A majority of cops aren’t bad and it’s important to teach your kids to go to them for help.
@@RobertJohnson-hp4gz The almost totality, you mean.
@@RobertJohnson-hp4gz👍
@@RobertJohnson-hp4gz Majority? How about 99.5%
@@centurione6489 Exactly.
As someone who has had to look for lost children around a body of water, the feeling when you find them safe is incredible.
I lost sight of my daughter when she was 4 years old behind a sand dune for just a few seconds, and it was a feeling of total despair and desperation like you couldn't imagine.
My heart is pounding with fear just imagining that kind of despair. Children around water can turn tragic so quickly!
Liberals nevertheless
Cry for help over accountability
As a first responder, I can confirm
Copy that!
" Need a hug" They have never asked me that . . .
Oh my heart, when he said that.
All I ever got was "pats" 😂
Me neither.
How many opportunities have they had to fulfill your yearning?
When I ask for a hug they just tell me to "Quit resisting!"
The officer has great skill at keeping a very scary situation for the child as calm as possible. Good deescalation skills here.
You mean...his job? That's his job.
@@Mayor_Of_Eureka17. Well genius, not everyone is good at their job. 🙄
@@primitivedaisy wow no way!! This primitive lady has some brains. Great call. Now be a good little human and move along or stay common and trite and reply. Your move primitive little girl.
Well, yeah, this child is future revenue. Now, just teach the girl she will be the deescalator with police the rest of her life.
The kid wasn't scared she was walking 5 min down the beach
The gentleness in his voice when he talks to her, and the way he offered her a hug and said, "Let's go find your mommy" just warmed my heart. I don't know your name, officer, but I do know you're a good man. Thank you for serving your community.
His name's Jeff
“I’m Jeff” and the proper handshake made me smile so much. You’re an awesome cop.
I love that sweet wave and "Do you need a hug?" from the officer.
If only they did that for us average citizens instead of terrorizing us and violating their oath the the constitution.
Omg my heart when she waved 💚💚💚💚
Seriously ♥
When he waves back got me.
Found her, and gave her a hug❣️ Duplicate him. He's a hero. ❤
How is he a ''hero''? You Americans make everyone a hero.. If i tie my laces a different way than other people i'm also a hero.
Don't get me wrong, it's good and all what he did.. But it's literally his job, he just drove on the beach.. Doesn't make anyone a hero in my eyes..
@@d-24 Amen.
Hero? You have a very low bar for the use of the word hero.
He's not a hero at all. He just drove along the beach and spotted her. And he was being paid to do it. Nothing heroic about it
That officer has amazing vision.
Or hes not blind 😂😂
Someone told them exactly where she was.
Cop: OMG I think that’s her. Me: See about a dozen people nearby and a dot on the horizon that turned out 2b the lost girl.
Dashcams just look that way. Human eyes are way better than dashcams. Like when you look at the moon and it may appear large sometimes, but a picture of it always looks so underwhelming unless taken by a good photographer with a much larger camera.
Usually people have better vision than dashcams.
I loved that he asked: need a hug? That soothing alone can prevent life-long PTSD.
That was a beautiful moment. I have 3 daughters & know what it is like to have one missing for a few minutes. It was about 30 years ago & I still react when I think about it

how do you lose a 2 year old? your eyes should be off of her
I once lost my seven year old niece in a shopping centre for around fifteen minutes, I mean she was walking by the side of the baby's stroller one moment, next moment she was gone.
The worry is immense.
That would have been the worst 20 minutes of your life and give you nightmares afterwards.

Dang! She wandered waaaaaaaay on down the shore.
Probably drifting in the water due to the current
@@cigarrett Yeah, it's easy to get disoriented while swimming and come to shore at the wrong spot especially if you go farther into the water.
Thank goodness she was found safe!!! 🎉❤🎉❤
Thank you, Officer, for this and everything else you do for us!❤
Credit to the officer, he handled that situation really well.
As a retired paramedic who has done this very thing (just not on a beach), this video not only caused a flash back but instantly brought tears to my eyes when he gave her a hug. Sometimes, I wish we would have had body cams also. Great job brother!
I can only imagine the many difficult things that you must've seen and experienced throughout your career as a paramedic. It takes an incredibly special type of person to be in that field - having to endure a lot of hard circumstances that would be unimaginable to an everyday citizen such as myself. I commend, appreciate and applaud you - and hope you're enjoying every bit of your well earned retirement!
@@KelleyBroussardMackaig thank you for such kind words.
I’m extremely happy this little one was located and seemingly okay. Truly grateful for the officer! ❤
Why? He was only doing his job. And he just drove down the beach a little bit
Oh man this brought back memories .. My Parents lost My sister at Dockweiler beach in California back in like 88ish we were like 12 or so. I remember the panic in their voice. She walked to the bathroom after an hr of looking for her we found her walking up the Bike path. She was crying . Glad this girl was found safe and sound . ❤❤
It was awesome to hear everyone clap. Here in Florida we have great cops.
Thank you Sir and all of our first responders for all you do for your communities 24/7. God bless you and yours. Stay safe 🙏.
That sweet little wave, and when she said she missed her mommy, nearly had me in tears. So many kids go missing at the hands of people with bad intentions, and I'm sure every single possible scary scenario was running through mom's head... I can't even begin to imagine the relief she and her daughter must have felt when they saw each other again. 🥰
The mom's relief is only that she wasn't arrested for child endangerment.
I wanted to see the reuniting hug. ❤️✌️
Ikr? Why did they just cut that part off?
More than likely for protecting privacy of a Minor♡...
Way to go Officer 💪🙏😁
He was so sweet to that baby. I am so glad that she was found safe and sound.
God bless this amazing officer… his kindness and compassion for the girl is incredible 🥹 the way he spoke to her, introduced himself and asked her if she was ok was so touching ❤️ then he asked if she wanted a hug, that’s the sweetest gesture! He deescalated things so professionally and took care of business! Hats off to you sir, you’re an amazing individual 😊
That wave was the cutest thing Ive seen in a while….
yes, it was.
I love Love LOVE that he asked her if she needed a hug. It was nice to know she got reassurances before going to find mom.
I am so glad she is safe, I started crying when he offered her a hug. :'C
The wave by her & the office really had me tearing up. Glad she’s safe.
Born & raised in Florida on the water & I still panic if I can’t spot my girls for a split second. Can’t imagine the fear this mother felt. So so glad this wasn’t another tragic ending. Amazing job by the officers! ❤
What a great officer, and a smart young girl
Wandering away from your parents is not "smart". Only a deluded woman would call this "smart".

