Am I the only one who wants a full fledged astro bot game? The game that came with the ps5 was amazing but it was obviously made as a showcase. I would really love a full game with more worlds.
Besides FF16 it's easily one of the best games you can play on the console. I've replayed that playroom game like 3 times and have even done a speedrun of it just cause it's that fun. I can't wait to see what their full fledge game is.
they are 100% waiting for a showcase/ps5 pro double presentation, PS is pretty much pulling a nintendo where they just talk about games coming out this year now and saving the good stuff when they announce their next console later

My thoughts were that they’d save a big showcase for around September, to help build hype for the ps5 pro and holiday system sales in general. Plus, they don’t want to show big games now and overshadow games like concord, fair games, and silent hill remake
KZ2 was ahead of its time. CoD killed it because the masses wanted an arcadey feel to their FPS. KZ2 was so gritty and the characters actually felt weighty. I hope there's a remake at some point. Also a Descent update 😂
I agree that the three titles you mentioned at the end will likely show up, as well as the Until Dawn Remaster and probably Horizon: ZD (PS5). It would be great if they could end it with a sneak peak of Ghost of Tsushima 2 (Ghost of XX). That would help place it high in the history of State of Plays. They definitely need to rebuild the hype. While the PS5 is selling just fine, today's Circana figures are clearly showing a slowdown in console game sales in the US (even though it's nice to see Stellar Blade and Helldivers 2 at the top).

Yep saw this on ps access yt page. I would like to see release dates for Until dawn remake, silent Hill 2 remake, and mgs delta snake eater remake. A new Astro game, maybe reveal trailer for ghost of tsushima 2 and what bend studio, naughty dog and insomniac (wolverine gameplay 🤔) is working on. Although insomniac has been the MVP this gen. At least 3 of these things would make a good state of play.

They may announce a follow-up event at the end focused around new hardware aka PS5 Pro. There will likely be an Astrobot game which I am hyped for (PSVR2 compatible hopefully). I’m very hopeful Concord will slay as well.
If we think back to the PS5 Spider Man 2 console they released it 2 months before the actual game came out and the hype died down on the first limited ed PS5 so it makes sense to announce the PS5 Pro in September rather than in late May so the hype is still there once if releases.

A showcase is for Just Sony exclusives so I'm not expecting PS Studios to show anything unannounced. I'd assume it to be decent even so, Astrobot, Spiderman DLC, Devil inside and concord could be good show if there with soon release dates. I'm not too greedy knowing they need save games for a Showcase for the other games in the works, that horizon live service maybe?

Dude Playroom was way too good to be stuck on the VR2. It used the same engine and gameplay from Rescue Mission and it was EASILY the best game on PS5 at launch.

There are several playstation studios that havent been heard from for a while. Naughty dog are likely years away from anything due to the cancellation of the last of us multiplayer, but sucker punch, housemarque, bluepoint, asobi, and bend are yet to announce anything when they last released a game 3+ years ago. I'd like to think we'd hear from some of them this year, plus whatever cory barlog has been working on at santa monica. I dont expect them at this state of play, except the rumoured astrobot from asobi, so im hopeful of a showcase type event later in the year.
Typically, Sony leaves the Fall/Holiday to third party games and COD specifically, but with this being the first Fall where COD is owned by MS and Sony clearly won’t have the marketing rights to it it opens the window for new first party games.
Showcase isn't going to happen until at the earliest in September so they can announce and show off the pro close to its launch and then they will show us the big 1st party games coming to it
I hope they announce another game or multiple games coming to PC . It will be interesting to watch because really both Xbox and PS shows are cool to watch. Silent Hill would be a cool to see and some more DS 2. I am interested in the Pro not because I want one but I am a hardware junkie and I am curious to see how the pro will improve performance on the regular PS 5.
I’m not gonna get my hopes up because I know it’s just a show case but if they at least give us Concord, I’d be very happy with that I’ve been waiting to see some actual gameplay on that game

Base ps5 will be the lead dev platform. Should be more worry if dev will even spent time and money to even use the pro spec. Pro will be worthless with low install base with nothing more the res bump to games.
Hey if they announce the new Astro game to be a full PS5 game and that it comes out this year, this year’ll be the best year for PS5 despite Sony saying there are no new major releases.

