- This Imtamin Looping Starship is different from most pirate ship rides because it does multiple 360° revolutions. It's one of six located in the USA including Berserker at Kings Dominion, Southern Star at Carowinds and Looping Starship at Valleyfair, but can you name one that's not in America? Just don't get it confused with similar Weber Traumboot (Dreamboat) or HUSS Ranger rotating ship rides.

I remember going in this with my brother it was AWSOME but when I went upside down I got REALY bad dry mouth but it really fun and my love for pirate ships still remains
That thing is too slow... I would HATE that. I'd rather just go fast than to be hung upside down for 2 seconds...

I remember 25 years ago, a boy lost his breakfast of scrambled eggs. Rows of people trapped and just covered in the stuff. Boy, did this draw a crowd.
This ride got me to tears when i got on it!!!i was at the 2nd at the back!!!and i was on tears i was not with a parent or any adult i was just with the my cousin and we were in tears all the kids were!!!We thought it would rollup to the top and go but we got on tears and in the drop tower it make me feel like i was sliding of the seat like i was like my butt was following the seat but my butt wasn't sticked to the chair and i was only 8 and i learned a lesson!!!I WILL NEVER GO ON A RIDE EVER AGAIN BUT I WILL STILL JOIN AMUSEMENT PARKS ON FOUNDATION DAY!!!THIS BROUGHT ME INTO DEEP HEART TEARS
I remember getting on this when I was younger, and I was screaming and crying so much that they stopped the ride XDXD

I went on this. It pushes down on you hard and kinda hurts but that's just for safety XD it isn't as bad as I thought. I thought it would be scary as crap XD it wasn't that bad. It was really fun.

I have a really weird relationship with this ride. I remember when I was 7 I ride it 5 times back to back! I will admit though, the restraints are not the best, I’d much prefer the ‘Normal’ ones like on Cheetah Hunt and Ring Of Fire. This is probably the only ride I get genuinely scared on. I love the swinging and full revolutions, but the hangs really get me 😂.

Went on this when i was like 11.....honestly one of the most terrifying rides ive ever been on. I want this thing to end asap and literally kissed the floor after the ride was over.

Never went on this but always enjoyed the clinking sounds of everyone's loose change, car keys, and sunglasses hitting the ground as they fell out of people's pockets when they were upside down
There isn't a rollercoaster that scares me or gives me anxiety...EVER! However, certain flat rides like drop towers and this insane pirate ship DO! Ugh I can't handle flat rides they're so nerveracking!
Also there is one standing but not operating at a park in Venezuela that used to be Jet Scream at Canada's Wonderland (1990-2010).
I rode the one at Carowinds (Charlotte, NC) but that has been some time ago....1999. lol A lot has changed since ' 99 at Carowinds such as the Intimidator coaster added & other rides i'm sure.
I need to go here. I love this type of ride. It looks a tad smaller than Endeavor at CGA and Southern Star/Carowinds but I'm sure it packs an equal punch.
I should've went here in college when my friends and I went to a ton of amusement parks but the Africa theme here turned us off.
I might be going next summer and I'm so excited!!!!
The Looping Starship outside of the U.S is Pirate's Revenge at Sunway Lagoon in Malaysia.
This is getting ripped out in 2023, I don't think there are many left in existence
this ride is so scary you feel like you're going to fall of i do this ride before in the tv and it went lower than this.
There is second ride cycle where it flips one way then switch and flip you the other way but that mode is rarely used.
I can remember this ride when it first opened in 1982 when I was only 12 years old. The ride was originally painted a very dark brown up until early 2000's? Then it was painted blue, and now it's reddish in color. I liked the original brown color the best for some reason. I rode the hell out of this ride in 1986 when I was 16. It is so much fun. A lot of good memories of when I was young. I miss those days dearly. I haven't rode it in years, since the mid 90's. I hope to ride it again someday soon before they dicide to get rid of it. Hopefully they will keep it going for decades to come. That will be cool if it's still there in the year 2032. I picked that year because it just sounds so futuristic. I'm amazed that it's still there in operation and in such good shape. It almost looks like it did in 1982, (except the paint color of course). I wonder if the "Sand Storm" ride is still there? It was close to the "Phoenix". That was a good ride too.
Sadly sandstorm was removed. At least bgt replaced it with falcon's fury
They had one at Six Flags Great Adventure shaped like a space shuttle, it has been gone for quite a few years now and had been there since the 80s. I think Six Flags removed these from all their parks for reasons unkown to me.

There's one of these at my home park, HMB Endeavor at California's Great America. I used to hate it with a passion but I guess it's not that bad!!
Went on this ride in 1986. Nearly came out of the ride when I was upside down as I had no support for the upper half of my body.
The part that holds your chest against the seat came down as I was tying my shoelaces.
My dad next to me never knew that this would swing upside down. It was horrifying as I remember hoping I would catch the safety net if I was to slip out

i love this ride. i rode it 2 different ways. i rode it reg. and then last oct i rode it for halloween. i wore my friends outfit and went on ride. ( outfit was my friends leather leggings ,a silk top , her leather jacket and a pair of her leather boots ) the 2nd time riding on this wearing my friends clothes the ride felt different but fun also being locked in with her leather clothing on me.
May go to bg this thursday so should i ride this
I can go on any rollercoaster but you can not get me on most flat rides.Including this one.Is there a reason for this?

If you want to go on this ride, go for it. It's not necessarily as scary as it seems. For the first few rides on it, when it goes upside down, it can take the breath out of you because of the restraints and it grips your chest tightly so it hurts your chest. And as you go upside down you dangle for a few seconds, that's the part I hated most. It also feels like you're falling out- but you're not. But I'm all serious it was really fun~
They changed the color from blue to red since when I went on it

Rode this in 2017. Been on lots of these in the uk where im from. Usually we have two that pass eachother in opposite directions but this one hurt my chest and boobs so bad. I have no idea why.
My sister was on this ride one of the last days of it being open.. she was stuck upside down for over 60 seconds
I remember going on this a year ago with my dads friend and when we were upside down I pretended to faint and this random lady started tugging at me.

In different places they may be closed because of a flaw in the rollercoaster. There may have me a mechanical issue that made someone fall out, so that’s how a lot of rides close.

This ride was no joke one of the worst theme park ride experiences of my life it was painstakingly slow the ***entire*** time and the worst part was when you paused while you were upside down

What would happen if it stalled at the top? How would they get it down (with the ride being tyre powered from the bottom)?
I imagine they have to seat you so that gravity will be persuaded to pull you down. Like at the carnival, they always seat the first and last rows before filling up the mid rows for similar reasons. Not that I know for sure, it just seems that would be the case. And there's always emergency protocol with this kind of thing as well.

I went on this twice yesterday the second time my seatbelt didnt go down all the way I screamed bloody murder I thought I was going to fall out. other than that it was fun, also on my second time I got to go around three times, good or bad thing?
Every once and a while you get a lucky ride with a lot of momentum and it loops you around multiple times.

I don't like the way the seats are made. I went on this with my family, and the seat pushes on your chest so hard when you go upside down and the forward. and it made me pass out because of the chair pushing on my chest

Wait, so Busch Gardens describes this as a "kid-friendly" ride on their website, how!? You also must be 54" to ride, I really fail to see what is so kid-friendly about this ride lol.
So, these pirate ships, atleast most of them, are controlled with wheels at the station that push it back and forth to gain momentum, so what if the wind and the momentum was just right to stop perfectly upside down at the top
