Agreed only downside was that I felt he was a little overpowered compared to the other turtles Imo they should have had him be more of a jack of all trades to better balance the team - Second smartest to Don - Second strongest to Ralph - Second most gifted to Mikey

Leonardo trains the most so what he has is well-earned but for the other turtles it is extremely easy as it comes natural to them. I think the point that is made repeatedly throughout the series as well is if Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo trained as much as Leonardo does they would definitely be well beyond his level. This especially goes for Michelangelo who is already so naturally talented.
I love that you can genuinely tell they enjoy being together. Like, they actively chose to hang out with each other and be a family on both a bigger and smaller scale. They literally fight demons to save each other and break the laws of time and space to get their family back together, but hey, playing video games together and going skateboarding on roof tops doesn’t sound too bad either.

I think this show is the best at showing their dynamic. 2012 is a little too much about the fights and just being a team, while rise is mainly just about them having fun and being bros. 2003 has a perfect balance of the two.

The pigeon trick is actually taken from the original Mirage Comic 1984, when they break in to TCRI. And that is one reason why i hold the 2003 version so highly. They took some original storylines from Mirage and put them in the show. And they did it good.
You forgot the clip where Mikey makes a stuffed animal in Raph’s likeness and carries it around during battle. It’s so cute watching him hero worship his older brother

I have a soft spot for the original 87 series, but the thing they missed, which the 2003 got perfectly, was that (as said in the theme song) they're teenage brothers. They act like teenage brothers. Even referring to each other by nicknames illustrates this.
Notice how Don is always the one that's the first to grab on ledges and the others just grab onto his legs? They do moments like that a few times of the series and I can't help but wonder if that's a strain on him. Either that or he's the strongest Turtle.
