Played in the mid-90's.Won 3 National Championships.(due to hard work) and lately been to several practices, a couple times standing next to my awesome former Coach T.O., both shaking our heads in bewilderment. Players are literally getting half the reps that we did, there are no fights, and there is no intensity. I know this statement will bring controversy. Guys, you have 4 years of your life and have been given this opporrtunity. You are the elite! Watch Kenney Chesney "Boys of Fall".
This video still make me tear up. I remember watching this game with my family and when Burkhead dodge the defensive player coming for him we screamed so loud. Loved this game. GBR
It's ok. A lot of NEB games these days bring tears to people's eyes. 20 yrs since the last conference title and still a losing bowl record 120 yrs after they began playing football.
The Big 8/12 was still strong in the 90's. When Nebraska won the national championship in 1995, half of the Big 8 conference finished in the top 10 nationally.
Good game, theOSU. I'm hoping this can turn into the kind of rivalry we used to have with OU. Great fans, intense games, lots of cleanhardhits, and smack talk that comes from respect instead of ridicule. the OSU fans and players I met were nothing but classy. Looking forward to a trip to the SHOE! GBR!!
@URpoopstinks2 the reason our defense died after miller got hurt was because ya couldnt stop us with miller, he was constantly on the field, he gets injured, and our backup made sure nebraska stayed on the field the rest of the game.
As a buckeye fan, big respect to Nebraska for this win. I remember watching this in the dorms as a freshman, one of the more frustrating painful losses to watch haha.
@iri1shman86 we will see. Its a good fit, I think we'll be alright. I definitely think Michigan is the favorite in the division year in and year out till Nebraska finally gets a staff that stays together for longer than 2 seasons. Then there will be some awesome battles.
True. Honestly I don't know Brion Carnes has seen little to no action in games, but if Martinez would have gotten injured our offensive gameplan would have changed. I could actually have seen Rex run the wildcat, but who knows. I just can't wait for football season
This was such a great game for those who watched to the end. I don't know if Ohio State would have won or lost had Braxton not gotten hurt (Nebraska had all the momentum and was coming back already), but it definitely would have been harder for Nebraska to win. Great game, and I think that the future is bright for the Huskers! Almost all the skill position players are coming back next year and the O-line is as deep and talented as it's been in a long time.
Hey pal Nebraska went to bowl games every year from 1969 to 2003, thats 35 years in a row. Ohio State's longest bowl streak was from 1972 to 1986, that's 15 years, looks like you guys have some catching up to do
Great Game OSU...but David's play energized the fellas and when Miller left the game it was a matter of time.....althought it didn't seem like it at the time...GO Big Red!!!
PLEASE make more!!!! This video was balanced, awesome quality, and made me get a lump in my throat when Burkhead spun off the tackle in the endzone and rolls the guy into the media line. 4:14
I'm just going to say...if you think for a moment our 83 team was better than our 95 team--you're crazy. The 95 team was named by ESPN the best team of college football all-time, period.
I get the biggest goosebumps ever when I hear the voice of the husker sports casters when the huskers make a big play. Or whenever I hear the crowd roar.
God I wish you guys joined the Big 10 in the 90s instead of the Troublemakers in Happy Valley. The Big 12 was quite a bit weaker in the 90s (Texas & Oklahoma werent nearly as good) than its been recently. You have to remember the Big 10 was THE best conference in college football in the 90s too. We were going like 6-1 or 5-2 in Bowl Games every year (look how terrible we are now in Bowls).
@cocopelad Yea but that wasn't the final score, was it? Of course I wish the Huskers did as well in the first half as they did in the second half but it's a win and personally, I'll take it.
@Billygizzle08 Tressel was forced out three days after Sports Illustrated alerted Ohio State officials that the wrongdoing by Tressel's players was far more widespread than had been reported. SI learned that the memorabilia-for-tattoos violations actually stretched back to 2002, Tressel's second season at Ohio State, and involved at least 28 players 22 more than the university has acknowledged.
The bucks had this game until braxton got hurt. With urban meyer running the spread with braxton the huskers will wish they never would've joined this conference
Ironic...everyone said THE ohio state had the talent. Guess which team has more superbowl rings. Spoiler alert, it is the crimson and cream. Go Big Red!!!!
Funny. In the 90s, I always thought that even the really good Tom Osborne teams were lucky not to be in the Big 10. Teams like Ohio State (even with our Incompetent coach Cooper) & Michigan had some really good teams in the 90s that wouldve matched up well (on BOTH sides of the ball) against those Huskers teams.
Did I say anything about us beating you down? No I didn't, and don't complain about injuries. Dennard was playing hurt and so was Crick. Oh and thank you for your approval of our bowl streak I was worried you wouldn't accept it because your opinion means so much. Outcoached? more like out played.
Crazy how loaded this team was... which is why what happened in the big chamionship game baffles me... NFL guys include: Rex Burkhead/Quincy Enumwa/ Levonte David/ Ameer Abullah/ Stanley Jean Baptise/ Will Compton/Kenny Bell... Just to name a few smh...
@kirkferentzrocks Thank you for your nice comment - it's nice when people can appreciate other teams' accomplishments, even if it isn't your own team! Good luck to your team too! :)
I'm not saying that Ohio state has bad fans but at halftime I went to go take a piss and there were Ohio state fans in there and they were talking so much crap to Nebraska fans which really pissed me off so I was really happy to see the look on there faces when Nebraska came back GBR
