  • After being on exhibit at Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth since 2007, the 1923 Milburn Model 27L Light Electric car is prepared for its return to the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry.

    I saw this at the museum about two weeks ago. It;s amazing for its time!

    Somebody should make replicas of these early electrics. They would be fun urban electrics. 35 miles an hour is fast enough.

      Glenn Howden with lithium batteries and modern regenerative braking with capictors acting as batteries for lighting and for the requiste stereo system and phone charger with Bluetooth to take the strain off the main lithium drive batteries

    Loved the video and the automobile, but could do without the background music.
    That is the beauty of the electric car is its near-silence. I would rather hear that as it was driven outside.

    I have seen it in Malaga museum /Spain/ - fantastic !!! What Ford/GM and Rockeffeler judes done to motorisation is really tragic...hope them and all petroleum mafia go to hell..

    Apparently Milburn wagon co toledo were in business up untill 1922 , this car is a 1923 ? great car anyway.

    I would even buy this now.. would be great to go around town in.. if we had mass transportation this would be all you would need. Sad that GM sank this company (bought it out so they would not have to compete) and big oil further sank the railroads.
    So much for capitalism moving us forward.
