about movies/stories like this is WHY?? You start the movie with an intrigue and set up a "quest"; then you have the characters die off one by one, and then get to the end with NO resolve, NO answers to how or why this happened, NO one succeeds on their 'quest', and everyone dies. Why have the characters survive in the beginning?? They could of just all dies right there at the airport and the ending would have been the same...

      Deric James Look up the trailer. The trailer got me hooked when I saw it in the theater in front of Brick Mansions (I know; I saw it for Paul Walker (RIP); I thought they'd show it in front of something like The Raid 2, but I was surprised they showed it in front of something like that, which was a wide release), and I was beyond elated when I found out it was coming to my area, and I saw it as soon as I could. Anyway, pretty interesting movie. You'll see a facility in most of the trailer (when it gets to there in the movie, it really gets going).

    Just saw this with my girlfriend because she's a huge Stephen King fan. Figured it would be gripping and pull you in like anything associated with Stephen King does... But instead we sat and laughed the entire time. It went from being hilarious to just totally pitiful. The scene where they burn the bodies in the field after using the spray truck was so bad I nearly peed myself laughing. Best unintended comedy of all time. Worth the watch if you have literally nothing (and i mean fucking nothing) to do.

  • @Justmyhandle
    @Justmyhandle 8 лет назад

    Crap, I was really looking forward to this too! I swear, why can't people get Stephen King right more often? I get that several of his more popular stories are convoluted and difficult to translate at points on film (It, The Stand, Desperation, Rose Red, etc), but Cell is pretty comparatively straightforward if you've read it. It's basically Pulse + The Crazies + almost every zombie flick, but it moves the plot at a fair pace while consistently surprising regarding how the "phoners" behave and evolve over time.
    While the ending does leave virtually everything ambiguous, the way it's written justifies it. Cusack's character is the center of the story, and his one goal was to find his son. To explore beyond that in some exposition-heavy epilogue would have felt out of place. It's frustrating how filmmakers today still struggle with King's works. Granted, King is no quality director or screenwriter, nor is Cusack, but their combined input could have really helped the project, had it been taken more into consideration.
    Oh well. Maybe in a few years, if no one beats me to it, I can take a shot at a better quality remake.

    Not a great movie, but I definitely understood what it was saying - people are so addicted to their cell phones, they are turning into mindless zombies. Cool to see actors like Cusack and Jackson playing in something like this. Considering how most of Stephen Kings movie adaptations are, this one aint so bad....Thumbs up as far as I am concerned, worth a watch, but I really don't go into King movies expecting much.