@Billygizzle08 Michigan has more retroactive national titles. When it comes to real national titles (AP and Coaches) they only have two 1948 and 1997. (1947 title based on a No. 1 ranking in a post-Rose Bowl AP poll which the AP itself does not recognize as official, and is not recognized by the NCAA.) Ohio State didn't lose to a Nebraska team thats playing all that great this year as well.
@GoBigRed211 Sorry strongly disagree. I am a Buckeye fan and congratulations on the win. Momentum, injuries, nor players of OSU are to blame. The coaches are! Our play calling offensively and defensively in the last 22 minutes of the game were horrible. We played Tressel ball waiting for Martinez to make a mistake in deep passes. Bo Pelini said fine we will run and pass to the flats. Instead of adjusting back our coaches stayed waiting for the deep pass.
@billgrip Nebraska returns 6 starters on offense and 8 starters on defense. They have 2 juco kids coming in on defense and the offense is deep. Top 4 qb's back, top 4 rb's back, 3 out of 4 wr's back, both te's back and a redshirt wr named Taariq Allen is gonna be impossible to cover. Can't wait for the season to start.
@jasartrip9598 Braxton is one hell of a QB, by the time he's a senior, I'll be surprised if he isn't one of the top in the nation. Wish Martinez could throw half as well. :)
Love everything about these videos - when inspiring comebacks shake the CFB world in Lincoln stadium (please add the actual score in these videos somewhere discretely onscreen in the future!! This video didn't at all convey the sense that they completed the biggest comeback in school history; at least not until the end)
@Billygizzle08 i think our defense will give braxton miller hell in his Junior/Senior year. we have great talent in the secondary they just need some experience. by the way dont be too proud of braxton miller cause our defense is mediocre this year at best because as i recall (and i dont know the exact stats)but braxton miller was sacked 9 times against michigan state and only one touchdown? but i agree that if miller wasnt hurt nebraska would have lost. it wasnt the fumble that turned it around
@Billygizzle08 Then Nebraska has 11 National Championships. 1970,1971,1980.1981,1982,1983,1984,1993,1994,1995,1997. If it really does not matter. Ohio State didn't play a Husker team with its standard top 10 D. Huskers have a young team and Ohio State got caught cheating.
what an insult to Robinson... lol. To quote my wife "his throw looks worse than mine..." nuff said.... no chance of competing until we wake up and get a new QB with a head for the spot, or he graduates.
@Billygizzle08 Tressel lied and covered up NCAA violations. He "permitted football student-athletes to participate in intercollegiate athletics while ineligible". The violations had been ongoing from 2002. Ohio State gave Tressel an ultimatum, resign or be fired. Ohio States last NC was 9 years ago and Nebraska was 14 years ago. Not that big of a time difference.
@huskerfreak1995 Lol i was talking about how they put that big N on the screen so that anybody that used it ment that people would know its not there footage. I will remove the comment.... Go Big Red!
Billy your QB is great, but him getting hurt doesn't really explain why your D allowed Nebraska to score 28 unanswered points. Maybe it wasn't your D that failed, maybe it was Nebraska's entire team coming to life after a big play like they did at Missouri in 09. There are no second chances you have to win your games, and one more thing the true fans of a traditional powerhouse like NU and OSU shouldn't be making petty excuses when their team loses
@jasartrip9598 OSU wooped the Badgers? 33-29 is hardly a "wooping." I'll give your team the respect for the win regardless. Part of the game is dealing with injuries and overcoming them, your second string QB couldn't do that. No one can say what would have happened if Miller had stayed in the game, especially given the fact that the Blackshirts were picking up momentum. Both teams started the year struggling a little bit, but they are both picking up now. Perhaps they will meet in Indy. GBR
Yeah people said the '01-02 Miami Canes couldn't be touched either. I wish the BCS started a year earlier and you guys played Michigan for the Title in '97. Whats sad about Michigan is that title is not outright and thats the only title they have in the last 60 years. Yet......they still brag about their 11 Titles.
@URpoopstinks2 braxton is getting really good, you cant blame him for getting sacked 9 times. and yes your defense is mediocre this year, a freshman qb torched them. but i gotta give it up to you, you actually admitted they woulda lost. i like nebraska in the big ten, ohio state nebraska gonna have some battles
@GoBigRed211 Bo Pelini has to be laughing at our coaches right now thinking "What a bunch of idiots" I know I would be. I didnt expect a win but I didnt expect to have another Tressel break down! Oh I am sorry it just seemed like Jim Tressel. Did the same thing against Arkansas and got a few lucky breaks. Cost us the USC game last year. Urban Meyer even said our Defense never adjusted. Need to get rid of all the coaches and anyone to do with the staff.
@LincolnBoy71 If you just count AP and Coaches national titles Ohio State and Nebraska both have five. Ohio State likes counting BS national titles like 1961 and 1970. If the Huskers did that we would have 11.
I was born in Germany and moved here as a kid. The fan base is what put me off about the team. I watched Michigan a lot as a kid during their Hart, Henne, Edwards, Manningham days and loved everything about it. Thats how I became a Michigan fan (Judge me haha). You're right though, I should've been a little less ignorant in my post. Take it easy though man, and GO BLUE! haha
are ohio state fans mad that you lost ONE game because your quarterback got hurt? when our qaurterback got hurt last year the whole season went down the drain (seeing as he was the only part of our offense). its like your telling us shit we dont know. besides what part of miller getting hurt caused your defense to lay down and die?

