Keeping it original adds value. Dragging parts through the bed like a salvage truck 😮
Way cool 😎 thanks 👍👍👍👍👍😊
289 and 302 and 3 speed automatic c4 lots of power no cutting frame dog house no mods needed change radiator to v8 very reliable 🇺🇸👍
Put a straight Six in it like Cooper has in his Camero from Freedom Factory n its a 7 second car n its Fast
302 Ford Small Block would fit perfectly. It’s a narrow engine width. But you have to use the stock mustang cast exhaust manifolds.
Jeep 4.2l or 4.0 straight sixes are easy to build, tons of torque, and last forever. Ive got a 4.2 with 368000 and still runs great
A real unicorn , don't look away or it will disappear.
The ford 300 I6 will drag the last LS motor to the scrapyard. Consider doing 4.9 with added turbo.
Been waiting to see this econoline. Looks great. Leave a six in it, try and get an Aussie Ford Barra six for it. The turbo version will eat V8’s. IMO. 🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍
Coyote is the way to go !! Thanks for another , Brother !!
I agree but it’s wayyyyy to big haha. those Y blocks are crazy wide
I bet your dad is a cool guy...
R2.8 Cummins maybe?
The dog house your talking about is just a Doge van dog house of the same years
I wonder if any of those were converted into drag wheel standers ?
Not too many of the rare versions of the military crew cab with a 3 cylinder diesel engine four-wheel drive. They had one in military vehicle Magazine 2013 they did a motor pool restore slow as molasses but Unstoppable also noisy as hell.
Pete i have connections to a yellow one of those trucks
170 straight 6
Me? I'd keep it as is or restore it as it was originally. That truck is WAY too nice to to modify. Drivability-wise, while keeping the straight 6, can you put a 4-speed in it? Maybe change the ring and pinion?
I, personally, like these cabover pickup trucks (Jeep FC, Ford Econoline, Chevy, VW, Dodge). This one is so pristine that it would be a real shame to change it in any way.
As they say, "It's only original once."
I couldn’t agree more with the it’s only original once statement! I’ve had a stock one tho and it’s pretty lame and hard to drive a lot because it’s always between gears or broken haha
put a wiilys four cylinder in it.
My brother bought a new one that had a 260 V8 and 3 speed from the factory from Beglin Ford in Beaver, Pa so I know they made a factory dog house for them. Why not put a 302 in it?
Cost to hp and reliability
In my eyes a V8 is a V8
The brand means nothing to me, the LS is cheap, reliable and fast. The 289 will be mega expensive and less reliable than the LS
@@Ironcitygarage Got ya, Bill
how much for two late 40s or early 50s chevy cabs
Have one 48’ cab now $1000
What about a bara and its a ford ?
Ford 300 Straight Six Clifford four barrel intake and A Holley Sniper system along with split exhaust headers for true dual exhaust keep it within the spirit of it as a work truck.
That’s a great option got a lot of thinking to do about the final game plan before finishing it up.
Please, not another Chevy engine in a Ford/John Deere/Magnavox TV console, etc.
A 300 Six and a four speed with a 2bbl carb...will not go blazing fast but will haul or tow anything..even up the Western Pennsylvania hills.
Please don’t put ls in it
Enough with the cheap LS
Ford 4.9l straight six. Modify to your taste and budget! 😎👍🛻