Astrobot is cuter. Also, only older people in their 30s and 40s even know what Jak or Sly even are, they haven't been relevant in decades at this point

im expecting just updates on already announced games like phantom blade and wolverine and just a load of horizon franchise stuff. the anime, the lego collection and the 3 games of lego, ps5 remake and online of which im actually looking forward to. like the metal devil boss in forbidden west dlc you can see thats 100% a multiplayer boss and didnt work as a solo boss. Since I have been gaming since PONG console. Gaming has always had ways to improve. Better graffics, new IP's, etc. Now we at a major crossroads in the gaming industry. They ran out of gaming ideas. With micro transactions being the core build in game development, its time to remaster games people vote for not some lame trash that failed in past. I have no hope it will get any better.😢
MS not being competent competition is making Sony lazy. If MS actually knew what they were doing in the console space, Sony would have to show more. But alas why would Sony be scared of the American 3rd party publisher disguised as a console manufacturer?.
I'm sure it will have a VR mode. It will most likely be on PS5 also as almost nobody bought a VR2. To release the game on VR2 only would mean instant failure and they know that.

Naughty dog are likely years away from anything due to the cancellation of the last of us multiplayer, but sucker punch, housemarque, bluepoint, asobi, and bend are yet to announce anything when they last released a game 3+ years ago. I'd like to think we'd hear from some of them this year, plus whatever cory barlog has been working on at santa monica.
I dont expect them at this state of play, except the rumoured astrobot from asobi, so im hopeful of a showcase type event later in the year.

Typically, Sony leaves the Fall/Holiday to third party games and COD specifically, but with this being the first Fall where COD is owned by MS and Sony clearly won’t have the marketing rights to it it opens the window for new first party games.

Showcase isn't going to happen until at the earliest in September so they can announce and show off the pro close to its launch and then they will show us the big 1st party games coming to it
I hope they announce another game or multiple games coming to PC . It will be interesting to watch because really both Xbox and PS shows are cool to watch. Silent Hill would be a cool to see and some more DS 2.
I am interested in the Pro not because I want one but I am a hardware junkie and I am curious to see how the pro will improve performance on the regular PS 5.
State of play and showcases has pretty much become the same thing, their latest showcase felt like a state of play honestly
I’m not gonna get my hopes up because I know it’s just a show case but if they at least give us Concord, I’d be very happy with that I’ve been waiting to see some actual gameplay on that game
I hope that once PS5 pro comes out PS5 games will still have the option for 60fps for the original model, and not go for 60fps only on the pro model
That’s how it’s been so far, so I see no reason why it would change. Don’t worry, Pro will be a smaller market than the base model just like the original 4 Pro.

@@JoaoNeves-fr8ju You won’t have to. Developers prioritize a good overall experience for everyone, not just the highest spec users. People using the regular PS5 will not be left behind.
Base ps5 will be the lead dev platform. Should be more worry if dev will even spent time and money to even use the pro spec. Pro will be worthless with low install base with nothing more the res bump to games.

Hey if they announce the new Astro game to be a full PS5 game and that it comes out this year, this year’ll be the best year for PS5 despite Sony saying there are no new major releases.

@@Sneaky_racoon_sly Those games are good but I ended up enjoying Astro’s Playroom more and that was just a tech demo. If the new one is a full game, plus Heldivers 2, Stellar Blade, and FF7 Rebirth, this year looks like the best for me.

They want the Lego game to get kids into Horizon, right? Well, I think they should I think we should make older PlayStation IPs into Lego games. I think they should make a Sly Cooper Lego game. That would be perfect for the creativity and the character designs.

I dont think will see games like ghost 2 or naughty dogs new game until the back end of 2025.

Since I have been gaming since PONG console. Gaming has always had ways to improve. Better graffics, new IP's, etc. Now we at a major crossroads in the gaming industry. They ran out of gaming ideas. With micro transactions being the core build in game development, its time to remaster games people vote for not some lame trash that failed in past. I have no hope it will get any better.😢

I'm sure it will have a VR mode. It will most likely be on PS5 also as almost nobody bought a VR2. To release the game on VR2 only would mean instant failure and they know that.

It would be pretty amazing and hilarious if it turns out that Lego Horizon game was a fabricated hoax somehow. Maybe whoever broke the story to certain people knew it'd be an eyebrow raising one and it's maybe just a Lego Horizon in Fortnite and not a full game. Would be the biggest "Was the Lego Horizon game ever real" story ever.