Can't be too many moments as a cop better than this, huh?

🥺🥺🥺 need a hug? Awwwww super cop!
Dang how did she get so far away from her mom?
On flat damp sand it is remarkably easy to wander a VERY far distance whole distracted by looking for shells or at the waves.
I myself grew up on our CA coast, always careful, yet even now in my 7th decade of life I have to remain conscious of my walking route, the tides, and the distance back to the car.... and I still tend to lose 30m or so extra than my planned "brief" stop at a beach 💁
@@seaneendelong8065 Absolutely agree. For what it’s worth, I have a little less than half of your accumulated decades and the same has happened to me. I grew up on the FL east coast (which by the way, I’m very jealous of your CA beaches/waves and I’ll never forget the dreamy, silky soft sand and expansiveness of Venice Beach).
Over here, there are beaches with no visible backdrops/landmarks for some distance, sometimes there can be no one else around, the boardwalks all look very similar, and one decent wave from the Atlantic can unknowingly shift you a few yards north or south. I’ve gotten lost at least a dozen times before but thankfully nowadays I bring my smartwatch/phone along and can retrace my steps with a map app.
Me: every child I see without a parent.
"Where's your mother?"
Same here! Can’t help it, the question just escapes my mouth.
As a mother myself I can’t stand the thought of a lost or abandoned child.
Mother superior syndrome. 😂
I asked a little girl standing all by herself looking scared, nearly in tears, where her mother was. A few minutes later a woman came storming out of a nearby store and angrily asked why I was talking to her daughter. I'm still glad I asked.
@@michellewest3404The mother should have never left her daughter outside while she went into a store. She should be grateful to you for making sure she was okay. You did the right thing. ❤❤
@@LindaHull-le1st Oh, yeah. Moms are the WORST. This is the kind of thing that happens every day, when women are mistakenly assumed to be perfect in every possible way.

Awww, asking her if she needed a hug and then giving her a hug. Oh that's beautiful.
Deputy is awesome.
No one else around there could have helped her?!
Incredible and sad at the same time..
Great job officer
She apparently didn’t ask
I commented at length to somebody else here, but it’s a combination of things. I’ll summarize… The sun’s glare affecting people’s vision, the amount of people around, preoccupation (reading/resting), the lost child not being loud/obvious enough, people watching this video have context/hindsight that those on the beach didn’t have, children are often at the shore alone with parents parked somewhere in the sand, people not wanting to approach another person’s child without being 100% certain there’s something wrong, and the general culture/bystander effect of FL being very “every man for himself” (I’m a Floridian and having been up north, this is last one is so true that it’s actually sad).
My son was lost at the beach in Destin during busiest, peak time in summer. He was so small that when others tried to help him and asked him to describe his dad, he said his dad had an oval head. Not a lot you can do with that. I was so shaky that it made us just pack up and head to the pool. Thankfully, the child in this video really hadn't gone too far to be found!
Good observation from Jojo43263 and a good response from Titanium turbine. However, I’m still surprised that no one had thought to just check and ask her if she was ok or lost.
@@stevengrant1319
Do you ask every child on the beach if they’re lost? Apparently, she didn’t appear distressed.
Very heartwarming. For the officers, must make up for all the crappy things that they have to deal with.
My cousin was 1 and my aunt only 19 when cousin disappeared as a huge group of us were next to the water. The image of my aunt running back and forth at the waters edge screaming my cousins name is forever burned into my memory. My mother found her way up near the pavilion. To this day the sand away from the water is blistering hot and there she was toddling around. My mom ran and left over people on towels to grab her. We feel someone had grabbed her and just dropped her up that way because she was too small to have gotten that far so quickly in the blistering sand.
Great work officer!!! Salute!
How did he see her from so far away? He said this might be her then drove to another time zone before stopping.
Eagle eyes
I'm not taking anything away from this officer's superb ability, to spot this little girl. But I will say, that at a sizeable distance, dash cams do make objects appear a lot smaller than as they are seen with the naked eye. And if the officer had a good description of the girl's clothing, it does look like that (neon) purple swim pants/leggings would allow someone's eye to pick up on them from a fair distance away.
@@-D-W those are excellent points and mist likely the scenario. Just when hearing him say it could be her. I then expected him to stop right away
That police officer was gentle and kind once he found the little girl, who knew she was safe. Of course she missed her mommy!
Ok, so they just got separated on a very long beach. Still scary for both; kid doesn’t know where her mom is and the mom is probably fearing the absolute worst
At least it wasn’t a matter of someone kidnapping the kid or one parent took off with her and this was days/weeks/months later
Glad it was just losing sight of each other
The incompetent mom should be arrested for child endangerment.
To protect and serve 👍🏽
