I cant be any more satisfied with our purchase. I got the v6 AWD for my wife. Ride quality is gloriously magnificent, does not lose to any other luxury brands in this category, feels as if I am riding through clouds instead of hard asphalt road. Inside cabin is simple and yet refined and elegant - I much prefer this over some other makers' cluttered panels. Lastly, I notice many people doing double takes of this car. I am mightily pleased with the design - those on the design team (interior as well as exterior), along with the chassis and drivetrain team definitely nailed this one. I am also looking to purchase gv70 for myself as I prefer smaller vehicle when it comes out.
We’ve had our Prestige model since December. The thing he doesn’t mention… when you go to pull it ahead or back it up remotely… it will also straighten the wheels perfectly straight before moving the vehicle. The texture of the leather in the Prestige trim is also divine! The 3D cluster loses it’s appeal quick. There are 2 sensors that track your eye movements and every once and awhile they glitch and the cluster will flicker very quickly. We do not use the 3D function anymore. Great suv though for a first attempt! I would buy another one if they had an actual dealership here in Canada. Their Edmonton sales center absolutely blows for services. You have to take it to a shitty, crowded and busy Go Auto Hyundai dealership for service/warranty….. and it sucks!
For now they should atlease allowed customers to be able to go to Kia also for service until they established a fully operational genesis specific dealership bt then again it might be more expensive going to a genesis dealership in the future kinda like bringing your car to Lexus dealership vs a Toyota, infinity,Nissan,Honda,Acura etc there’s usually a increase in price going to the luxury dealership
@@MrGreatnessisme sure. Are you telling me you’d never go see where exactly your car is getting serviced? For $85,000 Canadian, I wanted to know. I also had to go in because their techs were giving me the run around on a warranty issue.

I drove one, it's nice and beautiful. However, no passenger seat memory, no passenger seat massage, and not even cold bottled water in the Genesis waiting room. My Audi Q7 with the 3 liters V6 and Quattro delivers 27 to 28 mpg's doing 70 mph. Genesis needs to separate itself from Hyundai quickly and lower the price. The new Acura MDX is much cheaper, and it's a great ride too. I'd pick the GV80 over everything but the Q7 and Cayenne because of the dealership network and customer service. Just my two cents.
Nah it’s a luxury suv that’s what it’s intended to be. Why would they need to lower the price. You’re getting more than what you’re already paying for. Average purchase price in 2020 for a vehicle was $35K. So I don’t think a $50K suv is outside of a middle class family’s reach
@@Playb0ymari, please show me where you can get a top-of-the-line GV80 Prestige for $50k or anywhere near $60,000? The ones I’ve seen have an MSRP closer to $70,000. When you get, above $70,000, people want more features like memory passenger seats, etc.

Because of Covid lockdown here in Melbourne, Australia, I'm only FINALLY getting my GV80, 3.5T in Matt Cardiff Green, Prestige Trim, with green/brown interior on Monday morning. I cannot wait. Thank you for this review... confirming all my buying decisions.
I had the G80 in 2017 because I got a great price. I swore I'd get the Gv80 when it came out, but the price on Genesis went up and the availability went down... too bad, it's no longer a brainless decision to get one. However still one of the nicest options in its class.
What a fantastic offering by Genesis. I just bought a GV70 3.5TT and am in love. Effortless acceleration and bespoke design inside and out. Love that there is not an ounce of shiny black plastic inside unlike the Germans and Acura. Got to test drive the GV80 while I waited for the GV70 and would have bought it if I needed the extra space.
Proud owner of a fully loaded Silver GV80 Prestige ++++++ (hahahaha). awesome ride, more than adequate power and surprising handling and the Wow Factor has everyone head turning. Ps., I set the driving mode to Custom with Sport steering and braking and comfort ride. Love it! BTW, I had to tone down the Ergo motion seat to the "whole body' middle setting. It was way too distracting to drive with your butt being massaged ....
I am definitely looking forward for a sports trim blacked out with a 5.0 twin turbo V8 in the GV 80 or probably a hybrid paired with the 3.5 twin turbo and that will be game over for most of its competitors in this segment.
I love these so much. I mean honestly it blows that bentley away with looks. The website doesnt have the Prestige on it though to build it. I guess they took it down while they catch up with production? Or maybe i'm just not using the website right
Bummer! So wish they’d waited another six months so you’d have an opportunity to repeat your snow tests with this AWD version. Great review nonetheless. Re the “rough ride quality” point that has come up a lot, check the tire pressure. Mine were overinflated by the dealership. Once adjusted, the 22s are silky smooth.

