Rohit is a terrific batsmen, make no mistake, his WC19 100 against SA was on a seaming and tricky pitch against a quality attack, but in swinging and seaming conditions, only Virat and MS have played good knocks over the years.
Rohit is a terrific white ball player, but in red ball he has never proved himself technically. But again, I guess world over batsmens techniques have fallen a lot.

Probably Virat saved his testcareer there by dropping him & picking him for the flatter Aus test tour.
Rohit has a poor average in SENA countries in tests, when the ball really swings/seams.
Kohli has improved a lot and proved himself on SA tour, Eng tour.
But Dravid is on a whole level when test technique is concerned.
The kind of bowlers he played, the conditions he played in, and his overseas knocks speak for themselves.
Infact he has one of the highest averages overseas for an Indian batsmen, if not the highest.
Again, don't mix white ball and red ball skills.
Both are very different.
Rohit is a very good white ball player, probably the best ODI opener after Sachin, but a mediocre test player.