excellent cinematography work on these husker athletic videos. great artistic sense and ability to get one right in the thick of the game...
3:13 that was a freaking good play

4:19 best move of Superman's illlustrious career.
@URpoopstinks2 the reason our defense died after miller got hurt was because ya couldnt stop us with miller, he was constantly on the field, he gets injured, and our backup made sure nebraska stayed on the field the rest of the game.
Burkhead (Superman) was an unstoppable beast that night.
As a buckeye fan, big respect to Nebraska for this win. I remember watching this in the dorms as a freshman, one of the more frustrating painful losses to watch haha.

So glad Cassidy is graduating...every play they scored or got substantial yardage you can see him get beat, miss a tackle, or take a bad angle.
True. Honestly I don't know Brion Carnes has seen little to no action in games, but if Martinez would have gotten injured our offensive gameplan would have changed. I could actually have seen Rex run the wildcat, but who knows. I just can't wait for football season
@Billygizzle08 Speculation at best. What part of his injury caused your defense to give up?
We'll put their name to the test.
Big 12 would dominate in the 90's. Nebraska won multiple championships then.
This was such a great game for those who watched to the end. This was a great game to watch. The score at the end was all that mattered
@jasartrip9598 me too. im hoping for great games for years to come!
GBR all day every day. Thumbs up if u are a true husker fan.
We will get you guys next year at the Shoe

@Billygizzle08 Except he'll only see us once more during a regular season.
I was at this game in the student section, freaking crazy
I wasn't born yet.
i'm sorry but everytime i watch that move burkehead put down i get goosebumps. 4:19

Fine with me. While you're talking to your imaginary friends, tell them I said hi.
Hell yea those are my huskers! u just watch we coming out with heart next year, all i can say is here we come big ten championship

So the OSU fans can't go to a bowl game so they come on here to trash talk about a game that happened a year ago? Classy
6 years ago. And Nebraska sucks because they won.
I was born in Germany and moved here as a kid. The fan base is what put me off about the team. forget about recruiting little one? OSU #1 recruiting class on scout and #2 on Rivals and 247.
haha sounds like something a 3 year old would say :p
dude... title* you're making husker fans look bad.
You can talk shit all you want, but at the end of the day, osu is 11-0. GO BUCKS