So, no, you dont have to sit next to the plebian Accent owner while having you car serviced.

If the dealership experience at Genesis wasn’t so horrendous I’d scoop one up tomorrow. I tested a G70 last month and the dealer was so bad I couldn’t bear to go back. Once they have a proper dealer network established I imagine it will get much better.
Honestly the saddest thing about owning Korean vehicles. So many people complain about the dealership experience at Hyundai/Kia dealerships. I feel like I got lucky with the Kia dealership I go to. It isn't the best but it seems like everyone else has worse experiences
@@kyron2092 yea I mean I’m not concerned if the treatment isn’t super high level, but this was ridiculous. First they had me test a completely different spec than what they said they had. Nobody can hate on how well of a job Hyundai/Genesis did with this machine. Appropriate power, tons of luxury, well-built, and impressively attractive in an age where it seems like automakers were in a race to see who can make the ugliest vehicle(coughs...BMW). When you remember that Genesis only has 5 vehicles, it becomes even more impressive. I do wish that Hyundai would invest in completely separate selling channels and ramp up supplies. The dealers are woefully inadequate in selling a $60-80k luxury vehicle.
Be sure they will . Already they offer to get the car from your place and leave a loaner . Keep in mind that Genesis is a really new brand that only existed in US till a couple of years ago and only now they starting to get some range of models... Im sure , soon Genesis will get their own premium dealeships .
Great commentary, video, and content and ty for reviewing and can't wait to see the EV's and to be honest after owning more than 12 new Hyundais and watching year by year the craftsmanship, performance, drive ability and unbeaten warranty get better ever year. Also, I and don't think we need inexperienced family drivers to have uncontrollable horsepower on tap when children in car.
This video couldn't have come in at a better time. I'm actively looking to buy a luxury mall crawler and it's between these options: X5, GLE, new MDX, and the GV80. And this couldn't be any more difficult. I'm slightly leaning towards the X5 just because of its driving dynamics (test drove every one except the GV80). Decisions, decisions...thoughts out here? GV80 is the last test drive before I pull the trigger.
Also the GV70 since I don’t really need 3 row sizing…this would be my wife’s vehicle. I already have a 5th Gen (New) Ram 1500 Limited for hauling and towing….so probably the smaller ones may be more appealing.
People are hating on a vehicle they have never even sat in. It looks great inside and out… then people want to complain about the price. How can they be competitive if they always have to undercut the competition by $15-20k??
I owned a 2019 BMW X5M and traded it in for the GV80 Prestige and love it. The BMW had speed (which also meant annual tire swaps $$$$), but the GV80 has luxury. Where I live, there's only 2 of them so it gets more attention than my M. It'll also hold it's value more than my M. I live in a snow area and would recommend a snow setup.
I ordered my Prestige a month ago and should be here in another 2-3 months. How does it deal with the snow? I'm in BC Canada, so snow is always going to be a problem
I never found any SUV of any price to be sexy, or even luxurious looking. But this GV80 Checks off so many boxes, Sexy, Sporty, and Luxurious. I will say Acura’s MDX is a very sporty and good looking SUV. Shame all new vehicles are having all these issues getting to the lots.

I just got a G70 Sport Advance RWD. I LOVE my genesis. The 1 gripe I have is the Transmission feels like the SUV (GV70) it just doesn’t feel sporty enough and I wish there was more than 375hp. The car feels slightly de-tuned which is unfortunate. But it’s a small thing and can be fixed with minor upgrades.
Korean companies like Samsung LG definitely integrate well into the Korean automobile industry. That's why Europeans and Japan car companies can't catch up with the wave of electronics interface. Korea cars are in my view at least one Gen ahead of all other car brands including Japanese cars. The only near contender is Chinese cars. Tesla is moving production to China. Which tells a lot
I have a feeling this design will age very well. And that's saying something. So far the only SUV's where that applies are the Cullinan, the Land Cruiser, and whatever porsche makes now a days in terms of SUV.
Give it time my guy. Genesis is still new. So the fact that they’re as good as they are after only 5-7 yrs is pretty impressive. I’d say 10 more years and it’ll be a luxury staple (if they keep improving & upping their game). So far…I like the GV70 and looking for that one.

