I owned a 76 Monte Carlo Landau edition. Absolutely loved that thing. Triple black car. All power everything. My dad and I built a 383 stroker with a turbo400 trans for her. She might've been a boat but by god she'd put you back in your seat! Loved this build. Brought back alot of great memories. Take care my friend.
@@Nero62CustomDiecast She was such a great car, but that black vinyl bench seat would fry your rear end off in the summer!!! I've always regretted letting it go but the price was right at the time. I'd love to pick up another when my daughters get older.
@@ae86hachi lol, oh I bet, those black Vinyl Seats would fry you, especially in the summer time. I'm in the same boat, I had a 62 Nova, my 1st car that my dad and I would wrench on together all the time. Sold it 10 years ago. Now I'm trying to find another one so I can work on it with my kids.
Awesome custom you brought it back to life and then some love the wheels.. big LIKE thanks for sharing.. keep up the great work bro.. see you and stay safe.. :) :D
I like all of this one. Great looking rebuild of a great looking casting. Couldn’t really see it on my small screen, but I’m guessing that little flappy thingy on the front of the interior is the hood scoop for the Torino Stocker.
Thank you!! Yeah I later found out that the interior was the same for the Torino stocker.. prior to editing the video I actually had a part where I talked about it, but unfortunately I had to leave it on the cutting room floor.
Yes!!!! The Nascar man is back. Really missed your Nascar builds and this one turned out amazing. I used the same decals on a GTO Judge with the same matalcast red and it turned out amazing. Thanks for sharing another great video, take care and stay safe my friend.
Lol, thank you!! It's good to be back. Awesome!! I really like working with this paint. I think I did a GTO also with the same decals. I love them GTO's
Wow that looks amazing. Great choice with Bud tampos. I have a #12 bud 83 monte carlo ss of Neil Bonnett one of my favorite Nascar series. Beautiful work my friend. Thanks for sharing
The Monte Carlo and the Torino stocker were/are basically the same car the difference was the Torino had a hood scoop with a hole in the hood. The two shared the same interior and base.
Yeah, I didn't know it at the time, but when I looked at one of the Torino's I had sitting around I figured it out. Thats actually a pretty good idea by Mattel to do it that way... I had a section in my video where I talked about it, but the video was getting a bit long so it ended up on the cutting room floor.
This one is already spoken for, but your right. I have another one of these laying around that I was thinking of painting up in a Dale Sr. Paint scheme.
Excellent Build!!! Thanks for all the tips!! What kind of wheels did you say those were? Are the wheels more display or are they multi-purpose where they would be good for racing also? Y'all Stay Safe!!
Thank you!! They are more for display, but I have been experimenting with axel tubes and nickle plated bank pins. They spin really well, but the wheels are rubber and keeping them centered on the rims can be hard.
I have a few cars from when I was a kid in the 70’s. Unfortunately the neighbors kids got their hands on them and they’re a little banged up. Do you restore or customize for other people? Mine has the hood scope in the hood.
Both. I paint the car and then clear it. I put the decals over the clear, which helps hide the lines of the decals, and gives the decals a little floating effect. And then clear it again after the decals are on.
Nero 62 Custom Diecast the second coat of clear doesn’t fudge up the paint? I swear every time I put clear over dry paint it wrinkles up and destroys the paint
@@thomasfilipiak3966 so what I have learned, especially with the dupli color metal cast paint. You need to put the clear on about 10 minutes after you put your final coat on. Otherwise you need to let it dry for several days before putting the clear on. I have had the same thing happen. Once the clear is on and dries I haven't had a problem putting more clear on.
I have in the past, but not anymore. It never really ends up working out right. Either the cliant stops communicating and I'm left with a car that has a lot of wasted time and effort in it. The money for the car or for the work I did to a car sent to me never shows up, or quite frankly I'm just not into the car or what the client want's done to a car. Making these cars is kind of my escape from reality, takes my mind off of work. Once I start putting a price on things it quickly starts feeling like a job. It also depends on the project. If it is something that sounds interesting and I think will keep me interested I might take it on. If there is a car that I have already made that you are interested in we might be able to work something out.

That is beautiful paint.
Yeah, I really like the Dupli Color metalcast paint.. they make a few different colors, but some of them are getting hard to find.
turned out sweet, i like your color choice to give this car a new lease on life
Thank you!! It was a fun build. I really like using those Dupli Color paints
Nice shiny paint job!!
Thanks, it turned out really well. I really like using this paint.

I had one of these in my childhood.. Unfortunately it is long gone...
Both of these are in decent shape with good bones..
Yeah, I was a little worried when I ordered them, but they were in pretty decent shape.

Haha you’ve done it again! This was a beautiful custom! The difference from before and after is incredible.

Stunning Monte Carlo Stocker! The reason for the scoop is that the base and interior was shared with the Torino Stocker. Excellent job on it 🍻

Gorgeous the red with the 11 makes it pop

Nice job bro. I just finished up three throw back race cars myself

That model done up as Dale Earnhardt's #2 from his early career would have been sweet.
Funny you mention that... That is on the to do list.

Try NON-fuming East Off oven cleaner in a big Ziploc bag for removing paint on plastic castings.

Hhhhmmmm, I'll have to try that out. Thanks for the info.

I got here through the 3Dbotmaker

Awesome work. Did you buy or print the decals?

Wow amazing also where do you get the decals
I really love your works! Keep it coming! Subbed!

If this is the same one 3dbotmaker used in his stock car race it was amazing in that high quality footage and the lights made it shine
Nope, not this car. this one has never been over to 3D's track. It has been sitting in a case since I finished it.