I am mightily pleased with the design - those on the design team (interior as well as exterior), along with the chassis and drivetrain team definitely nailed this one. I am also looking to purchase gv70 for myself as I prefer smaller vehicle when it comes out.
I love my GV70. Beautiful cars. Definitely a head turner.
@@curiosityredpill7030 they do complimentary maintenance for three years.
Don't they include complimentary at-home pickup for service and warranty? Their website also mention that all service is free for the first 4 years.
@@MrGreatnessisme sure. Are you telling me you’d never go see where exactly your car is getting serviced? For $85,000 Canadian, I wanted to know. I also had to go in because their techs were giving me the run around on a warranty issue.
Huh. I guess it’s different here in BC? We have dedicated Genesis dealers in Richmond, Vancouver and Langley.
*Genesis is bringing the heat with their line of vehicles I would love to see if they play the model numbers game like as their cars and see a GV90 edition..*
I agree Genesis needs its own dealerships
Imagine you are on car service of your big luxury SUV from Genesis together with a guy who owns Hyundai Accent (or other creepy car from Hyundai)
:)))
There are Genesis dealerships where I live in NC.
This my favorite new vehicle on the market. They said driving Gv80 40 mph causes vibrations, shaking and veering across the road And I think that is far from true Thanks the Excellent review
@@geosh10 I wasn’t being price specific. Since you wanna be a dumbass about it $50,60K, $70K GV80. I’d still justify the price. Don’t say stupid shit like “they need to lower the price”. It’s already lower than the competitors. How much did you want it lowered to?😂
@@geosh10 2.5 awd, ,prestige, 66 to 67 k mínimum, you have to pay msrp or 3% up these are 90 % fully loaded, no Napa seats,no 3 d cluster,no 3 rd row, but lots of bells and whistles
I own a palisade limited 2021. The vehicle has tragic build quality. Please watch videos on my channel for more details. Horrible odors comes out of through the the cabin. The roof, rattles constantly when I am driving. It is extremely anoying. There is too much plastic throughout the entire cabin of the palisade limited. Everytime I go over a bump or a rock. I could hear all the plastic in the cabin making a loud squeaking noise. My experience with the palisade has been Horrible. This is actually my second palisade. I am extremely disappointed in the build quality of the palisade. I wanted to buy the Gv80. By with my experience with the palisade. I think I will look some where else. Land Rover discovery, gle, x5, aviator, or q7.b
Stunning. Love the wheels and front end.
Genesis is definitely a brand worth considering, you seem to get much more bang for your buck! considering a G70 3.3T
i have one. its great
What a fantastic offering by Genesis.
High-tech. Opulent. Beautiful. Sporty.
Tiger Woods safety tested and approved!
I am definitely looking forward for a sports trim blacked out with a 5.0 twin turbo V8 in the GV 80 or probably a hybrid paired with the 3.5 twin turbo and that will be game over for most of its competitors in this segment.
Gonna be a long wait…for the Twin Turbo V8 lol. But I agree, in a perfect world that would be the perfect power train for this machine IMHO.
The torque is actually 391 lb/ft not 368.
If they offered a chrome delete option and their three spoke sport steering wheel design this thing would be near perfect!
The steering whee choice is odd for sure. Would be nice if they offered a sportier version.
Ordered GV80 prestige 3.5tt white with dune beige... coming next week..
Telluride needs that twin turbo engine
I love these so much. I mean honestly it blows that bentley away with looks. The website doesnt have the Prestige on it though to build it. I guess they took it down while they catch up with production? Or maybe i'm just not using the website right
Bummer! So wish they’d waited another six months so you’d have an opportunity to repeat your snow tests with this AWD version. Great review nonetheless.
Re the “rough ride quality” point that has come up a lot, check the tire pressure. Mine were overinflated by the dealership. Once adjusted, the 22s are silky smooth.
Wow! It looks amazing! This is what other manufacturers will copy!
I can't get past the 80's vintage Buick Park Avenue steering wheel.
Lol I don’t mind it.
Genesis sales off the charts right now.
Must be small chart

I was with you in the intro until you said it offer as much luxury as Maybach 😂 love Genesis but woah woah hold your horses there bucko 😂
Waiting for your take on the gv70. Great video
You gotta do the GV70
Waiting for genesis to come out with a gv90
Same
I saw one in deep burgundy at dusk...stunning! Gorgeous car, can't wait to get one coming off lease in a few years.
An aspirational used vehicle in 4 years?
So glad I live in Las Vegas so when I purchase one I don't have to worry about covering up any part of the front grill with the license plate
Hyundai are add “market adjustments” to the GV80 and GV70. They will really hurt Genesis sales.
I love genesis
Genesis is the new wave you no long need bmw or Mercedes to be luxurious out here in these streets other car companies have finally caught up for alot less and I absolutely love it
In Atlanta, GA, I've seen quite a few GV80. Even in a boring color like white, it still commands attention. Hyundai/ Kia isn't daunted by the Germans or the Japanese. They are working hard and gaining appreciable results. Bravo Hyundai!
Nice classy looking suv something different from most luxurious brands
It’s perfect 🤩, I want this in green . And a GV90😳😳😳.
You don’t want a Tahoe?
@@ARUclipsChannelwithNoName haha no.🤣
@@Tahvyy I would think so considering the root word of your username is similar to Tahoe.
@@ARUclipsChannelwithNoName I would get a Tahoe, but the deal breaker is cylinder deactivation and the styling are deal breakers for me. The styling is just to over done *IN MY OPINION*, and cylinder deactivation is just horrid to deal with. I know there is a tune to disable it but come on, I would rather not pay for a tune to disable it rather than not getting it from the lot, I prefer the previous generation Tahoe styling, but that's my personal on both.
@@ARUclipsChannelwithNoName I figured that’s what you meant lol . 🤣I’m just glad you pronounced it correctly. You’d be amazed how many people don’t.😤
Damn. Really wanted this but can’t deal with rough rides.
I think the green paint color options is one of the best ones
Genesis keeping their dealerships attached to Hyundai dealerships will hold them back from anyone taking them seriously.
Dont think so with waiting lists and sticker + sales right off the truck. Regardless, I'm sure they will have stand alone stores soon enough.
@@DSRQ1 been almost four years since they broke off from Hyundai, and still no stand alone stores.
@@johnjames7712 They dont have to right now when they are selling them as fast as they come in, and sharing space with Hyundai gives them a bigger dealer network. They also offer for 3 years a complimentary valet service where they pick up your car to be serviced and give you a loaner. So, no, you dont have to sit next to the plebian Accent owner while having you car serviced.
John James building a network of dealerships takes time everybody forgets Genesis says a company is only five or six years old it took Lexus time to build that dealerships it took Acura time to build their dealerships with cars like the gv80 and the gv70 I believe in 10 years they will have a whole network of dealerships just my opinion thank you for listening
John James also there are Genesis dealerships out there they have Standalone stores I've seen one
The car they had me test had damage on the inside- the interior a-pillar was hanging off and the salesman had to rip it down just for the test drive. Then the car didn’t have any gas in it! I barely got it on the road before having to go back since the tank light was going off 🤦♂️
Nobody can hate on how well of a job Hyundai/Genesis did with this machine.
Drive the GV80! I haven't yet, but I have driven many new X5s, and yes they drive good - but I'm really curious about this GV80.
What did you decide? I’m considering the GV80 and the X5 as well as X3 M40i
Also the GV70 since I don’t really need 3 row sizing…this would be my wife’s vehicle. I already have a 5th Gen (New) Ram 1500 Limited for hauling and towing….so probably the smaller ones may be more appealing.
Beautiful suv way to go genesis
Can’t wait to see a GV90 to compete with the Navigator. Lincoln and Genesis are really on top of the game right now.
Right.. The Aviator is a beauty.. Inside and out..😊😊
No way will Genesis build a true full-size truck-based SUV. More like BMW X7 or Mercedes GLS-size for the GV90.

My concern would be more about how well it's gonna hold its value and resale vs it's competition? What maybe a value now ends up being a loss later
Big fan of Genesis
Your review was fire🔥🔥🔥 I agree with your statement that Genesis looks way better than the Bentley but in my opinion, it looks better than a ton of its competitors.

When are you going to do a review on the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander ?
Where does the front license plate go?
Is the auto start/stop annoying? I wish that could be PERMANENTLY disabled.
Can you start giving input on the speakers/sound systems in the cars you review
I just got a G70 Sport Advance RWD. I LOVE my genesis.
The 1 gripe I have is the Transmission feels like the SUV (GV70) it just doesn’t feel sporty enough and I wish there was more than 375hp. The car feels slightly de-tuned which is unfortunate. But it’s a small thing and can be fixed with minor upgrades.
The winged emblem will probably be on the refreshed model. They usually spell it out initially for brand recognition.
Genesis hybrid or electric will be great..
Why so heavy? What do other mid-sized SUV’s of this size weigh?
How about the drive feeling compare with MDX?
I have a feeling this design will age very well. And that's saying something. So far the only SUV's where that applies are the Cullinan, the Land Cruiser, and whatever porsche makes now a days in terms of SUV.
I love the way these things look......but I can't get over the fact that it's a $70K Hyundai....but then again Lexus is a Toyota and Acura is a Honda.

Give it time my guy. Genesis is still new. So the fact that they’re as good as they are after only 5-7 yrs is pretty impressive. I’d say 10 more years and it’ll be a luxury staple (if they keep improving & upping their game). So far…I like the GV70 and looking for that one.
